Magical? No, it's a celestial that has taken this form, reaches out to the owls mind, and his name is Percy. His keen eyes should allow us to do some recon on the ship before we board, maybe that info will help us form a plan. Thank Percy for his help. Pack up my gear, Percy can perch on the top of my pack. Head down stairs with Khessa.
A fully refreshed Khessa descends the stairs with Elias and searches for Tarina, Rahima and the remaining Flaming Fist friends, apparently quite ready to venture out on a pirate ship: "Very well! Are we ready? Meet Percy, our new scout!" she jerks her thumb at the owl perched on Elias' backpack "He can report back to us on the ship, when we're close enough! Cool, isn't it? Shall we go?"
[[ OOC: For those low on HP. remember that you can recover HP by spendign your HD after the Short Rest that we just took. ]]
Raynoir is stunned at the aftermath of the battle more so when it happened within the bar, seems to have condensed the overall effect Ray thinks. "No time for pondering" he says to no one in particular. Though he notices a few are now at the bar and having a drink.
Not feeling particularly hungry, but more feeling like its important right now to be pro-active in the 'hands on spaces', where Ray can help with any healing or even just to be a listening ear. So he takes himself back to the bar area and lets everyone know he's around any assistance required.
"Barmen, give me yell if you need some help, I can even be a pretend barmen if you like, yes?"
Ray notices Atals and few others at the bar, "Hi Atlas and Tarina give me a yell if you need anything?".
And Ray moves to a table not far away. A number of locals come towards him for a friendly chat and Ray follows suit thinking it important that hearts of minds of the local people see them as good people, we are here to help and not just to wreck stuff up ..... I hope!
"Again, your name?"TARINA gets close to TAZZAVUR."Information is what you get. Nothing more." She looks approvingly at the Dragonborn, "If you want part of our plunder then become part of my crew. I could use someone like you."
"Now give me five gold pieces out of Dead-Eye's pouch. We should give something to Alan to help clean up the mess we made,"she holds out a hand at TAZZAVUR.
(Everyone can take a short rest. I will wait for Tazzavur's response before continuing.)
TAZZAVUR smiles in respect.
“Tazzavur, well met! Keep your word this time and you have a deal!”
He hands over the 5gp and places another 2gp on the bar.
”The next round is on me!”
(ooc - everyone should take 6gp and 5sp as an even share, TAZZ will inspect the chains and ring separately and we can split when appropriate)
Receiving no response to her call to action, Khessa thinks: 'Maybe the others still need to relax a bit... After all, if things had gone just a little differently, we could have ended up like Dead-Eye. And if they are not in a hurry, why should I be?'
The blonde warrior's blue eyes rest on Raynoir, the silver dragonborn whose holy power was no less instrumental than Elias's arcane power in determining the defeat of the pirate boss: "You must forgive me," she sits down next to him "I haven't thanked you first... Without that bolt of magical light you hit Dead-Eye with at the beginning, I think that beast of the seas would have torn me to pieces! Thank you so much, my friend!" she pats his silver-scaled shoulder with enthusiasm.
"I don't know how you do it," the tall adventurer admits "to have such intense faith that your deity actually works miracles for you... I tried, you know, praying, for a while?" her features visibly sadden "During the darkest time I've ever lived. Dark in every possible sense. And it must have been so dark" she sighs "that it hid me even from the eyes of the gods, because, you know, unfortunately they didn't answer me..." she forces herself to smile again and think positively "But after all it's more than enough that they are answering you! I fell safer to have you with me! You and all the other guys, of course... So many different talents... And we worked together quite well".
(This is all happening during and through the end of the Short Rest.)
DOWNSTAIRS:
“Well met TAZZAVUR,”TARINA offers a grin.
TARINA takes five gold pieces from TAZZAVUR. Then takes it to the bartender, “Alan, sorry about the mess. Hope this will cover it.”
“That will do fine,” the Half-Elf responds.
When TAZZAVUR puts two more gold pieces on the bar Alan says, “Close enough.” He then calls out, “Next round is on him.” He points to the black scaled Dragonborn. A rush of patrons head to the bar.
TARINA hears RAYNOIR asking Alan if he could be of assistance. She approaches the lighter scaled Dragonborn. “Well met, we have not been introduced. I am TARINA. I could use your hand. We need to get the dead sailors to the street. And Dead-Eye to the sewers where he belongs. The thought of Dead-eye being Otyugh dung in a couple of days just warms my heart.” She sees that the Dragonborn is a Cleric, "May be you can offer a word for the sailors. They were just following the orders of a mad man."
TARINA then addresses this loud enough for all to hear, “These sailors need to be taken back to my ship. They should properly be buried at sea.”
UPSTAIRS:
ELIAS has a flying visitor. A shimmering owl joins the young Wizard.
The young Wizard introduces his new companion to the party.
BACK DOWNSTAIRS and OUTSIDE:
TARINA, the surviving sailors from Dead-eye’s party, and others help to remove the dead. They layout the three dead sailors in front of the Elfsong Tavern. They drag Dead-eye’s headless corpse to behind the Tavern where there is access to the sewers. PLOP the body splashes in the muck. TARINA keeps Dead-eys dead head.
RAHIMA looks at TARINA, "Ooh. You gone to keep that." She points to the head.
"Come with us and you will see what I am going to do with this,"TARINAresponds.
FINALLY:
After all the back and forth, the party gathers in the lower portion of the Elfsong Tavern to begin heading toward the Uncivil Serpent.
But just as the party is about to leave, the female Elf start to sing again. There is a sudden hush and then a gasp through the patrons. The Elf is singing that new song again lamenting Elturel.
Raynoir listens to Tarina explain why this important and agrees to help her. Some clerical work is most definitely not for the faint hearted. But the opportunity to assist and help is all that matters to him and it pleases his god immensely. So helps remove Dead-Eye and puts his dead body where Tarina suggests.
Raynoir to Tarina, "I can speak to the sailors, those who survived and offer comfort and I can make whatever time I have available at your discretion those who may need individual support I wil be guided by you"and will await Tarina's advice on where and when to talk to the sailors.
While waiting, Raynoir prepares his armour and tabard and prepares himself.
Khessa places herself in the first line, with a self confident smile - but ready for anything.
The blonde warrior tells Tarina: "You know this ship and this crew better than I do, but I'd say it's time to use the head... Dead-Eye's head, I mean. I hope you can convince them to accept you".
"Anyway," the tall adventuress assures "whoever wants to come and harm you, will have to take down me first. Come on, let's take this Serpent".
ok, so I can see through Percy's eyes, if you'd like we can fly around the ship and get an idea of who and where they are on deck? Thicket sir, how mates have you on board?
(Looking at the map then it looks like they are all accounted for above deck) I'll ask Percy to perch on the ships mast and alert me if anymore pop up from below deck. I'll afix my stone atop my staff. When whoever starts to address the members on the ship I'll cast light on the stone making sure to illuminate Tarina and dead eye's head. For dramatic effect of course.
ELIAS’ owl flies around the Uncivil Serpent. You see six PIRATES on the top deck. There is a piece of canvas creating a makeshift tent on the back quarterdeck. A female PIRATE appears to be sucking on a bone. Another PIRATE sits near the wheel. On the Main Deck there are a couple more makeshift tents along with several more bedrolls. One PIRATE appears to be sleeping while another watches the docks. On the forecastle two PIRATEs sit near a ballista.
Khessa, asked for a plan, quickly assesses the situation: "This time numbers are on our side. The crew are fewer than us and are more spread out. So, in case of battle, this time we should try to swarm them - at least those, like me, who fight in melee; those who prefer to fight from range can stay at a distance without fear that some pirate will manage to disengage and reach them".
"The only thing they have that we don't, is the ballista" the blonde warrior points out. "So priority to the guy next to that - let's kill him first. Or we can temporarily render the weapon useless by cutting its rope. As for the rest, they won't stand a chance".
"I still hope," the tall adventuress sighs "that the crew can accept Tarina without further bloodshed, so what I suggest is that we all just approach the ship, we climb aboard with her, keeping me and our other melees in the front lines in case of trouble, and let her explain the situation. If a fight breaks out... we're already on the ship - we swarm them, we render the ballista useless and we keep killing them until they've had enough".

(I will pause here for a bit.)
oh! Oh! grabs my pen and book, starts writing down I can of the song
Khessa does not know elvish, so, while enjoying the melody, she tries to peek at what Elias is writing, to understand the words.
The Elf sings her song.
The Wizard grabs his pen.
The Warrior takes a peek.
The party leaves the Elfsong Tavern.
TARINA will look at RAYNOIR, "Let's see what happens at the ship."
TARINA asks one of the Pirates, Thicket, to lead the way.
The party arrives at the docks.
(What do you do next. I will be posting a couple of links in the OOC thread.)
Khessa places herself in the first line, with a self confident smile - but ready for anything.

ok, so I can see through Percy's eyes, if you'd like we can fly around the ship and get an idea of who and where they are on deck? Thicket sir, how mates have you on board?
Thicket will say that six were left behind to maintain the ship.
Relay this info to my friends, plan?
