"Won't be a sec, hun, just making sure nothin's running riot here."Ragella informs the newcomer, her eyes still focued on Onyx and Despair.
Upstairs
Nia looks around and cannot see any trace of the creature, as if it had never been there. She cautiously collects the little wooden box that somehow managed to evade the mayhem. As she does, her sight goes dark as in that flicker of a second, two mini-portals open up and the hands clasp around her eyes, the cackling of the creature echoes in the room.
After Onyx hits Despair he pulls him to the bar where Raggy is, "this here thug thinks it's okay to steal in your establishment, I oughta cut his hand off" onyx reaches into Despairs pockets and takes his coin pouch back. He then shoves him away.

Ragella sighs, "Fine, Despair, here, now." She points to a seat by the bar. Her tone on the third word seems to carry some power to it. She then reaches over to the bottles behind the bar, picking up a crystalline decanter. She returns her attention to her current patrons. "Right, so whiskey. This stuff's pretty good, made by halflings if you'd believe it. Terrybundle's Traditional. Has a nice sharpness to it, gets you just right. So, are you after a single measure?"
Command vs. Despair: DC 17 Wisdom saving throw (if you wish to resist), following the command on a failure.
"Ragella."The dwarf bartender introduces herself. "Well, most call me Rag, or Raggy."She pours a large measure of the glistening whisky. The strong whiff of alcohol emenates from the bottle as it pours. "So while it's pretty interesting in taste and all, this stuff's actually pretty cheap. It'll be a silver for a double."
"Thanks Rag," Aedin says as he reaches into a belt pouch and puts two pieces of silver on the counter, "one for the glass and one for yourself."
Aedin picks up the glass and swirls the liquid around before bringing it to his nose. He closes his eyes and takes a deep inhale. Smiling he continues, "I'm getting a big dose of vanilla and oak, maybe a little caramel and dried fruits."
He takes a drink, chewing on it a bit in his mouth before swallowing it, "Oh, thats lovely. This is just what I needed. So, how long have you been working here?"
Ragella smirks, "That's sweet, hun, but not while I'm on shift. If I accepted all the drinks I get offered, then not even my dwarven stomach could manage it. You don't worry about my mouth, it isn't going to go dry anytime soon. As for how long, well this place hasn't been open too long, but there is a chain that's been around before. First week we're open to customers."
"Hey A half-elf. Well lots of people in here today." Wade then turns to Ragella. "So, raggity Ann, you in need of a bouncer? I could be a bouncer if ya want, I'm quite effective at dealing with people, wouldn't even have to pay me, it would be for fun on my part."

"Oh, you misunderstand. That was a piece of silver to pay for my drink, and the other piece for you, as a tip." Aedin says with a chuckle. "My companions and I, we were shipwrecked on some forgotten isle. I closed my eyes to take a rest and woke up outside this tavern, I can't say I'm too broken up about it. I've grown a little sick of their company anyway."
He takes another drink from his glass and nods his head approvingly. Looking over at Wade, "I'm Aedin, though not a half-elf, i'm full-on, whole elf my friend. What brings you here?"
"Well, Mr. Wade, we currently have someone being interviewed over such a position in a separate room right now." Ragella explains. "If you would care to wait a few minutes, perhaps Arnold will go through a few questions with you first."
She then returns Aedin, "That's kind, hun, but 100% tip seems a bit much. I can put it down for your next drink if you like, opening a tab."
In the meantime, by the argument between Onyx and Despair, Jeanneux the gnome appears to have casually gotten a hand crossbow readied, pointed at the pair. "You should probably do as the lady of the house says." She says with a confident smile. "Go to mummy and tell her you were naughty."
“Can I have a blueberry pie for myself then? It sounds wonderful right now.” Ellayne smiles before she watches the ending of the fight. Then she gazes at high elf for a moment before nodding as a greeting.

At Ragella, Ellayne smiles and then there may be shows a bit of sparkle in her eyes as soon as she hears a mention of magic. "That sounds wonderful. Thank you, Ragella." Onyx takes a seat at a table sitting with his back to a wall. annoyed that he could be careless and let someone get to his coin. for as long as he's been alive only 3 people have successfully stolen from him. 2 of which he found and took their hands. the other he's never seen again but by this time, old age would have taken his life by now.
Just a bit of info on Onyx for the newcomers to the tavern he is Human male in his late 30's Onyx is a human ranger with a cursed background. He also has a demon parasite living within him dormant. It has no control over his actions but if and when he dies. It will come out and feed for 30 days and find a new host. Onyx is 138 years old but doesn't look a day over 35. In between quests and any downtime he drinks so that the ghosts of his family's leave him alone. He has had 3 wives and 9 children all of which are dead. The pain of watching your kids be born to live their lives and die of old age while you remain is unbearable to him at times. He welcomes challenges that offer a chance for him to leave this plane of existence so that he can reunite with his family. Non have been worthy enough to rid him of this life though.

Aedin says to Ellayne, "I...am not sure. I closed my eyes to rest and when next I opened them, I was walking through those doors. My companions and I, we've been together for many years, and were sailing across the sea when a Kraken attacked and destroyed out ship."
"I lost almost everything with the exception of some coin and this sword. We woke on an island and have been dealing with the local inhabitants while trying to find a way off. Things have been rather tense in the group, maybe its that we've been together so long, maybe its the stress of our current situation, either way, the warm faces in this place are a welcome break."
Ragella smiles as things seem to have settled down and Onyx has his possessions back. (TBC if Despair posts again what happens to him). A moment later the tiefling chef returns with two heated plates, two freshly made pies with intricate latticework revealing the juicy interior of strawberry and blueberry. She places them on the side with two dessert forks as Ragella collects them with a hand towel to carry the hot plate. "Here we are." She says, placing them in front and Wade and Ellayne. "Careful, they've just come out of the oven. Let me know if they're a bit too sweet, Sloth has a tendancy of going a bit overboard with the sweeteners."
There is then a couple of banging noises from upstairs. Ragella looks up. "What is that girl up to up there?"
Upstairs
The creature cackles as Nia struggles to remove the hands, staggering about and tripping over a bucket. With a crash she manages to get the hands off of her face, seeing the little purple person standing on the top shelf.
