Korath’s Warhammer thundered through the air, colliding with the first cultist and sending him crashing to the ground lifeless with a thud. With a swift pivot, he landed a final, decisive swing, the force knocking the final robed figure back and across the table like a rag doll.
Wiping sweat from his brow, Korath took a moment to try to calm his rage.
With the sudden melee over just as suddenly, Zinlynn checks on her new companions before investigating their attackers. What was it that one of them said about Sol's destroyer? Clearly, these were not who they seemed and may have clues about the emerging disaster. (Investigation: 16)

As you look over the bodies, one thing is clear- these people are- branded. On the side of their face, and their chests, a pair of wings are burned into their flesh.
I watch with relief as my wound heals and find that the combat is suddenly over. I notice the winged brand and try to remember if I had learned anything about it. Religion +1 8. History +1 3

And just like that the combat is finished in a sudden flurry of combat. I glance around to make certain the area is free of danger, the walk over to retrieve my dagger, wiping the blood off of the blade using the robe of one of the dead clerics. While I'm cleaning my blade, I do a quick search of the body to see if there's anything important, or valuable, to be found. Perception +1 17
Rich picks up the shield and axe from the fallen warrior, grabs any rings, necklaces amulets he may have as well. Slides the axe into his belt and draws his sword. Moves to the door and listens.
Norb follows and looks over the dead "It seems to be a cult! Which room did they come from? Perhaps we should check there?" Norberos muses out loud "I was once held high, with power untold, By those who worshipped, loyal and bold. Now I lie broken, cast from the sky. In shadows they whisper, in dark they conspire, What drives them —fear, hope, or desire?"
Gurog seems uninterested in the bodies or their possessions. He cleans his bloodied axe on one of the robes figures, leaving red smears over the previously white pristine fabric. As he is about to stand up, he sees one of the smiling masks and takes it while saying to the others, “These masks may come in useful if we need to disguise ourselves later.” Then he turns to Rich and says, “You take care of that axe, it will serve you well as long as you take better care of it than this scum did. If I see you lacking in your duties towards it, I will see it in the hands of one more suited.” Everyone at this point can deduce from his behavior with the mayors axe and now this one that his faction specialize in axe wielding and consider the axe to be something honored and respected; not on the same level as religious fanatics, but more like an unspoken rule of war which would be too disrespectful to ignore.
"The armored one said 'in the name of Sol', yet the other swore by Sol's killer." Korath shakes his head, confused. "He was not my god, but still, in his own temple..." Sighing, he reaches down to pick up a mask as well. "Let's check out that room. And where did the high priest run off to?"
Rich acknowledges Gurog's words with a nod, it's yours if you want it mate, I'm better with the sword and board anyways. pitches the ax over to him. ((Do I hear anything on the other side of the door?))
Gurog grabs the axe in the air and examines it. Investigation 7 (6+1)
He cleans the blade and promises himself he will sharpen and polish the blade at their first rest. Seeing his party nearing the door, he follows in preparation but let's them lead.
"Trickery and Subterfuge it seems....These claim to be followers of Sol but are branded and yell contradictory things...." Norberos seemingly done with standing over the dead walks towards the room they came from and opens the door

Rich, your turn.
Rich swings at one of the robed figures, 12 to hit 8 damage
Korath gives a nod of thanks to Norb for healing him, charging at the remaining cultists.
Warhammer to hit 23, damage 11.
He then uses one of his War Priest charges to attack again (same enemy if alive, other if not). To hit 18, damage 5.
Your glaive scrapes off of something under the robes of the priest, and deals no damage.
You destroy both of them. If you want, you can tell everyone how, if not, that’s fine.

Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?

Noticing the brands as Zinlynn shifts the bodies to search them, Korath tries to recall if the wing symbol is familiar from his religious studies.

(What kind of armor were they wearing under the robes? Any other weapons or items of interest?)
