Anachain turns to Togar and gives them an assessing look. "Can you fly that far?" she asks. "No offense, I just hadn't really considered it before. But yes, if you could fly there and bring word to the mayor, express the urgency of them making a plan for how to ensure the rituals are performed and enact it as soon as possible..." Anachain gives a little shrug that basically signs off on that plan.
"Okay, let me just have 10 minutes to figure out this wand, then I'll take flight. Have to deal with that cranky mayor again, but ... I guess I can do it. Makes sense. Hopefully she'll listen to reason. I'll make her listen. Before the nipples get tired." *click of beak*. You can't tell, but there's almost a grin on the face of the owlin.
He starts to ritually cast identify on the wand recovered from the body, and then prepares to take flight back to town..

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Togar is able to Identify the wand's power and organises the things he had found in the Hut before preparing to take flight.
As Kulloda opens the door and sits petting and trying to feed the little cat, Pom listens to the conversation and seems content, content that the party has decided to perform the rituals until a replacement can be found, "Your words... bring me hope,... that maybe... my master's... work will... continue,... maybe the... creatures won't... have to hurt... any more... people." Pom forces each word out with a great deal of effort, he tries to lift his head and then droops down again, the jerky remaining on the ground in front of it as it struggles. Kulloda has seen death many times before, seen the life dwindling as energy in the body is used up and there is no more left, Kulloda can see that this cat is really trying to fight the inevitable but has very very little time.
Anachain walks over and kneels by the cat. She gives the familiar (she assumes) a sad smile that she hopes looks sympathetic. "Anything we can do for you, before you go? Besides keep up the rituals?" She asks as kindly as she can. "Or.. after? Would you like to rest with your master? Or something else?"
She recognizes that Pom and their master had a tighter bond than she and Myrth do. Oh, they get along alright, she supposed... But she doesn't think the little imp would try to carry on after she was gone. Maybe she should try to be nice to them? Maybe.
Maybe not.
With the familiar on her mind, however, she mentally instructs them to follow Togar when they head back to town. Invisibly, of course. She doesn't think the little imp would be much help if they get into trouble but you never know.
Togar walks over to Anachain prior departing and hands the wand of web to Mother Anachain - stating “This might work if the little creatures approach you and you need to web them, stop them, slow them down. I will be back with help as soon as I can. Once we explain what must be done, I’m sure something can be arranged.” Togar gives a nod to them and takes to the air, heading back toward the village.
Anachain grabs Togar before they can depart. "Try to be tactful with the mayor... But make it clear, we're not taking on this job for long. If the town wants this area safe, it is there job. Don't let her dawdle or delay. Tell her four days and we're gone... though it'll probably be more like six. But don't tell her that!" Anachain says solemly. "Go now... be safe and return quickly. I'll try to keep an eye on you til you return..."
Anachain takes the wand and looks at it a bit suspiciously. But she smiles her thanks and gives a nod of thanks as well as farewell to Togar as he departs.
Putting the cakes by the fire to bake, Deniz walks over and drapes a blanket over the dying cat for warmth and comfort. He bids farewell to Togar, placing one hand on the owlin's shoulder, while speaking a few quiet words in Elvish, then starts to gather his things into his string shoulder bag. Once Togar departs, Deniz opens the discussion about where to go and what to do first...
* The quickling lair is Deniz's first preference, as it is the one that lasts the longest, two weeks according to the book, but it is two hours away. It will require the iron spikes the lullaby and the blessing of sleep.
* They haven't encountered the darklings yet, but with a simple prayer and some clean water, that would be a potentially easy ritual, lasting a week. It could also be a good first option. Perhaps also the darklings are less dangerous in the light of day, but that's just a guess. Hopefully there are no lantern-bearers; they were more trouble than help.
* The chernomoi only lasts for two days at most anwyay, and Deniz doesn't think he could supply milk that often, if at all. Besides he is only one creature. Better to leave him to last, and perhaps find some way to contain him, or at worst, take turns keeping him dead. The cakes could be stored away for their return, or left out in the hope the creature consumes them. However, the elf is open to dealing with the chernomoi first if that's anyone's preference.

"Kulloda not lilke angry pixies," Kulloda says.
He looks at Togar and nods.
"Kulloda stay. But Kulloda not milk horse." Kulloda adds. He looks into the woods. "Where have to put spike?"

Kulloda nods at Pom then lets the others know "Cat die soon. Power gone. Life going."
