You have successfully killed a fume drake. Two are left, one in each far spring. The two are swimming in a crazy manner then raise their heads out of the water to see the party.
The fume drake on the right screamed when the eldritch blast hit it. It rose out of the water and stared at the party, a rumbling coming from its chest.
The fume drake that was hit by Theodor and Trilaxa writhes in agony, blood dripping from behind its head.
Wounded Drake on the right: You hear a gurgling noise then the fume drake exhales a 15ft cone of scalding steam attacking Barakas and Theodor.
To hit 13, damage 19.
Theodor manages to look away just in time, blocking the superheated steam with his armour. Was it his imagination or did the silver embroidery on his new surcoat glow as he did it?
Barakas wasn't so lucky, it hit him and immediately raised blisters in his face and hands, his eyes puffing up so he couldn't see, he couldn't breath properly and falls unconscious.
The other drake on the left hand side hissed its unhappiness and flew straight at Trilaxa and Shayla letting off a scalding breath straight at them.
To hit 14, damage 23
Trilaxa screamed as she was engulfed in the steam, blisters all over her body, she falls unconscious.
Shayla muttered a prayer as she saw the fume drake coming and a pale blue light surrounded her, protecting her from the attack.
Theodor strengthens his defensive position, to block the drake from attacking Barakas again. After lay on hands, Barakas seems to be breathing easier now, his eyes less puffy. He is still unconscious but no longer at deaths door. He will need a long rest with further healing. The blisters look unsightly and some of them are bleeding.
Theodor swears that he can hear the litany of Bahamut whispering in his ear.
Shayla managed to stabilise Trilaxa, she is still unconscious and needs further healing, like Barakas the worst of the damage stopping her breathing. Now you can hear her breathe properly.
You are currently near the site of a bronze dragons death. You were not killed but rendered unconscious and allowed to use Death saving rolls. Shayla used magic to stabilise you, not enough to render you conscious. You having an enormous amount of damage, that one low level spell can not overcome. However if you have a ruling on that from the DM guide for Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. feel free to quote the page. This is a beginners adventure after all and I am a new DM.
However if you want I'll use the games own cop out as printed in the booklet for any death in this game . You wake up to find yourself in the Temple, Runara caring for your wounds, you see the blisters disappear and the scars fade until your skin looks like normal and it is easy to breath.
Reitl and Rix scamper up to Shayla, and pick Trilaxa up in a stretcher. She must go to Runara, her wounds are grave. said Reitl. He looks at the drake near to Theodor and casts Guiding bolt on it for damage of 14 radiant damage. The wounded drake screams and falls down dead.
They finish loading Trilaxa trying to make her comfortable and scurry off to the Cloister.
Trilaxa
You wake up to find yourself in the Temple, Runara caring for your wounds, you see the blisters disappear and the scars fade until your skin looks like normal and it is easy to breath.
It was nothing, I rarely get to heal pilgrims, there is no charge. I would recommend that you eat more than normal for full recovery. I've sent Rix and Reitl back down to the beach to help if they can. Here drink some water you are parched. Runara leans over and holds a tankard to your lips
He will move to within 10 ft of the drake and let out a great draconic cry (giving everyone advantage on attacks until his next turn) and then shoot his bow. After his shot he will retreat back with the rest of his movement hoping to stay out of it's breath range.
The drake snarls at you, but looks around for the wounded party members, it is angry but will not budge from its chosen lair. The draconic cry seems to excite it. Kracks arrow wedges into the fume drakes left wing causing a rip down it, it won't be flying very far.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(dm. let me know if this is okay. sorry i wasn't on i hope i think i told everyone i wouldn't be able to be on sundays, but here it is again just in case.)
veneer
having snuck around to behind the drake he suddenly jumps out and stabs it in the back with both his daggers.
Attack: 23 Damage: 5
Attack: 14 Damage: 1

Veneer arrives down on the beach and walks along the waves until he is behind the hotsprings. Theodor is in front of him and the still form of Barakas. The drake is eyeing Krack therefore not paying attention to him. He runs softly on the sand and strikes out with his daggers, a low cut as the drake is badly wounded in the wing it can not fly. The drake takes 10 points of damage but still lives, it dives back into the water trying to evade you..

Trilaxa blasts one of the remaining fume drakes with exotic energies. Eldritch Blast: AC25(Crit) 4 damage.

Your turn.
Shayla
Grunting in surprise and pain, she sees her companion go down, and reacts "Raei's tears ease this pain" Healing Word on Trilaxa for 5 hp healing.
Then she shoots at the injured drake Nat 1.

Theodor
Weighing up his options, he knows Barakas can cause some serious damage with those knives.
Theodor will spend 1 point of Lay on Hands on Barakas, keeping some divine light in reserve in case he needs to do this again.
Then he will interpose himself between the drake and Barakas, using his broad form to shield Barakas.

OOC: Was this you asking if you died? I was wondering that too. 23 damage is a LOT. But GM said you were knocked out, not dead. Whew!
