"YA, WE'LL COME DOWN TO TALK. A COUPLE OF US TO TALK TO A COUPKE OF YOU." Xondario looks at the others, "Alright, two of us to delay and talk if something can come of that. The rest try and puzzle out this drip off. If there is no way passed then it's not the way to the top, nor Flynt getting passed it. Plus we are to far away for any big booms from here, and they are pretty cluster together right now. I'm fine going to guard but someone else shoukd do the talking, also good to try and find a way past this thing."
Armeros sheathes his blade reluctantly, nodding to Xondario. "I'll be more use talking than trying to get past this gap. I've already made quite an impression, after all."
There are at least 30 or so men, crowded into the hallway, several of them still on the top steps.
I assume by that you mean Flynt is investigating the star? Flynt, discovering that standing on the start makes the voices stop, probably at some point will stand on it for a while. The longer he stand on it, the more the area around him transforms, into a stark, barren, and cold field. The grass is brown, clearly dead. There are no trees or bushes, and as far as he can tell there is no end to the field. He turns around, interested in his finding, and though it wasn't there before there is a huge mountain behind him, housing the biggest, blackest, most fiery gateway he has ever seen. Beyond the massive stone pillars on either side, (clearly constructed by the hands of a master(s)) is nothing but the thundering sounds of hammers on anvils and picks on stone. (At his feet is a circle of floor from the tower, the start still sitting there.)
(Doesn't say how big the circle is or star is, so I decided it was a good portal size, about 3ft in diameter.)
With no real understanding of how he arrived, where he's at or how the portal that brought him here will react once the pressure on the star is released, Flynt dives off the star.
Oh, yeh. That's about right. Flynt dives off into the tall grass, and behind him there is a silent, rather large, flash of purple light. The piece of floor is gone, the star as well. In it's place is a glowing, clear glass orb. There is a crackling of energy around it, and the air around it seems a bit distorted. The ground is now a patch of scorched earth.
Standing up and dusting himself.off, Flynt looks over the the new area. Seeing the burn scar left by the portals appearance he prudently decides not to approach it. Instead he decides to head to the only signs of civilization and turns towards the gate. He approaches the area cautiously trying to avoid coontact until the last possible moment. He takes time to observe what's going on in order that he might figure out the best way to make contact without raising alarm.
((No I activated it some time after entering the tower when the group was still in the first room. I activated it to avoid a group of guards and then we headed to the 2nd room, the one with all the treasure, afterward.))
"Alright, let's figure out this problem before they get back, what do we got? I can probably toss something that far, rope with something heavy at the end of it." Xondario looks at the gap, " Perhaps there is a hidden path we just can't see yet."
Zulk Ok, I'd say you've been invisible for roughly 15 minutes now.
As a few of the party members get closer to the enemy, the man in blue cautiously moves forward and meets them halfway, his brutes right behind. "I assume you aren't coming to surrender, and you know you can't fight us, so you must want to talk. Fine by me, it may save us from any and all conflict. So, how can i help you?"
MrJanuary As you approach the gate, you get a feel of just how big it is. It's about 6 times taller than you, so roughly 75 feet tall. The sounds of hammering get incredibly louder the deeper you go. On the topic of going deeper, inside the gate is, like in Shighs tower, a seemingly endless hallway, with more beautifully intricate gate lining the walls. Like the entrance, the scale of the cavern is massive. Judging by what little you've seen so far, it's a safe guess that this is the home to some sort of troll or giant clan. Which is proven to be true when shortly after entering, you see 3 large figures exit a side room and start coming towards the door. You have a few split seconds to do something, or just stay still.
Jasmine will take advantage of her Invisibility and go with the group that went to talk for added protection in case things turn south. Getting a surprise attack should it be needed would always be nice.
Armeros tries to quell his disdain for the man in blue as he approaches, giving a practiced polite smile as he tries to size the human(?) up. "Indeed we are. You do seem eager for a more...peaceful resolution to this than I would expect, so we might as well try being civil. I am Armeros." The Illrigger gives a slight bow. "And as I'm sure you know, we have come for the staff. It is our goddess-assigned mission, just as guarding this tower is presumably your own."

Armeros tilts his head quizzically at Manty's seemingly real confusion. "The goddess of goodness' staff? Stolen by the trickster goddess, Shigh? Ah...trickster." He sighs in annoyance, crossing his arms. Could all of their leads be wrong...? He isn't sure, but wonders what all these people believe they are doing here. "What is this place really, then?"

Flynt makes the attempt to leave the circle with a leap.

What do you mean? Maybe I didn't give the right picture. He can just step off.
((I should probably ask the DM... How much longer would Jasmine's Invisibility last? It lasts for 1 hour))

Let me look when you activated it, one moment.
Was it when you were approaching the tower?
Anyone else want to go to "talk"? Xondario can go but he won't be any help with words.
Xini says "Yeah. I'll go with you. I like to talk."

Armeros tries to keep his cool as he heads closer to the enemy 'delegates' with Xini at his side.

The figures are stone giants so you know what they look like, but they are much bigger than regular stone giants.

The man seems genuinely confused.
"Hopefully, well met, Armeros. I am Captain Manty Royal of the 3 squadron.
Staff, what staff? And what goddess?"
Armeros tilts his head quizzically at Manty's seemingly real confusion. "The goddess of goodness' staff? Stolen by the trickster goddess, Shigh? Ah...trickster."
