Brand and Ol both notice Kost put his left hand behind his back as he says this.

Ol thinks it suspicious.

Brand, however, also saw him (likely reflexively) thumb the ring on his second finger so that the small jewel on it faced in towards his palm just before he put his hand behind his back.

Brand raises and eyebrow and asks Kosh, "Why are you hiding the ring?"

Come on then what have you summoned? I’m getting too old for this! Snarls Ol.

"What this? Oh, it's nothing of importance. A bauble, a trinket, a dalliance I found while exploring the ruins. Those lesser-evolved goblins didn't even bother with it when they raided the place."

"I have summoned nothing, I assure you. I mean you no harm"

Brand narrows his eyes at Kosh. "If it is nothing of importance, why did you make the effort to hide it?" 

Brand begins to become suspicious as he already doesnt like necromancers. "Will you show us the ring? It is not wise to lie to a cleric. What aren't you telling us?"

Persuasion check 16

"Oh fine, look." He lifts his hand

"It is a ring of protection. Quite valuable indeed. Not the ancient arcana I was hoping for, but it made the journey somewhat worthwhile"

"Anyway, I've nothing to tell you about magic swords. Someone was mumbling about a magic battleaxe in the town I picked up the zombies I reanimated, if that's any help."

"Anyway, nothing more for me here. Unless there's anything else, I'll be off"

Brand shrugs an looks at Ol as he found the exchange pointless. 

"Shall we go hunt the goblins?"

Ring of protection? How does that work? spits Ol sarcastically 

Ol, thinking this has been a lot of work for little meaningful gain is tempted by the ring. He has no love for the undead and even less for necromancers.

He relaxes his posture while scoffing at the ring before suddenly grabbing the handle of his club and rushing at Kosh

Kost orders the remaining 4 zombies to close down the party and then casts Misty Step, teleporting 30ft away halfway up a slope

Ol Draws his bow and takes aim and the slippery necromancer.

Kost takes an arrow to the knee

Brand looks at Ol firing his bow, Kost vanishing and reappearing only to get struck by an arrow, and the undead closing them down.

Brand casts Turn undead and then moves 30ft towards Kost
