Onyx grumbly walks down the stairs having been awakened from his drunken slumber too soon gets to the landing turning and seeing the humanoid wearing a straw hat and overalls, playing a banjo singing in a god awful tone. Onyx strides across the floor directly to the banjo playing mind flayer look alike, "What on this hellish plane of existence are you doing squid boy!?"

"Ha back to sleep with that nonsense playing? I'm surprised there are still patrons here....." he stops and looks around. Walks away from the banjo guy to the far corner of the room and takes a seat at a table. Pulls another chair close and puts his feet up on it. Crosses his arms and just stares towards the main area of the tavern where everyone is sitting.

"Ah! Thank you!" Crow is beaming as he quickly scrawls down Banjo's story. "I can't wait till Grandmother Yhara sees this!"
While the others discuss lichdom around him, Crow finishes writing down Banjo's tale in his journal and turns his attention to the papers spread before him with a look of awe on his face. He holds one page up to better inspect it, handling it with the utmost care as he studies the unfamiliar symbols. After a moment he looks up from the page, giving Banjo a curious look. "Immortal? Wouldn't that get lonely?" Crow sets the page carefully back onto the table after that and plucks up his lyre as he listens to the new song with a puzzled look on his face. It doesn't compare to the last one, but Crow still listens carefully in an attempt to memorize the lyrics and notes.
"Well, I won't be the only immortal one. Once I get bored of living in this plane, I'll move to another. I'm sure the elementals and such will be around for a long, long time. Before that, I'll wipe out those brain-sucking squid-headed slime-covered mind flayer fiends and every single one of their allies."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I see..." Crow nods and thinks for a moment, tapping his chin with a claw. "I've never met an elemental before, but Grandmother Yhara's told me stories about them." His eyes grow wide then as an idea hits him. "Maybe you can get them to join your band! I bet earth elementals really know how to shake things up."
He grins and chuckles to himself, proud of his own pun, and plays a few practice chords on his lyre."I don't remember anything about squid men," he says as he plucks at the strings, "but they sound like bad news."
After a few more practice chords, Crow attempts to mimic the previous song.
Let's see how well bird boy memorized those notes. Performance: 11
When the song ends, Crow is grinning ear to ear and looking quite proud of himself. "How was that? Did I get the words right?"
Wanarus looks at the metal thing on his wand and admires the craft mans ship. He then pulls out a knife and tries to carve runes of protection into the metal.
To see if its successful: 20
Wanarus is successful and a magic shield gleams over the wand.
"Wereravens?" Crow gives Banjo a curious look before the meaning of his question sinks in. "Oh! The arms." With a nervous chuckle, he scratches at his feathers and shrugs. "Maybe someone in my family was a long time ago, but I'm a Shifter. I'm Crow." He extends a hand, and with a friendly smile, adds, "Like the bird."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Shifter? Never heard of it. Whatever those are, we don't have any of them where I come from. Anyway, what brings you to this place? Seeking a drink? Panhandling for gold like me?"
Banjo begins another tune, this one nothing but banjo.

Three of the strings snap at once. Banjo Man gets to replacing them on the double.
Crow glances at his hand and withdraws it when he doesn't receive a handshake, but he doesn't seem to mind it. "Really? My clan mostly likes to keep to themselves away from outsiders. Maybe the clans where you're from are the same?" He reaches for his mug and helps himself to another swallow of ale. "I guess you could say that, though. The drink seeking, that is. I heard taverns were a good place to meet new people and hear their stories."
He taps his claws on the side of the mug and thinks for a moment before he starts scribbling in his journal again, copying the strange symbols for further practice. While he copies the symbols, he says, "Grandmother Yhara - I mean, Elder Yhara - she keeps up with all our clan's history. That's going to be my job one day, so she's been teaching me... I know it's very important, but where's the fun in hearing the same stories over and over again? So, I want to collect new things to share with my clan." He affectionately cradles his lyre in his free arm as he writes, smiling fondly as he adds, "Especially music! It's my favorite."
Wanarus' eye twitches at the sound of Crow's voice. He quickly runs over to Crow, and picks him up by the collar. "You... your kind... they killed them... right in front of me..." Wanarus pulls out his wand and begins a spell.
When Wanarus falls over, Crow takes the opportunity to quickly scramble away, putting the table between himself and the man. He watches Wanarus with fearful eyes as he tries to calm his nerves. "I'm sorry about the people you lost, Sir, truly, but I haven't hurt anyone - neither has my clan." He then shifts his gaze to Banjo and says, "T-thank you for helping me, but you don't have to hurt him... It sounds like he's been hurt enough."
