The road to Daggerford is free of traffic with only occasional signs from the Orcs that had taken possession of the bridge. As you approach the town, you can see what remains of its protective walls and the gate that still remains closed to those who would normally come and go. Up top of the wall a few scrawny archers post up.

A very scraggly archer takes his aim away from your group and says, “never really liked that guy but they have kept us safe a few times. It has been hard for this town and only the tough have remained. “. He speaks to someone below and the gate swings open. “We don’t have much but please come in and rest.”

As you pass through the gate, you see a shell of a town that once was great. All appear to be starving and most carry some injuries. There are no young people or women anywhere. Along the tops of the walls are stacks of arrows and javelins . The guard points out a stable for the animals and the only thing that could pass for an inn. He says with a sad voice “we have little left after the Orc seige. Do you know if the Waterdeep troops are coming with supplies?”

Daggerford is less than a day ride along the main road. The other option is to follow the Delimbiyr River directly to your goal.
