Raynoir realises tension surrounds this crew. Bloodshed is a real thing here.
Already dressed in his finest clerical gear, armour bright, standing proud as a dragonborn sworn to the services of Bahamut.
I can help here. I can inspire the crew to fellow Tarina.
Raynoir casts| guidance on self and roles a performance check 17 +1 [game-log] | plus 4 from casting Guidance.
Ray stands tall and raises his arms heavenward and intones every clerical skill he has with all his might speaking in a voice for all to hear:
"Crew, fellow masters of arms and men of valour, listen to me, I Raynoir cleric of Bahamut follower of all that is good and just, I ask you to hear me speak of Captain Tarina, a person of great valour, integrity and a leader of the just. I see yea all and I hear your hearts, follow her call to arms and follow her banner, do this not for yourself, but instead look around you, look to each other, [Rays voice is rising in volume and urgency] - do this for 'US' ,and as Bahamut is my divine and holy witness you will not be disappointed for the Gods are with us and with Captain Tarina [a silence suddenly descends and Rays arms fall to his sides and speaks now almost in silence, the crew strain forward to hear] the decision you make today will be remembered for all eternity, your lovers, your wives, your partners, your children and your gods will know what you did here today was just".
And Raynior drops his dragonborn head down towards his chest and awaits their outcome.

When the party arrives at the docks, RAHIMA says, “Ooh the smells. Rotted fish. It is bad down here.” She pulls out a perfume bottle with a diffuser and sprays her face.
With KHESSA and RAYNOIR in the lead, TARINA holding Dead-eye’s dead head high, approaches the ship with rest of the party.
ATLAS keeps to the rear and surveys the ship as he gets closer. He sees nothing out of the ordinary.
One of the PIRATEs calls out, "We have company." The PIRATEs gather crossbows and ready themselves. One on the forecastle loads a bolt on the ballista.
RAYNOIR begins to call out with the grace bestowed by Bahamut. The PIRATEs have not seen anything like this before. They look at the Dragonborn Cleric and then at each other in both awe and confusion. The PIRATEs seem to relax a bit.
Then TARINA holds up Dead-eye’s head, “As you can see Dead-eye is dead. His mutiny against Captain Sessprin,” She calls out the name loud and clear. “Is over. As Sessprin’s first mate, I am now Captain.”
Then the PIRATE on the forecastle points the ballista at TARINA, “You stole from us TARINA. We have been living on worse than slurry for six months.”
TARINA quickly responds, “Sam, I didn’t steal from you. I stole from Dead-eye, the mutineer. And do you think he was going to share with you?”
The PIRATE at the Ballista backs away.
TARINA will say, “The days of eating slurry or worse,"she looks up at Sam, "is over.” She reaches in her pouch belt and flips a coin toward Sam.
RAYNOIR and TARINA’s words, not to mention a significant show of force, saved the day from further violence.
The party follows TARINA on to the Uncivil Serpent.
When RAHIMA is about to go on board, you hear her say, “Ooh, this is even worse.” She squirts herself again with the perfume bottle.
AFTERWARDS
TARINA says, "It is time to celebrate! I know a warehouse that has newly arrived kegs of Dwarven Ale. Who will go and get us a keg?"
"Well done!"Khessa pats Ryanoir on the silver-scaled back "There was... something in your speech... Maybe divine inspiration? I was almost about to join the crew myself... Anyway," there is relieved admiration deep in her blue eyes "you avoided more bloodshed! I'm really glad about that!"
Then, if nobody else does, the blonde warrior is more gjan happy to make herself useful and goes get the keg Tarina mentioned. As she comes back with the Alé she is singing: "Ceeee-le-bra-tion time come on! It's a celebration..."
TARINA counts out five gold coins and gives to KHESSA, “Do you know Flymm Cargo near the Counting House?”One of the Pirates named Kale says he does. KHESSA and Kale (that almost fits) leave to get a keg of Dwarven Ale.
RAHIMA walks around the ship spraying parts and Pirates as she goes. When she reaches a bronze skinned female Pirate on the quarterdeck, the Pirate stops the exotic Cleric. It looked like trouble was about to brew. RAHIMA gets the Pirate to hold out her wrist. The Cleric gives the wrist a little squirt. The bronze skinned Pirate sniffs her wrist, smiles, and gives the Cleric a nod OK. RAHIMA gives the Pirate a double squirt.
Catch Khessa and Kale as they leave, are you headed in the direction of the inn? If so, can I go with you? I'm not much of a partier and I've got that room for a couple of nights. We could met there in the morning and discuss the info from Tarina?
"Oh, Elias, sure come as well!" Khessa is happy to accept the young wizard's offer "But stop at least a moment to celebrate with us! It's only just to express closeness to Tarina... It's a great day for her! Afterwards, if that room you got for a couple of nights is quieter than the Uncivil Serpent, we could just get there and examine my famous book of magic together... since you have been so kind as to offer me the privilege of your assistance..."
ok then, oh, just a second. the young wizard runs over to Ray, is it brother Raynoir now or can I still call you Ray? Either way, that was amazing and thank you. he turns and moves to catch up with Khessa. He'll call for Percy, scratching the owls head as he perches on his shoulder, good job and thank you.
Ray is glad everything turned out well. He will want to check in on CAPT Tarinato see she's OK?
He recognises bloodshed is sometimes unavoidable and maybe a necessity. But as a Cleric he's preference is always to hold towards the importance of all life for all peoples.
He's glad too to have helped his crew he saw RAHIMA moving around squirting her perfume and seeing its reactions were priceless - reactions turn to joy, we can do some serious good, he thinks to himself.
Ray smiles at young Elias and the mighty Khessa seeing the joy and excitement evident on them both as they go to 'celebrate', "Brother Ray"what a compliment indeed ... he'd never thought he'd be called such a honorific before.
RAYNOIR moves to quiet place to meditate and give thanks to Bahamut and seek Bahamut's continued guidance and support to both him and his crew who he is quickly growing very fond of. Maybe after meditating he'll bump into Atlas?
TARINA thanks RAYNOIR for his help, “That was powerful.” She tells the Cleric that she is better than OK.
KHESSA and Kale gets a keg. They roll out the barrel on the Uncivil Serpent’s main deck. TARINA gathers tin cups from the mess and hands them out. The keg’s lid is opened and everyone except RAHIMA dips their cups for a drink. The ale is strong and spicy, typical of the finest Dwarven Ale.
RAHIMA pulls a handkerchief out or her purse and begins working on the cup. Most will be on their second or third cup by the time the exotic Cleric was satisfied with her now mostly clean cup. She sips the ale with a smile. She quickly catches up to everyone in consumption.
TARINA after her fourth cup pulls out her pan flute and performs a playful ditty. Some of the Pirates begin to dance. Thicket gets RAHIMA to join in.
ATLAS looks through out the ship without anyone really paying attention. There is nothing of any real value to be found. The term destitute comes to mind. It looks like only Dead Eye had anything of worth. And he didn’t have much.
Elias takes a cup of the strong drink, raises it as customary when toasting. At some point he'll dismiss Percy for the night with a thank you and letting him know there are plenty of rats in town, eat well my friend. As the dancing starts he'll take Khessa's hand, come on!
performance roll 5
Looks at Khessa and apologies, I'm horrible at this, I'm sorry.
Atlas would like to look through Dead-Eye’s quarters to see if he finds anything of importance. Not necessarily valuables, but maybe a journal or maps. Information is more the subject of this investigation.
Khessa is delighted to take the young wizard's hand and starts dancing, without any grsce or sense of rythm, but traing to make up with unbridled enthusiasm.
"Are you kidding, Elias?" she laughs, feeling like she is a young girl again at a country festival, like she was, not too long ago, as her hamlet, Twardens, had not yet been razed and her family not yet enslaved "I can't see anything wrong in the way you dance! In fact, maybe I'm learning a few steps from you... That one when you rsise your hands over your head and start spinning is really fun! Whooo!"
"I know you from so few time" the blonde warrior smiles, in a moment they are catching their breath "and yet I owe you do much! You flatter me... you blast a brute who wants to cut me to pieces... you dance with me... and soon you'll help me understand a bit more about magic! You..."her blue eyes shine so grateful now, staring into his... "You really are a blessing Elias".
While ELIAS and KHESSA attempt dancing, ATLAS looks over the Captain’s Quarters. He will not find a journal or anything like that. He will find a detailed map of the Sword Coast. Nothing relevant to the Cultist of the Dead Three.
Elias blushes and for an instant lost in thought as he looks into Khessa's eyes, with a smile he looks away...my fair lady Khessa, you either way too kind or have had way too much ale, but, thank you. The hour draws late and I should be getting back to the inn for my nightly studies. You are more than welcome to join me now or later if you please, there seems to be much celebrating to be had and Tarina has of yet to settle our business. he takes her hand again, gives her a courtly bow and gently kisses it. Turns to head to the gang blank in order to disembark.
"You're the one who's always so kind to me..." Khessa smiles, not letting go of the young wizard's hand after he kisses it and walking away with him to their evening activities "I'm just a common country girl - except that I've learned to chop off heads from those who, in turn, would like to chop off mine - and you insist on treating me with a courtesy worthy of a patriar or a princess..."
Once the two reach the quiet of the room, the blonde warrior takes out the mysterious tome that has already made its furtive appearance other times, the one with the cover decorated with a spider-web-like motif, and enthusiastically opens it before the other's eyes, starting to show the content: notes in undercommon (which she translates, if the young wizard does not know that language) on the supposed nature of magic, of the Weave and of the multiverse (some rather delirious, of the type 'all in all, we are all food for Lolth'), alternating with a series of esoteric symbols that are certainly the formalism that the previous owner of the spellbook used to codify the description, the effects and the way to cast the spells he knew!
[[ OOC: @DM: Just so I know: are we leveling up during the night? Because if so, I'd like to role-play the fact that during the study session with Elias, Khessa will finally be able to decipher the contents of the spellbook he has (earning her 6 starting known spells). If not, she will surely start to understand something more, she will be well on her way, but she will still have to practice. ]]
(OOC - Was waiting on Tazzavur to post. But I will go ahead with this.)
TARINA will later tell the party, “It is called the Bathhouse. RAHIMA knows it well. She used to go there daily until I warned her to stay away from it. During the day, from sunrise until midnight, it is a popular place to bathe. But after midnight the Cult of the Dead Three operate, bringing in their dead from what I hear. If you are serious about going there be prepared. The Cultists of the Dead Three are tough customers.”
The party will eventually turn in for the night. End DAY ONE.
DAY TWO
LEVEL TWO
(Let me know when you’re ready to go to the Bathhouse. I need to know what time of day that you’re going. . Rahima can guide you to the location. Everyone can take a Long Rest.)
what a glorious tome, let's what we can lead from it. casts comprehend languages should take us about 10 minutes or so. That should allow us to look over what you've got. for the next hour I'll help Khessa with her tome of magic, explaining what spells she has and giving ideas on where to start.
