Kirra slows her pace and studies her surroundings for any sign of movement from creatures of the bog."So, ah, anyone have any ideas on how to communicate to this 'bog creature' that we are just here to talk? I'm not sure if soft music from my lyre would bring the creature about with curiosity or simply turn us into its lunch that much more quickly."
"I can try, but I'm rather blunt. So I think despite your concerns you are better suited, Kirra." He looks around at his companions "Or has anyone else a better idea?"
((Anyone going to actually use a skill, or should I just continue?))

Liam the Weak: Level 4 Human Fighter - Trying to fight against his other personality, and constantly losing.
Aodh: Level 20 Half-Elf Cleric of Life - Not really. It's a strange being that had possessed and broke down a level 20 Cleric of Life Domain, gaining his knowledge and power.
"*****": Level 1 Tiefling Sorcerer - Her family is dead, and her will is broken. She follows orders so that those that command her will allow her to die.
"Ummm, well, I'm not sure this 'creature' will like music. It may just be bothered. I guess there's not much to do? Anyone have some white cloth?" Kirra puts something white on the end of a long stick and holds it out in front of her. She begins walking slowly into the swamp, but still on the path. "Ah, Hello?! Anyone here? We come in peace. We mean no harm..." She repeats something similar every 5-10 seconds as they travel, proceeding with caution.
OOC . We need to figure out if the others are still in this campaign. One, the game will fully stall the minute you ask for Initiative rolls if people aren't participating. Two, I don't want Kirra and Welty in a fight under the assumption that they have a full party, only to find out as their HP is reduced to zero that it was really only two of us fighting.
Hopefully waiving the white flag is a thing in this world! ;)
Norlaith stares at Kirra as she waves the white flag over the bog hoping something bad isn't about to ensue. She swallows nervously but watches with rapt attention.
OOC: I'm still here, just haven't had much to contribute.
For a moment, nothing happens. As time passes, however, the group hears a voice coming from the bog.
"So another comes? Are you HER minions? Do you seek HER shard? Tell me why you wave that thing into this bog."

Kirra gives Weltschmerz a nervous glance and lowers her white flag. "Ah, hello. No, actually, we are not her minions and do not seek the shard. We were hoping to speak with you, however. Would you be willing to talk with us?" Kirra is notably unarmed, her bow on her back.
Weltschmerz will carefully watch and wait ready to attack whatever is hiding in the bog. But for now he trusts Kirra negotiations and nods to her encouragingly.
"Unless this is about the power of her mirror, there is not much for us to talk about. But I will indulge you for now. Speak, and let us...converse for a bit."

As the creature speaks, you don't hear anything that hints toward it lying about anything, however you feel as if it seems a little selfish and manipulative. It's the way it speaks. It is too confident and eery.
"Do I serve the Dusk Queen? How curious that one would have such assumptions when her creatures lie dead and dying near and around this bog. No. I am not her servant. I am simply curious about her creation...As for seeing me, are you so sure that is wise? I may be a dark Nymph for all you know."

We hear she needs the shards, and that perhaps we should ensure she does not get them back. Is that true? Do you have a shard? If so, we are not here to try to take it, but I do wonder, could you not destroy it?"
Sorry, the email notifications from DnD Beyond still seem unreliable at best. I didn't realize is was waiting on me. Love the site, but it still seems to need some work. (Formatting of text also seems to be troublesome.)
Despite Weltschmerz's effort to pinpoint the location or intentions of the voice, they could not figure out anything particularly telling in the way they spoke, nor could they figure out how close or far away the person was within the bog's depths.
"Caution allows everyone to live longer. Suspicion is only a survival instinct, after all. But worry not, I am no Dark Nymph. Not like those two from the Pool west of here. As for why I do not destroy it...Why should I? The Queen only wants the pieces back for her convenience. At any point she could possible find a way to recreate it. As for myself...I've been running experiments on it. A piece of her soul lies within it, which is rare even among magical affairs. I've been trying to figure its inner workings...Are you trying to destroy them?"

"Not necessary. My goal is to destroy the queen. Destroying the Mirror just seemed to be a possible way to do so. If you can tell us another way or where we can find her there's no need to do so." Weltschmerz says just realizing afterwards that he actually wanted to leave negotiations with Kirra.
Kirra nods at Weltschermz's words. "You seem to know a lot about the mirror and the Queen. What does the mirror do? Do you think the Queen should be destroyed? What do you want from all of this? How can we help?"
"What do I want? I could care less about whether or not that woman is dead. I've learned more about this Bog than any of her servants, so no matter how many are thrown at me, I will always have the upper hand. As for what I want...I wish to experiment on the mirror. I know what it can do, but I wish to see what happens when I introduce something else to it. If you wish, I will happily take any shards you give me."
The voice increasingly sounds less and less benevolent, though it hasn't quite reached the level of malice that would be concerning.
