Twiggy looks around at the shop and while doing so remembers what it looked like from the outside when they first approached.
"If it were up to me... I would run."

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
(One of the outside party members hands Amdaeng 100 gold)
"Ah" he says, looking the Twigger over, "A survivor. Very sensible!" he says approvingly.
Dietrich scurries through piles of crates, scrolls, and half finished contraptions, muttering to himself as he digs about. "Essence of the Veil.....Essence of the Veil....ah! No, that one dissolved the cork." He looks more, "Oh, there you are, you beautiful menace."
He returns holding a small obsidian box, polished smooth but etched with faint runic lines that shimmer when touched by the light of the workshop. He sets it on the counter with exaggerated care.
"Handle this gently. Extremely gently."
"Essence of the Veil. The scent that topples kingdoms, inspires sonnets, and starts wars if the bottle goes to the wrong person." He smiles.
Twiggy appears to be more relaxed now that Dietrich has apparently approved of her decision. She hovers over a little closer to him and points back at the mixture of the two liquids.
"What is that anyway? Is it dangerous?"

"Tea and dye? Why don't they mix together? Is there something special about one... or both?"
Twiggy flies back over to watch the swirling liquids in fascination.

"Can you recommend an inn or tavern nearby where travelers could spend the night?"
Twiggy continues to hover where she was, nearby to Dietrich and shows no signs of any urgency to leave. When Amdaeng opens the door to leave Zarbyn will enter to finally meet Dietrich himself.
"Hail and well met, my name is Zarbyn and Twiggy is my familiar. You mentioned earlier you were looking for an apprentice and I couldn't help but notice some signs of... distress when we first approached, at least for a perfumer's shop. Would you be able to satisfy my curiosity, I have few questions?"
Upon his entrance Twiggy will fly over and land on Zarbyn's shoulder. Zarbyn will use the contact to reestablish his Gaze of Two Minds feature with Twiggy.

"Ah, that makes sense, a familiar. Yes, yes, I tend to have a sort of black thumb at times. Making things here and coming up with concoctions, some things tend to explode. But, business is good and I am a good teacher, so if your interested we could talk more. What questions do you have?"
(Zarbyn or another PC could do a history check to see if they have heard anything about Dietrich Zuvember)
"As for a places to go tonight the Execution Hill District is the closest to here, just to your east and has a number of inns and taverns.
The Rat in Hand Tavern has good gambling and a very unusual game they play. Food and ale are good at The Gargoyle Tavern. I go there for stew when something if the lab explodes and makes cooking… inadvisable."
He looks outside for a moment. "I can see that some of your companions are elves. The Red Lantern Tavern is run by triplet half-elf sisters. Some strange rumors circulate their establishment about demon worship but I doubt they are true.
Make sure you stay away from Varag’s Splendid Alehouse. A complete tourist trap. Probably the best place to sleep is the Sun and Seven Stars Inn. Those who have a family member being executed get special rates there. Relatively safe, good views, but the most expensive for private rooms."

"As agreed, 100 gold pieces please."
Twiggy appears to be more relaxed now that Dietrich has apparently approved of her decision. She hovers over a little closer to him and points back at the mixture of the two liquids.
"What is that anyway? Is it dangerous?"
Dietrich laughs.
“Well, if you must know it’s a mixture of tea and dye. I’m constantly looking for an apprentice and find people’s answers and reactions interesting.”
"Tea and dye? Why don't they mix together? Is there something special about one... or both?"
Twiggy flies back over to watch the swirling liquids in fascination.
“Well no, I lied. Very intuitive of you. One is oil, and one is water with dye. That is why they do not mix.”
Amdaeng handed the money over, very gently and carefully took the perfume.
She nodded thanks to the shopkeeper then turned to leave....
"Thank you for your business. If you or your little friend are interested, we could discuss an apprenticeship." He smiles,
“Strange…” he mutters, glancing toward the chimney where the fire sputters unexpectedly.
“Shouldn’t be this cold in Blacksand this time of year.”
He waves a hand dismissively, though his eyes flick toward the dim street outside.”
“Well then… that’s your purchase. But listen”
his voice drops to a low murmur,
“Do be careful out there tonight. The city changes after dark.”
He leans slightly closer, eyes wide behind singed eyebrows.
“The alleys grow teeth… the gangs get restless… and travelers with coin make very easy targets.”
" Good to know."
" Good night."
Amdaeng headed outside and indicated to the others that they should get moving.
"Can you recommend an inn or tavern nearby where travelers could spend the night?"
