Seeing the pirates dropping like flies, Lilliana focuses her attention on the aaracokra once more! She sends yet another eldritch blue blast of energy streaking across the deck of the ship; however, hearing her companions crying out in pain causes her attack to streak well off target! 'Focus, Stargard!'
The bird woman sees her men fall and a scowls forms on her beak. She goes to slice at the ropes with extra fervor as the wind gathers at her side once more.
Attack: 10 Damage: 14
The thick rope snaps apart as she moves away and jumps over board. The ship starts to jeer about as the ropes wave in the air. Nate, you can see the Aaracokra is flying away. The wounded man reaches out to you, "Fix...that rope...or all...for naught". He then passes out.

If Liana can hit the bird with a spell that has a range of 120 ft, she is going to go for it:
Liana casts guiding bolt. Attack: 15 Damage: 17 radiant. After throwing out that last spell, she will run her movement to the rope. As she does so, she will shout to her companions, "The rope!"

(It's the rope behind the wheel, it goes down into the ship.)
Liana's bolt flies to the bird woman but is does not affect her and she's able to get away from the ship. Aidan and Gael finish the last of the pirates with swift vengeance as they retaliate against their attackers.
(Nate roll with advantage on Investigation to determine how to fix the rope.)
Aidan grimaces as he finishes one of the last pirates, then calls out to Gael and Lilli.
"Well done, mates."
He holds his wounded side as he makes his way to the stern to see if he can help.

The rope is what manages which way the rudder will turn. You can pull on it for a makeshift solution of steering but will take a strain on you. Otherwise a person that know mending can fix this in a few minutes.

OOC: If we can't fix the line, is there any way we can rig a new one? Aidan may not have been working aboard ships as long as Nate, but he has some experience.
Aidan curses as he reaches the stern and quickly moves to assist Nate with hauling on the rudder line. As he grabs hold, he nods his head toward the collapsed guard and says to Liana,
"Miss Red? Perhaps you can have a look at that fellow?"
Aidan then yells back toward the bow,
"Gael! The rudder line is severed! Maybe the VC will know how to fix it!"

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(I've got 0 spell slots left, and a bad medicine check... but here I go!)
Liana nods at Aidan. For the moment, everyone on the ship was on the same side. The side of not crashing and killing innocent people. "Do what you can! I'll tend to the wounded."
Medicine check: 2

Nate turns to Aiden and says, "I can fix it, but I'm gonna need you to hold the two pieces of rope together for a minute. Can you do that?"
(Just waiting for Aiden to see if he can actually hold this rope close together, then he'll take his 50 feet of rope, cut about two feet off, and sailor knot it back together)

Aiden gives Nate an uncertain glance, but breathes deep and attempts to hold the lines together.
I'm assuming Athletics, which will be a straight roll. Let me know if I need something else. Athletics Check:7

Gaèls eyes narrow at the sight of the unfamiliar face. "Oy. Who are you now?" He asks the figure climbing the rope. His shortswords still readied in his hands, he then quickly turns to the others. "Guys, do you remember seeing any scaly crew members on board? We got a lizard on the rope and I believe it doesnt belong to the good guys. We gotta go and check what's happening below, so whatever you're doin, do it faster!"
OOC: how much time left until lizard reaches the top?

Gael, you see an unfamiliar lizardfolk climbing up the rope. He hisses a bit in response as he continues to climb up.
Aidan, you try to pull the ropes together and the ship starts to lean...1...to the city.
Liana, after makeshift first aid, you manage to stabilize the man by tearing parts of the uniform to treat him.
Nate, while you can tie the rope, it'll cause the ship to stay in one direction as it goes.
