m m me? Now sir. pulling my journal, pen and ink out of my pack, muttering to myself, cloven feet, devils, he'll riders?? Can you ask her to sing it again, I'd like to write it down.
The bartender looks at the young Wizard as he scrambles to jot things down, “No. I guess not. You see, I have never seen you before, and this is the first time in forty years that the Elvish woman has sung a different tune. Coincidence? May be. But I am not so sure. You can’t make her sing again. She sings when she wants to sing. Sometimes she goes weeks without singing. I too would like to hear this new song again.”
It takes a few moments for the shocked bartender to gather himself, and head to the kitchen. He returns with a wooden plate that contains a chunk of bread, a wedge of cheese, and a couple of pickled onions. He also pops the cork on another Sassafras Beer. And finally, he hands the young Wizard a key, “Upstairs, first room on the right. That will be a gold and two more silvers.”
(Everyone can take a Short Rest if you need to.)
UPSTAIRS:
TARINA will look at the rogue, “And your name? Trust me, if I can put a bolt into Dead-Eye’s last good eye, I will do so.” She picks up her crossbow and quiver of bolts. She slides the pan flute into a pouch belt. “And yes, once we kill Dead-Eye then taking the ship will be next.”
TARINA looks at KHESSA, tears form in her eyes, “Thank you. I don't want to run anymore.”
When KHESSA speaks with RAHIMA, “Ooh, I will be glad to help. TARINAis such a fascinating person.” She then whispers to the Warrior, “She is a Pirate you know. Exciting!” The exotic cleric leaves the other game and readies herself with staff in hand.
(Go ahead and position your token to where you want to be should trouble arrive.)
"Name's Atlas," he says as he reaches out a friendly hand. "Having the favor of a seemingly trustworthy pirate may be good for someone in my line of work."
As Atlas peeks downstairs to investigate the commotion, realizing that he was wrong and Dead-Eye is in fact not here yet, he is slightly relieved. Hearing the new song and snippets of the conversation between the barkeep and Elias, Atlas makes a mental note of the song. Though he may have a slightly skewed sense of morality, he does not believe in coincidence. With that he will head back up the stairs and ready himself with Khessa's plan in mind. Atlas takes a seat at the opposite side of the table where they had played bones and while waiting he will pull out his deck of cards and begin to fiddle with them in seemingly magical ways.
Grabbing my gear and food, looking over at Taz, we might want to get upstairs and put a plan together. Head up to my room. Stow my gear and step back out with the plate, offer some to my mates. Khessa, if all these other doors are tenants then should we make then aware of what might happen? I've got to spend some time with my spell book so I'll be in there, but will leave the door open. heads to my room to start studying.
"Good point" Khessa agrees - and warns the other people that a gang of bad guys could try to come up at any moment with belligerent intentions. "My friends and I will do our best to prevent those scoundrels from hurting anyone," she concludes "but if any of you, even just from the back lines, are available to contribute to the defense, the more we are the sooner it ends - and the more likely it is that it will end well".
The blonde warrior would have a mad desire to study magic together with Elias and looks at him with practically yearning desire... but she doesn't feel like it now - not when scoundrels could arrive at any moment to hurt a poor defenseless she-pirate.
The tall adventuress therefore remains stationed at the top of the stairs...
[OOC: from an airport lounge, finally on my way home!]
After loosing to Atlas... "so close Raynoir says quietly to himself, that was fun", noting as soon as Atlas collects her winnings the atmosphere changed and people began to move downstairs as Ray prepares to move he hears this beautiful music coming down stairs. "Hmm another new experience"and with haste goes to listen.
Ray, notes the music stops and he continues to reflect on its beautiful melody. He can see a lot is indeed going on but not sure what he should be doing. He Sees a tall blonde powerful looking adventuress standing guard atop the stairs.
"Hmmm, nope not going to get past that one".So he considers moving closer to the bar and getting something to eat while continuing his solitary watch around him and oddly enough enjoying all that is going on around him. Maybe he'll hear some useful stuff, he is a bit of curiosity for some ... who knows?
reviewing my notes from the elf maidens new lyrics, I wish she would sing it again. Trying to recall what I can of the lyrics by singing them back to "her" in elvish,
O sing a song of Elturel
When foes are at her door
Her fields torn by cloven feet
From some infernal shore.
Arise the mighty Hellriders
Take up your swift, keen swords
Then charge into the hellish fray
And scatter devil hordes.
Just one more time fair maiden, one more time and I think I'll get it...
(I see that Atlas, Elias, and Khessa have positioned their tokens on the map. Has Raynoir and Tazzavur positioned their tokens on the map? I will wait to make sure everyone is positioned before moving on. And if you need assistance, please let me know.)

RAYNOIR joins ATLAS at the table. The Rogue pulls out a deck of cards. RAHIMA takes notice. “Ahh cards. My favorite. Occasionally, a game of Calimshan Hold Them comes up. Unfortunately, it is hard to find an honest dealer.”
TAZZAVUR will return to a seat near the fireplace.
KHESSA tries to warn people upstairs of coming trouble. But no one seems to care. The warrior takes a position at the top of the stairs.
TARINA moves behind KHESSA.
ELIAS is in his room, but he is not there long when you can hear a disturbance on the ground floor.
Eight motley humans saunter into the tavern. The leader is a brawny man with a cloudy right eye, a cruel sneer, and a pirate’s swagger. The others are an unsavory, rowdy bunch who act as if they own the place.
“We’re looking for an old friend of ours,” says the dead-eyed man. He sniffs the air. “Goes by the name ‘Tarina,’ or so I’m told. Loves to cheat at Baldur’s Bones.”
He looks around and does not see Tarina, “A mug of ale for anyone who tells me where Tarina is?” Immediately, a patron at one of the center tables points up.
The brawny man looks at two of his pirates, “You two, go get her and drag her down here.” Two of the Pirates head to the stairs. The lead one stops when he sees a formidable looking blonde woman at the top of the stairs. He sees Tarina behind her.
