Darthos tucked himself into a corner of the cavern as the others begin to debate the next move. He removed his trusty spell book from his pack and sat on the floor of the cavern. It appeared to the others he was looking for a certain spell to help in a situation like this. Darthos screamed as the book began to burst into a green flame up from the pages. He tossed the book to the ground at his feet, where the book remained open, still spewing flames upwards. Growing larger and larger, the flames almost became blinding to the others.
Everyone make a DC perception check of 15 or better. The ones who make the check see the following little bit
Darthos body appears to elongate up toward the carven ceiling and then over, toward the fire. Darthos appears to have been pulled into the book by the fire.
The book begins to rise a foot off the ground. The green flames dying down. Just before the flame is extinguished, the book appears as if it is being pulled into the flame. The book vanished just as the flame burns out. No smoke. No heat. No book. No Darthos...........
Shielding his eyes from the sudden brightness of the flames, Renvalm is horrified to see that Darthos has seemingly burst into flames and burned into nothing.
“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”

”It appears as though young Darthos has been summoned, through his spell book to another location. Let us hope he is able to return with new found wisdom and skills.”
"Oh, I hope he's alright! Is that normal for wizards, to be sucked into their spellbooks?" Gramgran looks around worried at the thought of Darthos being in trouble.

Yuri
Calmed now, and realising that even without Darthos, they need to carry on, Yuri nods at Morpetor's instruction. Heading out of the cavern, Yuri continues to keep an eye out for traps.

Retcon - Kim was blinded by the light. She had never seen such an occurance.
As the group starts to explore forward Kim walks over to where the light happened. She's grips a near by rock and carved into the stone wall a picture of a raven in the center of a clock with the wings pointing to 6 and 9. This is how the Order of the Raven marked graves, the wings pointing to the time of sunrise and sunset, representing the life cycle of creatures. She wasn't sure if Darthos was gone, but in case they never met again, sheree wanted to honor him. After finishing, she followed the rest of the team.
(Ren - take a point of for the savageness of taking Klarg's head as a prize. Kim - also take a point of inspiration for marking the assumed grave of Darthos with the mark of the Order of the Raven.)
Kim carves the a symbol of the Order of the Raven into the cavern wall. Yuri enters into the northern cavern and does not have any indication of traps. Ren follows behind Yuri, but does not believe any enemies are in this cavern. Morpetor, Kim and Gramgran follow in behind after the signal the coast is clear.
The group moves north, down a few stairs carved into the stone floor, into into an unexplored cavern. You see a large pool of water (the one on the right) created by blocking the flow with rocks. The pool to the left is emptied and the rocks have been moved. You assume this is where rush of water came from that washed the group out of the cave mouth.
To the east is the wooden bridge you observed on the main pathway into the cave. To the north is another set of stone steps leading down to the path below.

Yuri
Moving past the pools of water, Yuri will motion to the others to come over. "This is how they flushed us out of the caves the last time, let's not leave this for themto use again."
Shrugging his shield onto his back, Yuri takes his sword in both hands. Focusing on the trap, Yuri tries to think like a goblin and queries how this trap would work, and how one would alter it so that it would not work in future.
(Yuri - the sword works against goblinoid creatures, goblins, bugbears and hobgoblins. I will take the first roll, which is still a 20.)
It appears the rocks hold the water back, when the goblins want to flush out the tunnel, they move the rocks to allow all the held back water to flow. The rocks for the second pool are unmoved.
(Yuri - an investigation check would have been more appropriate. The rolled 16 is enough to cover that check though. The sword would be more for talking with NPCs and enemies. You dont HAVE to kill everyone, regardless of what Ren says lol. You could have talked with Klarg and did an insight check to see if he was lying or anything like that.)
Morpetor Begins to mutter under his breath (casting mage hand). The rest of the group begin to see small amounts of rocks being moved, but by bit, as if by a magical and unseen hand.
Ooc - Morpetor will do this until the water trap no longer poses a threat.
