Amdaeng sat bolt upright at the howls, looking around.....very unused to sleeping out in the open....when the large canine form came out of the shadows she looked to the others, " Um...."
Paevira opens her eyes from the brightness of the fire, her meditative rest coming to an end. Hearing the howls and the activity of her awakening party she straps on her rig and grabs the crossbow and looks to see what needs ending.
As you awaken, you hear more than see multiple howls. Iólinder mentions three wolves but you might guess more. the river can serve as a defense at your back, and trees may provide some partial cover.
Vydar (dark vision 120) sees 5 wolves. They are quite large. One seems interested in a crate. They have not attacked, perhaps scared of the fire. Those with 60ft dark vision know they are out there but can barely see anything….yet. ( Will wait for other initiatives.)
Knowing full well he won’t get much rest before his watch , Vydar shifts around restlessly unable to get comfortable.
Then he hears a howl.
At first he doesn’t think much of it. Wolves are skittish creatures that don’t typically hunt people. However, he sits up slowly when hearing multiple howls that seem to be getting closer. Looking around he sees the five large wolves. They don’t seem hostile at the moment, but they are definitely hungry. Not to mention they don’t look like normal wolves.
Lev, having grown used to the sounds of howling during his many times sleeping in the wilderness, is a little slow to react. Really, it isn’t until the fire flares up from Iolinder’s spell and everyone else starts moving or talking that Lev actually stirs from his meditation.
Wolves? Usually such creatures don’t attack for no reason, there really shouldn’t be anything to worry about… His eyes narrow upon seeing the beasts. Well, maybe there is something to worry about. Darn.
Huffing, he grabs his glaive and stands up. Initiative: 7
Amdaeng wasn't sure what was happening but figured if a wolf pack was anything like a street gang if you made the biggest one run away then the smaller would follow....with that in mind she palmed two throwing blades and launched them at the biggest wolf.

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
To Paevira, "I was telling a tale in bar a while back and she paid me 10 gold to tell her in more detail, a private performance you might say. She was interested in finding out about Shareella even then. Now that she's given her life to find the 5 locations of each artifact it seems like we should try and destroy them to prevent an Ice Age. That's basically saving the world."
Waking and scrambling to his feet, "Wolves! How many?" Zarbyn draws a dagger.

Knowing that the light of the fire would only be strengthened for a minute or so by his divine command made Iólinder quickly grab his crossbow and load a bolt. He fired the first one at the wolf Paevira targeted and swiftly followed it up with a second bolt as fast as he could manage. He stayed close to the fire in case the wolves got to close. Like any sane creature they feared the flames.
Action: shooting wolf Attack roll: 16 Damage roll: 3
Iólinders first shot finishes the first wolf, as it drops to the ground. His second. Shot misses.
Seemingly angered by the death of their companion, 4 wolves move in. One dashes toward the wagon, jumping on the two large crates and sniffs the contents of them, then lets out a mournful howl.
The three others head toward the party, 40 feet (now 30 feet away from the party and fire)
Amdaeng Throws to wicked looking blades, and a second drops to the ground
(All remaining init)
1 on Wagon on top of the crate, two wolves 30 feet away)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Although it's almost a reflex by now to go for a dagger Zarbyn realizes that his eldritch gifts might be more suited to ending this danger. He fires an eldritch bolt at one of the wolves about 30 feet away.
Attack: 11 Damage: 9 force damage.
"One of them is distracted by the crates, focus on the others first!"

“Five!” Vydar replies to Zarbyn as he snatches up his satchel and prepares to cast a spell.

Lev and Vydar notice something around the wolves necks. Some sort of band or collar.

The wolf is severely damaged by a beam of crackling energy from Zarbyns blast. It doesn’t look good.
