The safest way would be to climb aboard then take the potions after finding out if the ship has water inside.

"I think we should climb onto the main deck and search the open areas first, then tackle the cabins before going below."

Theodor

"Sounds like a good plan to me." 

Theodor assesses the climb up the tattered sails, and begins his climb to the upper deck.

If Theodor makes it up without issue, he'll pull out his hempen rope and tie to something sturdy and help pull people up.

Krack

"Oh wait, I almost forgot, here..." and Krack gives everyone two Goodberry. "I no longer call them Krack berries, now I call them Bean Berries! Get it?" he looks around smiling, then points at the small drake, "Bean Berries! Anyway, you know about them, fill you up and heal you too! OK, Let's go get the Undead!"

"You stay close to me Beans, this is a new and scary world for you I bet!" and Krack will follow Theodor up the sails to the deck, Beans sticking close.

Shayla

Shayla casts Light on Theodore's shield. "That might help. Thanks for the Beans!"

Perception 22

OOC: Aw crap!! I put the wrong character name. The thingie is going to say manipulate die roll. It was a 22. Argh. Stupid forum stuff.

Theodor climbs the ropes and rigging with ease. He tests the wreckage at the top on the Main deck (C1), it is solid. Tying his rope to the  side he flung the other end down with a loop tied in it. Each of the party are pulled up one at a time. They tie off the rowing boat so that they don't lose it.

They all look around but Shayla sees the most clearly. The moldering wood of the deck is slick with algae and seawater. Amid the tangle of the rigging, splintered railings, and stray seaweed, you spot boots, bones and bits of gore that seem considerably more recent than the wreck of the ship. Stairs lead to upper decks at fore and aft C2 and C3, and doors lead into cabins under those decks. The mainmast remains intact and mostly upright, topped with a crows nest overflowing with debris, and the odd sparkle when the sun touches it. A staircase near the mast and a large hatch on the port side both lead down into the hold.

Shayla

She squints at the crows nest and climbs up to check what is shiny up there. "Guys there is something shiny up there. I'm going to check it out and come back down. Don't go downstairs without me."

DM

Shayla manages to clutch hold of the rigging and the rope ladder leading to the crows nest. This must be where the Harpy has been hiding her hoard.

Shayla finds a treasure trove and opens one of her pouches to put the items in. You find the following: a small gold bracelet (25GP), a single gold hoop earring (25GP), two tigereye gems (both worth 10GP) and one bloodstone gem (50GP). She carefully looks around in case there is more

Tucked down at the bottom is a tiny stiletto dagger with ornamental handle, it looks like it would have ben held in the hair or tucked in a boot (dagger +1).

Theodor

Theodor will inspect the upper decks, carefully stepping as to not stand on any damaged or rotting wood. Once again, he will channel the power his Oath has provided and the same silvery-white light will cover his eyes as he uses Divine Sense to make sure there aren't any undead nearby. 

DM

Theodor moves carefully around the upper decks. The broken foremast leans out across a broken railing, with a tangle of rigging and tattered canvas trailing down to the rocks and dragon bones below. A rusted and rotting ballista stands near the broken mast. C2

His senses twitch and he moves over to the quarterdeck, a sense of unease growing. The splintered remains of a mast jut up from this rear deck like a broken spear. The ships wheel is askew, dislodged from its mechanism. C3 The unease feels to be under your feet. There are undead on this ship.

Shayla

She scrambles down the mast and shows the party the findings. Theo seems a responsible type, she hands the money items to him.

To Veneer, she gives the dagger. "You might need something special in this place."

Theodor

Theodor places the items in his pouch. He turns to the group and solemnly whispers, "I can sense an undead presence on this ship, be on your toes."

He starts to make his way to the west doors on the main deck, and points to the doors. "In one of these rooms, I will go first."

Theodor will wait until everyone is in position, and ready to fight, then open the south-west door.

A long dead, headless skeleton sits propped up against a counter to the right, but the galley is otherwise empty. Unless...did the skeleton just move?

(Passive Perception)  On a careful look you notice that small harmless crabs are crawling over the skeletal remains, causing the illusion of movement.
