With the last of the downed healed and only one Stirge left alive, but asleep, the party has time to rest and contemplate their journey so far. (Seriously someone stab that Stirge.)
The group levels up. (I do max hp for all level ups instead of rolls.)
Hadriana carefully sits up as the spell takes effect, smiling at Davrich. "This is more than enough. Thank you." She casts a glance around at the Stirge bits littered about as she stands. "Ugh, vile things. Likely attracted by the disturbance in nature's balance around here."
Noticing the last living Stirge, she casts starry wisp at it. To hit 11 with advantage -.-, damage 5
Davrich shakes his head at the thought. "No offence to those here, but I truly find it disgusting what man can do to their homeland."
"Responsible management of resources such as precious lumber is good for both the environment and those who wish to use it, this is a travesty, an utter travesty. The worst is this spoiled brat management style will result in the managers getting rich and leaving the community with nothing!" Duke Hemsworth feels the heat rise in his face a bit embarrassed by his tirade, but in his mind he pictures himself sitting in a position of power very carefully cultivating such a valuable commodity.
Davrich looks around the group. The fight had taken a bit of a toll on one or two, but seeing that they are pretty much fine, he speaks up. "Well, I don't know where those things came from, or why they attacked, but we can't let them stop us on our way too the Elderwood." He checks to see if anyone else needs desperate haling before straightening his robe and preparing to continue towards the Eldrwood Tree
As the group travels, time passes and the darkwoods around them get thicker and taller. Eventually they see what lays before them; a darkwood tree that stands some three hundred feet tall, with branches the size of buildings.
The group follows this great marker until they find themselves in a clearing around the base of the tree. The closest branches are mere feet from the ground, and only about a foot thick.
Hadriana steps into the clearing, her breath catching as she takes in the sight of the colossal darkwood tree towering above them. She places a hand on the rough bark of a nearby root, her green eyes wide with wonder.
"It's magnificent," she whispers, her voice reverent. She will help with Davrich's nature check.
Save: 17 Initiative: 14.15 I don't know what's going on with that. If Davrich isn't grappled, (I don't remember if you play where you have to beat the DC) he will use his curl up feature.
The image isn't loading, so here's the feature.
You can use your action to curl up, exposing attackers to a wall of your toughened quills. While curled up you cannot move, attack, or cast spells with somatic components, and your base armor class becomes 19. You cannot benefit from any Dexterity bonus to armor class while curled up, but you can still use shields.
Any creature that misses you with a melee attack while you are curled up takes (2d4) points of piercing damage from your sharp quills. If a creature hits you while you are curled up, you are knocked prone in your space at the end of the turn. You may uncurl yourself at any point during your turn.
Davrich rushes over and lays his paws on Hadriana's wound(s), casting cure wounds for 12 HP.
"I don't have much to offer, but can do a little."

The Stirge dies a starry death.

Tufts simply continues to pick bit of stirge from his fur while waiting for the cue that the group is ready to move on.

(Are these evergreens, or do they have leaves?)
They are darkwood pines.
Davrich will grab a paw-ful of needles and try to see if there is anything/what it is that's different about them.

Nature check is 17 with help from Hadriana.
Davrich and Hadriana see the precious Elderwood Moss that they need. As they approach to gather it something springs from the tree.
