Brand feels like he forgot something in the excitement of the amount of coin for his friends and tithes for his Lord.
"Hmmmmm....Hmmmm......"
Brand scratches his head and then something clicks in his head.
"Ah, yes. Ol and Lucius after we finish your shopping, can we head over to Shrine of Luck before departing? While I was selling our spoils, I met and oldtimer called Farmer Narth. Narth told me that one of the Sisters from the Shrine of luck recently returned wounded and exhausted after leaving town for a few days. Would you mind if I or we paid the Shrine a visit? As a cleric and acolite I cannot simply ignore the suffering of my people colleagues."
“This is better and more like the armour I was used to” says Ol as he returns “I’ve grabbed some more arrows and a tent, it’s only for two mind” he says while casually observing a maiden walking by. “I’ve kept this club but I yearn for a real blade - so if you see something folks…….”
As the party crosses the town square to head to the Temple of Luck, they are approached by a dark haired human woman in her early 30s. She is wearing exquisitely tailored clothing, especially compared to what seems to be normal for the people of Phandalin
She flashes a quick smile and extends her hand in greeting.
"Gentlemen, I believe you are the ones our town has to thank for getting rid of those boorish thugs. You have done us a great service"
Brand takes her hand and bows respectfully towards it and then straightens.
"All is as Horus-Re, light of the world, wills it. I am Brand Arclight m'lady, this is Ollanius Persson and Lucius Blackmane." Brand says while making a sweeping gesture towards his companions.
Brand then clasps his hands infront of him and asks "To what do we owe the pleasure of your company, m'lady?"
She shakes each of their hands in turn and then replies
”I simply wished to see our civic minded defenders, offer my thanks and invite you to the Miner's Exchange, should it suit your plans.
It is a trading post where our local miners have their valuable finds weighed, measured, and paid out. I am the guildmaster and, if I may say, it is a great place to meet those who spend a lot of time out and about in the countryside surrounding Phandalin. We are a veritable wellspring of local information.
I hear you captured Glasstaff as well. Very disappointing he didn't set up the constabulary. Were you able to clear out all of his ruffians?”
Brand raises an eyebrow "The Miner's Exchange's Guildmaster came personally to thank us. I feel honoured though I didn't quite catch your name m'lady?"
Brand says dispassionately, "The criminals were either purged or arrested and handed over to the Sildar. Maybe Sildar will set it up himself or find someone else who is worthy of safeguarding the people of Phandalin."
Brand considers her proposal about the Miner's Exchange and then looks at his companions. "What would you like to do? I have business at the Shrine of Luck. Would you both like to come with me or go with the Guildmaster? Or shall we complete my business at the Shrine and then head to the Miner's Exchange together?"
"My apologies, how rude of me! I am Halia Thornton.
Please, do not consider my offer a demand upon your time of any sort. Our doors are open until the small hours and I would be happy to discuss any ventures when your other dealings are complete if they are more pressing"
Lucius can tell Halia is someone who chooses every word carefully and is likely a skilled negotiator. Lucius gets the sense from how she speaks that she often already knows the answer to the questions she is asking.
“It is truly a pleasure to meet you Halia” responds Ol, as he meets her eye “Tell me, is the exchange a long standing family business or did you come to these parts a stranger like the rest our band?”
The exchange has existed in this town for several decades before I was born. I myself am from a town called Triboar originally and came here with my father as a youth.
Not to sound my own fanfare, but I will say that the exchange has enjoyed much greater success in trade under my supervision than it did before"
“Well we shall have to drop by at some point and see you. In the meantime we are likely to be at one of the Inn’s this evening if you care to join us? I will happily buy you an ale”
"If I can put my affairs in order by the evening, we shall see" she says with a coy smile
In response to Lucius
"I can put you in contact with local prospectors, you can have any valuables you find sold for a competitive price and, if it should interest you, the exchange also acts as a rather informal local records office"
Before entering Ol says to his associates “I’m not sure about Halia. Easy on the eyes maybe but she makes me feel unease. I suggest when appropriate we ask around about the Miners Exchange. For now though let’s see what ‘Luck’ this place brings to the injured women.”
The Temple of Luck is Phandalin’s only temple and is a small shrine made of stones taken from the nearby ruins. It looks a little haphazard but is well maintained. It is dedicated to Tymora, goddess of luck and good fortune.
The shrine is in the care of a young elf, a scholarly acolyte named Sister Garaele.
"Greetings travellers. May the Lady of Luck smile upon you. How can I help you?"
“Hello sister. My friend here is an acolyte and cleric and wished to come and give his assistance and expertise. We hear you have an injured sister among you. I’m not good at healing but can assist where I can”
Ol looks around taking in the Temple and its occupants.
I am the sister of whom you speak. Thankfully my injures were seen to and have started to heal. My superiors had asked me to attend to a matter involving a banshee in the ruins of a nearby town. I was not able to speak with the banshee and was set upon by bandits on my way home"

Brand returns from his selling spree and handing out the earnings to Ol and Lucius.
"I have chosen the way of Life in my growth as a Cleric, may you never worry for your lives as we journey on my friends"
"i agree, we have done much good for this town. Let's check for gear upgrades and then purge the undead, orc and goblin filth from these lands"
Brand feels like he forgot something in the excitement of the amount of coin for his friends and tithes for his Lord.

Pleasure to meet you my lady, and what might be of interest to us at this miners exchange?
Lucius turns to his companions and says "Miners do like to talk, perhaps they may have some information that may prove useful"
Lucius examines the lady her demeanour and the way she speaks to determine her intent.

Lucius can tell Halia is someone who chooses every word carefully and is likely a skilled negotiator. Lucius gets the sense from how she speaks that she often already knows the answer to the questions she is asking.
However, he senses no dishonesty in her words.
“It is truly a pleasure to meet you Halia” responds Ol, as he meets her eye “Tell me, is the exchange a long standing family business or did you come to these parts a stranger like the rest our band?”
"What a curious nature you have! Ohohoho.
The exchange has existed in this town for several decades before I was born. I myself am from a town called Triboar originally and came here with my father as a youth.
Not to sound my own fanfare, but I will say that the exchange has enjoyed much greater success in trade under my supervision than it did before"

Brand thanks Halia for the invitation, promises to follow Ol there and makes his way to the Shrine of Luck and enters.
Before entering Ol says to his associates “I’m not sure about Halia. Easy on the eyes maybe but she makes me feel unease. I suggest when appropriate we ask around about the Miners Exchange. For now though let’s see what ‘Luck’ this place brings to the injured women.”
He follows Brand.
