Taxidea turns to Rikas with an angry look. "Whoa whoa whoa! I'm no thief! I'm not talking about taking something from someone who doesn't have much, and I'm not talking about being greedy here. All I said was that it was tempting to pay ourselves. And maybe there's something here that can help us." He stalks angrily around the treasure, mumbling, "guy better watch who he's accusing of being a thief..."

Armeros heads back into the room as well, tail flicking back and forth in thought as he studies the pile of items. "Hm...Nothing that can do direct harm. This does seem like a hoard our goddess of 'goodness' would have, not Shigh. Perhaps the trickster goddess stole all of this as well. In that case, we'd be justified in relieving her of it, yes? Especially if it's to aid in our mission. A shame we can't carry all of it..."
"We are all here for different reasons, mostly desperation, but I'm not sure that's true for all of us. Even good guys can do bad things when desperate. Perhaps we just destroy the staff once we find it, then nobody can use its power as clearly neither of those in play can manage it." Xondario wonders if they could use the staff to get themselves back, then this good goddess bad goddess crap is over. Though perhaps she would just force others to try and steal it from them, or maybe she herself is desperate and he just pointed out what desperation can do to a good person...
Jasmine, still invisible, speaks, "I ssstill do not trussst this hoard. It was too easy getting to it. I do not think it would be a good idea to touch it. However..." She pauses, "Armeros may be on to something. A pile of treasure that's composed of things that can do no direct harm. If this is the good goddess's stolen possessions, then maybe we ought to carefully search it to see if the staff is there?"

Taxidea spins around to glare at Rikas. "Ah well, let's see...since we weren't so much 'hired ' as much as 'abducted and threatened with death in a void if we didn't help' I would say 'yes' the person who abducted us has some pretty freaking clear ulterior motives! No! You know what? Now that you mention it, we absolutely deserve some of this treasure!" He stalks around the pile a little more then stops, casts mage hand, and uses it to pick up a large ruby from the top of the pile and puts it in his pack. "This is mine. Payment for being forced to do this job. Anybody got a problem with that? Too bad. Don't care. Now, if you guys really think the rod is under this pile, I guess we better start digging." He starts to dig into the pile, casting things behind him as he searches for signs of the rod.

"Gold and trinkets are one thing, but a powerful rod to which is being used supposedly for chaos, that's another. I'd bet all the gold in there that the rod isn't." Xondario still staying towards the rear of the group as a rear guard so he isn't going past but is getting anxious to push forward.
