If Laurel allows, Nate heads over to the work table and works at a mortar and pestle grinding whatever herbal mix she is set up for. “Happy to lend a hand. Seems demand is rather urgent.” If his presence is causing any alarm or distress he uses a quick thaumaturgy to at least dull his red eyes to a more common brown.
Blackscour, herbalism 17 (knowledge of this plant?)
It is a black leafy plant known to grow in shallow water. It tends to fall apart easily, turning into mold like spores that become hard, bitter, and sharp. They spread and grow in damp areas, including people's lungs.
Hadriana looks around the counter for the recipe book. Upon finding and opening it, she will turn to the entry for Blackscour and read the ingredients aloud for the others.
Nature to see if she knows of the ingredients and where to find them: 14
Ingredients for a large amount of curative consists of seven ironbloom mushrooms, elderwood moss, and pickled rat's tail root.
She would know that ironbloom mushrooms grow around metal and elderwood moss would grow on the Elderwood tree. Beyond that she doesn't know.
"Hm, 'seven ironbloom mushrooms, elderwood moss, and pickled rat's tail root.' Ironblooms grow around metal, elderwood moss on an Elderwood tree obviously, but I don't know about this 'rat's tail root'. Are any of you familiar with it?"
"The only person I know that might know about where to find a rat's tail root would be Ulizmila. She's a witch that lives deep in the woods. Be careful though; she's a crafty, mean thing that knows all sorts of strangeness."
Laurel sighs; "She traded that book to my grandmother in exchange for her eyesight; so who knows what she would ask for knowledge about the root, or for the root itself if she has one."
"I've never heard anything about people she liked; and that was years and years ago. I don't know a soul that got any nicer as they got older." Laurel replies; wiping sweat from her brow.
A customer with no black particles on there hands walks up. "Oh yes; just rub this on your chest each night and you'll be fine." She takes a gold from the customer and they walk away. She turns to you all and says; "Sometimes you get those that only think they are sick because others are."
"This Ulizmila sounds dreadful, demanding someone's sight in trade...Still, I suppose we have no choice for now but to try. Perhaps I can consult some animals along the way. With any luck they'll have seen the rat's tail somewhere and we won't have to deal with her after all."
"You sound sure geared to go. Then you should find Milon Rhoddam. He's the most experienced woodsman in the Lumber Consortium. Tell him you are looking for the Elderwood tree, Ulizmila's hut, and say... A dwarven forge would probably have the mushrooms nearby." Laurel says and then starts to shoo you all away from her stations and take them up again herself.
(Sorry for not keeping up, had family over all day. And I just wasn't expecting it to take off so fast! Though I suspect things'll slow down a bit over time."
Davrich follows with the conversation, but isn't tall enough to help with stuff on the table without standing on a chair and looking like a fool, and he isn't tall enough to look over i think Armeeros's shoulder to eead the book. But he heard everything that was said, and is more than willing to help all these sick people. "If this witch lady can help, we have no choice but to go to her. I'm fairly good at talking and that sorta stuff, so maybe I should do it? Unless one of you'd rather. Either way, nobody should go alone obviously."
(Don't feel pressured to keep pace, you can post at your own speed and its assumed that PCs are in the background listening when not posting.)
"I wish you luck with the witch." Laurel says before escorting the group outside and locking the door; before someone else gets the idea to go around back.
“Before we part ways, could I purchase your extra herbalist set? Sadly mine were left behind by necessity.” If she is willing Duke Hemsworth digs out five gold coins.
Taxmaster Ethen travels from the ferry docks through the lower market, noticing some the villagers coughing and catching a glimpse of blackened fingers. He takes black kerchief from his shoulder back and ties it to cover his mouth as he heads toward the walled section of town, the high market. He walks on the grounds of Kreed Manor and, if no one intercepts him, to the door and knocks using his staff.

She takes the coins and tosses the kit into your arms.

A red tiefling in a suit answers the door. "What...what business do...do you have here?" He asks; each time he stutters an arc of electricity moves along his horns.
"Sure, you can do the talking, Davrich," Hadriana agrees with a smile, "I'm not very good at convincing people, just healing them and working with plants. So, Milon Rhoddam at the...ugh, Lumber Consortium. I know everyone needs homes, but the land is in pain here too."
”Davrich you certainly may negotiate with the witch just beware she extols, a high price it seems, of the uninitiated. What do you mean Hadriana, that the land is in pain? Should the old growth not be harvested it becomes difficult for new growth to begin is that not the cycle of life? Not to mention the dark wood harvested here is famously beautiful.” Duke Hemsworth seems a tad defensive.
Ethen steps inside the door to the foyer, dropping his hood and pulling back his travel cloak revealing the vestments of the church of Abadar, salutations, I am seeking Mayor Kreed, might he be in?

Nate listens as Hadriana reads the ingredients, “Yes yes quite right, hmm rat’s tail…”

”That’s a challenging root to find, but perhaps Laurel knows her local ecology and could suggest an area to search?”
Its a root that looks like a rat's tail, not an easy thing to find.
"The only person I know that might know about where to find a rat's tail root would be Ulizmila. She's a witch that lives deep in the woods. Be careful though; she's a crafty, mean thing that knows all sorts of strangeness."

"Um, do we know anything else about the witch? Are there a type of folk that she takes to more than others?" Vil cautiously asks from the background.
"I've never heard anything about people she liked; and that was years and years ago. I don't know a soul that got any nicer as they got older." Laurel replies; wiping sweat from her brow.
