Roland doesn't only notice an abundance of people going towards Frotbridge (where you came from) looking fed up, angry or annoyed, but one is talking to a companion of their's, and you hear "Ugh, those darn woodchoppers thinking they can get away with keeping us in the west? Bloody good job o' doing that, not we can't f***ing get to Frotbix..." From the sounds of the conversation as they walk past, there's a roadblock up ahead.
"My friends it appears there may be a blockage on the road up ahead. Those people were complaining about woodchoppers preventing them from moving east so they could not get to Frotbix". Roland looks to Holth, "... Or maybe they said Frostbricks. It was difficult to hear exactly what they said. Is it possible that one of you is skilled in scouting and can perhaps move on ahead to determine whether the road is in fact blocked and we must find another way, or if these people were mistaken".
"We should just approach or speak to those grumbling about the road blockage. I have known some of these woodworkers in these parts from my various travels. If they have blocked the road to Frostbix there must be a reason and not a nefarious one." Didros stops one of the folks walking in the opposite direction "Hello there! What's this you say about a blocked road? Why have the woodworkers blocked the road?"

"Bloody woodchoppers 'ave gone and blocked it up with their logs, they're saying some hobgoblins were further ahead. We ain't got the skill to brave the woods. You might, though, I ain't never seen a more capable lookin' group in my life!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Denagon, as you hug the trees, moving on further ahead of your party, you spot a gathering of woodchoppers sitting on logs or stones, playing cards. Another woodchopper is sitting atop the stack of logs, looking out towards your direction. Perception: 19
However, that woodchopper doesn't notice you. With your high stealth and perception, you can probably get closer, into earshot, if you go further into the trees and further forward.
Also, this is to Didros, Holth and Roland, Denagon seems to have disappeared during the conversation with the person going back to Frotbridge.
Didros nods "Thank you traveler" Didros turns to the others "Alright then...Hobgoblins....Well let's approach the lumberjacks and speak with them. They are not the enemy"
As you approach the woodchoppers (when I first mentioned them, I forgot the term lumberjack, so I'm just using woodchopper now) they perk up, placing their cards down. One stands up and strides over to the group. "I should inform you, there are hobgoblins further up the path. If you're intent on getting to or passing through Frotbix, be my guest and cut through the woods, but the road is dangerous from now on." He starts to walk back to the roadblock, feel free to ask him further questions.
"So, what are these.. hoblins doing? Do they have a base on the road, or something like pikes..?" Holth asks. "Also, are there poisonous plants in the woods? Like the type to make you itch for days? Because to be honest, I'd perfer the hoblins over those."
"Hobgoblins, my friend. Y'know, smart, tough goblins that gnaw at your weapon? They've probably got an encampment in there, but we are yet to locate it. As for the flora, the only poisons are those in the berry, so just do not eat the ones that look strange... Please, my friend here was once throwing up for hours trying to get it out his system... I think the river was not happy with us..." He looks away as it's ashamed or fearful of the things he's seen. "'Twas rather grim..."
"So we keep a lookout for berries and don't eat the hobgoblins. No. Wait. Strike that, reverse it. We keep a lookout for the hobgoblins and we refrain from eating the berries".
He opens his notebook, takes out a quill, and looks at the woodchopper "Can you describe to me in detail the appearance of these strange looking berries and the deleterious symptoms your friend suffered after they consumed them?"
Considering your stealth role, Denagon, you can get pretty much into the bushes meters away from the roadblock. You don't overhear much about the hobgoblins, they are just playing cards and dragonchess. If you want to get behind the roadblock, I'd allow that (It's just a pile of logs in a triangular prism sort of shape). They're is just one person on top of it, looking towards the rest of your party.
The woodchopper speaking to Didros describes the berries as "Bright pink, spherical, and they grow on bushes with white flowers that look similar to blossoms." He also explains that when eaten, a person will likely get a headache and rashes a couple minutes before they start to vomit. It's the usual poisonous berry that you've likely seen out and about.
Roland makes notes in his notebook about the Frottish Fester Berries and their symptoms.
He turns to his companions "If any of you see a bush with white flowers and bright pink, spherical berries please bring it to my attention. I'd like to take a sketch and make more detailed notes".
Didros about to explain everything he knows about the Frottish Fester Berries nods along instead with the woodchopper. “They do have medicinal value if used properly as do most things in nature. I digress. Might I make a suggestion?” Didros doesn’t wait for an answer “As you can see there are few of us and many of you. To clear the road and the hobgoblin camp, wouldn’t it make sense to work on this task together? We would be happy to help of course but there is strength in numbers”
Didros, I can't be bothered to do speech rn (I'm kinda busy and tired) but the woodchoppers agree that under you and your party's guidance, they'd be able to assist in ridding if the hobgoblins.
Denagon, you can assume that there's another roadblock closer to Frotbix that encloses the possible area in which the hobgoblins are.

"So there may be a blockage to frostbricks?" Holth takes heed of Roland's warning. "I myself have no great scouting skills, but I am willing to go."

"I can check ahead. Let's see if I can get a count of what we face at least." Denagon will attempt to scout ahead....
