Ian takes the animals to the stable and feeds them.  “The commander said nothing about coming here.  They took great losses at the bridge.  Perhaps they will regroup and come soon.”

As he passes those in need of healing, Ian uses up all cure wounds spells (6) in total.  9. And 10

All those around dropped their heads from Ian’s comment.  As Ian healed each man the spirit and hope lifted.  

Food is scarce but for a silver each you may have a meal.  There is no one keeping up with the inn so there is no charge to stay the night.

"I know its a long shop, but is there any place or person here that tends to the magikal arts?"

A stable boy points to what looks like a broken down church in the center of town.  "Over there is the only person left with any special powers."

mutters "probably a cleric but well see"    Arafiel heads in the direction pointed

Ian follows Arafiel to the church.  “What do you need the pearl for my friend?”

"Its a component for a spell i can sue to identify things my friend

As you approach the broken church,  you can see that it has taken damage from a recent assault and has been propped up by support beams.  All those in town avoid walking near the structure. It is dark inside but you have been assured that a magic user is inside.

Arafiel goes to the door and says Hello loudly

From inside the church you hear, “who goes there..... are the Orcs gone yet?”

"Yes they are gone"

Walking out of the church is a medium height but thin humanoid.  Nothing can be seen of his features as he is covered from head to foot in a grey robe, gloves and  a pure white mask.   “Are we to thank you for their departure?”

We had a part in it

Ian approaches the man in the mask.  “How long have you been battling the Orcs?”

“They started with small probing attacks and the a siege for a couple weeks.  We have been holding on and would have fallen within a couple days.  Thank you for the help.  We will need some provisions from Waterdeep or this will no longer be a town.”

"Hopefully the commander will be back soon,  they lost quite a few"  Are there any special provisions that can be had here?

“There are all the basic adventuring supplies but at a higher than normal cost.  I have a few spell casting ingredients.  It has been tough lately but once we can regroup we will be a fully stocked traveler town.  Where are you heading and what specifically do you need?”

specifically Pearls worth 100   but a pouch refill wouldnt hurt,  i may have some spare of the regular stuff if you need some

“I have one such pearl but many may be purchased back at Waterdeep or even Baldur’s Gate.”

"That is good to know,  are you willing to part with yours?
