(You reach a small empty wooden room. You hear thunderstorms coming from above, outside the house, despite being a sunny day when you entered. In front of you, you can see a metallic door whose hue is continually shifting through all the colors in the rainbow. There is no handle, but a large silver lock is visible in the center of the door.)

Liam will try to open the door.

(its locked. and the last time that i checked, none of you have the key.)

Expos will try to open the book that is in the door. He will note which color the rainbow hue of the door is when he tries, and will try to open the book for each color as they cycle if necessary.

(i never said that there was a book)

I'll try pressing the blue apple I took against the door while the door is cycled to blue.

I believe we have 2 skulls, and saw a 3rd but did not take it per Longtooth's suggestion?

We have: one with a waxing crescent and one with a waxing gibbous, and did NOT take the one with the three quarter room.

Does that sound accurate?

Is there anything about the door or the room that depicts phases of the moon, or anything skull shaped?

 (that is correct. and no the door does not have anything like that)

There was another door where we saw the butler that we did not investigate, is that correct? If so we can head back to that door and open it.
