The ones that ran back further into the room just shake their head. And Liana's flames are weakly singing their face. While that is happening, Laurine blasts the back of the crossbowman who turns around in time to see Nate's scimitar slash across his chest. He falls back dead. Vayu charges forward, stopping short of the archers, calling their attention and getting ready to dodge.
(It's why I said front line was killed. They were a couple feet away from them and used their whole movement to avoid melee.)

Both swords connect with the pirate, the first a deep stab into the gut which was furthered dug into with his other blade. He stops moving as he fall onto Fulqrim who just just shrugs him off.
Nate pierces through the last pirate as he dashes forward. He gives a few weak cries out as he slides off and lays upon the floor. The pirates on this deck are dead and you all are victorious. As you all put your weapons away, Fulqrim sheepishly bows his head as says he will meet with you all later, as he wishes to examine something on this floor. Vayu also nods, saying he's going to check if they missed anything on this floor.
(If you wish to search the bodies of the pirates, roll for Investigation with advantage.)
Lilliana sighs and her shoulder droops a bit as the immediate danger is no passed and she quickly looks around at her companions. "What do we do now? Keep moving forward? I've...I've never done anything like this."'Check them for weapons.' The voice calls to her and she finds herself listening to confident voice as she searches the pirates' bodies.
"Isn't it exciting!"Liana's voice is full of laughter and excitement. She cracks her knuckles as she peeks through pockets for anything useful. Coin, ID, or anything that seems interesting in general. "What do you all make of this situation? I've got the guts and passion to spare, but I can't really wrap my head around it. Who would board this vessel so close to Aerovail...? I mean, I imagine my own people would, but not pirates." When Liana says 'pirates' she adds emphasis and a half-hearted shrug.

You find a pistol with a fully loaded satchel of satchel of bullets. Along with their scimitars, you find about 20 gold, from trinkets and actual gold on them.
@Liana
Besides their scimitars and the weapons you find on them. You can't see much due to your mask and miss their obvious gold and trinkets on them.
@Nate
You find a gun with a satchel only half full. For their gold, you find about 25 gold worth of trinkets and actual gold.
(Recruitment shall open once more, they might join during the next deck or the top deck. I shall still run the campaign as is and help the new players find a way to insert themselves and their story into the campaign.)
Strapping on the gun, Nate looks to the group and says, "Well, now that that's over, let's find out what the hell is goin' on on this ship." He starts heading to the next level.
Liana prods a corpse with her foot, disappointed they had nothing of interest. At Nate's voice, she perks up, "Oh yes, let's! Maybe we can take over this coup, hmm?" She follows him out.

As you all gather your new found gear, a shout sounds out, a call to the guards to rally on the top deck. Following the shout is a clash of steel and bullets being fired. It is coming from the deck above as you hear the footfall above start to thunder across the ship.
As Lilliana's hand touches the pistol the voice again whispers to her. 'Yessss, take this weapon! It will serve you well.' She quickly strips the leather baldric from the dead pirate's body and loops it around her torso. She stashes the valuable in a pocket and checks the edge on the scimitar before ensuring the pistol is loaded. She is not quite sure why, but the presence of the pistol on her hip is comforting in an odd way as she has never had any formal training in such weapons. She then follows quickly after Nate. "Be careful, Nate!"
Liana, being the crazy person she is, is quite excited to see what is really going on in the ship. She continues to follow Nate's lead, ready to assist him should another group of pirates appear looking for a fight.

As you all head up to the next deck, you see a fight between the black masked pirates and the blue clad guards of Aerovail. They clash their swords and shields against each other and the casters sling their spells. While the guards are outnumbered, they appear to be winning as they start to push them back. You see a few clerics and casters of Aerovail stand in the center, blocked off by the frontline of guards. And by them stand a human in more ornate armor, shouting commands to the troops. It seems that they want to push up to the next deck but are blocked off by the pirates. Those near the stairs aren't hostile to you as they're injured guards and a medic is tending to them. The lizardfolk joins you there and kneels by the injured folk and starts to help the medic. The medic looks confused at first but seeing as he does the proper medical treatment. She lets him do his work and notices your group.
"Um...you aren't the pirates but...aren't you all prisoners?"

"Well pirates go after the best bet, so whatever or whoever's on this ship must be worth a lot of something to the right buyer."
