Lev doesn't offer his name, not feeling like it matters much at the moment. He eyes Iolinder, unsure what to make of the cleric's words.
He follows the others into the lift, already preparing himself to volunteer to be the one to get lowered towards the lava. For some reason, he feels like whatever happens he won't be allowed to die here, so better to let himself be the one put in danger than allow any of the others to take the risk.
After two cycles of the lift, the entire group makes it to the depths below. It is warm and humid in the mines. Ahead is a room with rubble, 50 feet by 40 feet in length. On the south side is a long staircase headed down lower. To the north east corner is a passage 10 feet wide cut out of the wall.
(You can try to organize yourself on owlbear rodeo if you like)
"So I guess we need to find the key first in order to open the box and get the gloves needed to retrieve the anvil?"
Zarbyn looks from the stairs leading down in the South to the passage in the Northeast wall.
"Which way first?"

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"Hm...Perhaps we search this level first, then move down?"Lira suggests, already slipping into the shadows as she heads over to scout the passage, watchful for traps and natural hazards alike.
A stairway goes down into the darkness (more than 60 feet). somewhat fresh kobold tracks lead down the stairs as the dust of the passage is unsettled. The main room has rubbish, rocks, dirt and is otherwise unremarkable. The passage goes on 30 feet, but a pit drops (similar to the lift pit) but there are no gears or ropes. You can take a closer look if you wish with any safety concerns.
The lower mines are fairly warm, dingy and a bit smokey to the smell. It is dark down here so anyone who needs a torch will need to light one unless someone provides magical lighting.
Iólinder will post himself at the stairs watching for any movement/sound from below. He will also make a mental note to acquire a means of magical light on the near future. (Likely at a level gain)
Zarbyn will keep Twiggy close and continue to use his bonus action to share Twiggy's senses as they explore. They will move into the room and wait to see what the others do and where they go from here.
"Mind those Kobold tracks. They're down here somewhere and we need to be ready for when we encounter them." Zarbyn offers in a whisper loud enough to be heard by his allies.

Morric and Zarbyn take a quick peak down the pit to the north. There is a long primitive step ladder going down into the darkness below (more than 60 feet)
The stairs lead down to the south, and have the tracks of the Kobolds on them. Lira can see down about 60 feet.
Zarbyn whispers to Morric and Lira, "Looks like some kobolds went this way, it could be a chance to deal with them, what do you think?"

While still continuing to maintain his Gaze of Two Minds, Zarbyn will have Twiggy cast Invisibility and try to sneak ahead just until she gets her first peek at some kobolds, the plan being not to get surprised and have a count of how many there are, and what they're currently up to.
"I'll send Twiggy to do some invisible scouting."

The stairway is steep and primitive. It decends some 80 feet to a passage that turns to the east, left 90 degrees. It continues into the darkness beyond. Various rubble seems strewn about. The walls are rough carved on both sides but the floor seems solid enough. Neither Lira or Twiggy see any traps, but the kobold footsteps seem to continue. On the walls are several sconces holding unlit torches. At the edge of their vision, is a pile of rubble, various minerals such as coal, iron ore, and quartz. You know that in the room ahead on your map are several pit traps.
Lira approaches the room with the pit traps, making sure to avoid them. She looks for more kobold tracks, wondering if some or all of them ended up falling. The thought brings back painful memories of Cache 2, but she's able to keep calm by petting Snowball's fluffy head as he peers out of her pack.

Iólinder ready to head down. Not sure if he went yet or not.

Amdaeng hangs back extremely adamant about not wanting to go anywhere near the lava.

Amdaeng has left Ning above to guard the elevator so they have a way back up.
She follows Lira at a distance of 20' so as not to interfere with the almost inhumanly silent and shadowy former cultist....
Morric will light a torch if no magic light is forthcoming. He will hold it with his shield and has his flail in his other hand

Lira nods. "It would be best to stop them here."
Amdaeng nods as she follows.
Lira follows the kobold tracks down cautiously, keeping an eye out for traps.
