The eladrin huntress finally approaches the acrobatic elf, looking him proudly in the eyes with her green eyes: "But my greatest thanks go to you, Lord Danon. You were the one who more than anyone else stood by me in the moment of danger, proving yourself both full of resourcefulness" her gaze runs for a moment to the summoned brute, before returning to his eyes "and master of a fighting style whose grace is typical of our race. Your moves reminded me of those of our sword masters that I could admire in the Hill of Living Stars - with the difference that your sword was your own body; as well as a bit of elemental magic - but magic, as we know all too well, is innate in us".
Danon gives a brief bow when he is complimented by Etriel, straightening up with a smile. “You are too kind, my Lady. And very skilled with your blade. I enjoy fighting at your side.” He turns to his side, saying “And I thank you for your help, Chief Obould. That was a mighty blow with your axe..”. He turns to everyone else, saying “You all fought skillfully. I am..amazed, truly.” He follows along as they start to investigate the cave.
Danon expresses interest in 5 of the sling stones, knowing that he can use this on a target with a proper sling. He takes the most interest in the statue trapped beneath the ice. He uses his skill in elementalism to beckon fire repeatedly beneath the statue, hopefully thawing it from the everlasting ice. He looks over his shoulder at the lid to the fancy tomb, saying "I can help you if you need it, to help you shift the lid off... let me know...". He considers for a second, then turns to the Chief, saying "Chief, go help them lift that lid off, it should be nothing for you to move it....". With a grunt and a nod, the Chief moves over to do so.
Cirim will pick up the Healer's kit, as well as the moss agate. [unless someone grabbed it]
She will check in with Sparks, who is on guard at the cave entrance. While she was impressed with everyone in that battle, Idalie's confidence could not be ignored. She has heard the tales of Holy Paladins slaying evil dragons. Performing deeds above and beyond that of mortals. He is fierce no doubt, Cirim is excited to watch him in future battles.
"Thank you" she says to Neldak when he hands her some coins, bringing her out of her thoughts. She puts them into her pouch without thinking, but in the back of her mind realizes she was just given enough coins to require two hands to hold, that has never happened in her life. But she is not hear for the coin.
She follows the other, her finger wavering, ready to channel her Priestess magic.
"In that case, dear Lord Danon," Etriel Darastrix smiles at the gallant elf "it is fortunate indeed that we elves are blessed with such an extended lifespan; you will surely have many opportunities to be at my side - especially if you love to travel almost as much as I do" and when he begins to employ his supernatural powers to melt the ice imprisoning the statue, she promptly cooperates with her sorcery, repeatedly summoning sudden bursts of fire.
Later, in front of the tomb, as Chief Obould prepares to lift the lid, the foreign traveler speaks for the first time to the summoned Orc: "Please accept, valiant King of Fighters, my thanks for your assistance, both past and present, along with my apologies for not being more prompt in expressing my gratitude. Your assistance has been welcome and valuable - surely no less so than it will be now".
The eladrin huntress is usually more interested in landscapes, new horizons and the cultures of their inhabitants, than in simple tombs... but this time she is intrigued. In this cave - apparently anonymous and forgotten, it was possible to find two interesting works of art. And one of these works could allude to the consecration of this place to Silvanus. Perhaps the tomb also hides peculiarities that will add charm to this place - a place with a much more mysterious and rich nature than it would seem at first sight.
It takes a combined strength of 50 to open the tomb. The orc has 18 str.
Obould, Etriel, Neldak and Idalie together can open it. Revealed are the bones of a female human, her tribal garb reduced to dust and tatters. In her left hand is a pearl, and the right hand has a wand.
The pool is seven foot deep. The ice can be melted but with cantrips, it takes a while. Nothing of note happens once the ice is melted, but you can clearer see that the statue seems to have been sculpted by magic due to the lack of any tool markings visible.
"That could be useful." Neldak eyes the pearl. "I'll admit I have been trying to save up to purchase a pearl as a spell component and that wand must hold a great deal of power." Neldak glances up at the pictograms showing the chieftain and the wand. "It's amazing that this tomb has been untouched with those creatures living here, but that lid was quite the struggle to remove."
Etriel Darastrix's lips part slightly in wonder, as she discovers the mortal remains of the same wich-chieftain she has recently finished drawing from cave paintings.
"Perhaps these remains were indeed protected just by the weight of the lid, Lord Neldak..." the foreign traveler ponders "Or perhaps by the watchful eye of Silvanus, since the statue appears to have been produced by magic - as one would conclude from the lack of any tool markings visible... Or perhaps by the magic of this mystical figure itself, since the pearl, as you reveal, can serve as a spell component and the wand as an arcane focus - if it is not magical in itself".
Driven by curiosity, the eladrin huntress instinctively draws on her elven heritage and calls upon the innate magical powers of her species: a melodious whisper and a quiet gesture are all it takes for her green eyes to become a more vivid green, almost as if they were glowing with their own light... and to begin to perceive any magical auras.
[[ OOC: Etriel Darastrix uses her Detect Magic high elf elven lineage spell. ]]
Danon motions for Chief Obould to come over, he points down at the statue and says, “Chief, can you lift that statue up for me, bring it up here, I’d like to get a better look at it. Thank you for helping us investigate the spoils of our victory as you have done in the past, I'm sure....". He gestures down to the statue and awaits the Chief to bring it to him.
"I congratulate you, Lord Neldak," Etriel Darastrix shares what she has learned. "The pearl that has caught your eye is magical, as well as precious - and the wand holds indeed power, though how great I cannot determine. And to my surprise I see emanations of magic emanating from the statue of Silvanus as well. There is truly more to this place than meets the eye".
Noting that the stature is effectively a shaped outcropping of rock and it can't be separated from the base of the pond even with Obould's attempt, the foreign traveler comments, "Perhaps the magic the statue emanates comes from how it was created, rather than from any actual usable power".
The eladrin huntress tries to turn the wand between the fingers of the spectral hand, bringing it close to her eyes and looking for any clues to its function or any magical words carved into it.
Danon abandons the statue, walking over to where the others are gathered around the tomb. He nods to Chief Obould who follows behind him. “What did you find? I suppose we should gather the mead and return? Should we take the head of this foul creature as proof?” Danon turns and looks at the body, a look of distaste on his face, he glances around the room for anything else to uncover.
"I hope that bringing back to Good Mead both the stolen mead and the other things that could be useful, such as the bear's meat and the flock of sheep, should be sufficient proof of the success of our mission, Lord Danon" Etriel Darastrix evaluates. "If we really wanted to add further proof of the evildoer's demise, my suggestion would be to bring back only his head. An expedient perhaps uncivilized and barbaric, I admit, but one that would simplify our logistical issues".
"First, however, I would have liked to know more about the powers of these enchanted treasures..." the foreign traveler is continuing to examine at least the wand; but in the meantime she turns her green eyes to each of the other members of the party "I wonder if any of our so versatile company of defenders of the Dale has the ability to determine it quickly?"
"Should be easy enough using this pearl. The pearl's additional magic is more that I need for the spell." Neldak will gently pick up the pearl and ritually cast identify on first the wand then the pearl itself.
And I will say you can cast identify on the statue (detect magic would give an aura of abjuration magic, which doesn't fit with the creation of it), but due to it being underwater, it would have to be a spell slot unless you have a way to not breathe for 10 minutes.
Sadly, Neldak only has it available as a ritual at the moment. He didn't have it prepared for the day since he didn't have the spell component until recently.
In fact, rereading the module, due to the height of the statue, despite the lake being described as 7ft deep, to reach the statue it says you only need to get through 1ft of ice, so you could reach it from the surface. Probably cast your ritual while sat on the head. Assuming you do this as well (no reason not to), the identification is in the spoiler.
The statue blesses the pool, such that any creature that drinks from it gains the benefit of a greater restoration spell. This magic is suppressed while the pool is frozen. A given creature can gain the pool’s benefit only once.
Idalie holds up her blade over the defeated monster's neck.
"Of course we should bring back its head!"she says cheerfully. "We should make sure that all the good people of this land know that the horrible monster has truly been defeated, beyond the shadow of a doubt! I'll be more than happy to claim the cranium of this evil oaf!"

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

Both pearl and wand are magical (as is the statue if you check there)
