His deep voice, when he speaks, is gravelly and rough. "I've no sponsor here." He replies. "Heard this was a good place to look for work." His eyes scan over the area, like one appraising both chance and opportunity, before returning to Larn.
As your eyes travel the room you see that this chamber is filled with extra walls, each a different color, symbolizing different terrain types; each covered with parchments, some of which have small amulets hanging from them. The entrance, like the outside of the 'Lodge', is made of a type of cemented stone; painted a fading but beautiful blue.
To your left is the largest tavern area you've seen, even by dwarf standings, with two of the walls covered in windows; showing the reddish hue of the morning light. There is food and drink aplenty as the breakfast rush begins. Between the counter infront of you and the tavern is a set of stairs heading up. Your eyes rest again on the tall older man before you. He us dressed well and has an air of 'properness' about him.
He replies; "Of course, their are just a few more questions. Do you have housing or funds for housing? Do you have gear or do you need gear rental? And do you have transportation or do you need transportation rental?"
Kizori digs into his meal, starting with the rice, then the vegetables, and saving the fish for last. He speaks while he eats, "Did you come here by yourself? Are you new to adventuring, too?"
Eladan, distracted by his own thoughts and annoyed by the interruption, turns and heads back out the door. The next day, he returns to the guild to speak with Larn. He notices that Lanr is occupied with another patron so he heads to the tavern area for some food. Upon entering, he spots the tortle from the other day. He walks directly over to the table and addresses him. "I would like to apologize for my behavior the other day. I was in a foul mood due to the long day of travel and had little patience to spare. I hope you can forgive my actions."
"I've gear and room at The Crashing Boar." He says, his gravelly voice direct and soldierly. "Transportation will depend on where the job is, and when I'm needed there." He pauses, conscidering. "What are your laws, wages, responsabilities, and requirenents?"
Kizori smiles at the newcomer, "Of course! I understand, we are all a bit busy here! Would you like to join us?" Kizori motions to the empty chairs at the table.
"I would be honored. Let me go grab something to eat, I'm famished." Eladan walks over to the bar to request a bowl of porridge. After receiving his bowl he walks back to the table and has a seat.
"I am Eladan Arnuanna, t'is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He says as he digs into his porridge. "I arrived in town last night and haven't had much time to look around. Do you know where I might find a place to re-stock on supplies?'
"I'm Kizori, and this is Eliath. There are plenty of shops from what I have seen, but I am too new to town to know their location." He looks at Eliath, "Do you know?"
Larn smiles, glad to see someone interested in the details. "Glad you asked." He says to the dwarf. "What was your name again?" After you reply, he continues. "This town has built a mutual alliance between the shops and the guild. The shops want to keep their businesses, employees, and customers safe; as does the guild.
Due to this, sponsorships were formed, where companies can champion heroes, in return for them bringing good publicity to the shops.
Based on the quest level, how much the quest giver is able to pay, plus any additional wages that the guild feels appropriate and any from sponsorship is calculated for your wages."
"Gramul of Clan Stonehand." Comes the rumbled reply to the request for his name. "Trapsmith and Scout. Sergeant of the Blackstone brigade." He listens as Larn talks, gathering in the information. "What are the quest levels, and is there a membership fee?"
Blackwulff wakes, Sliding out of the bed he does some stretch and flexes. Walking to his gear he begins to examine it for imperfections, damage or chinks.
Takeing a swig of water he brakes out half a ration and begin eating it.He gears up as he eats collects the essentials (everything). And makes his way down to the lodge. The hallways are busy with mornin risers.
Arriving at the already packed lodge,Blackwulff scans the room for Larn. Not seeing him, Noway heads to Larns office, or the line for Larns office. “Im not sure where I’m supposed to report this morning, I have paperwork out.”
Eladan finishes up his meal and rises from the table, "Looks like Larn is getting busy. I better go take my place in line." Eladan walks over to the line for Larn's office and waits.
Replying to Gramul; "There are several levels, going from E to D to C, B, A, and S; for Severe. There are no membership fees; but cost can be deducted from your quest pay, when appropriate. This can put you into negative value; which has to be removed before you receive pay again."
Blackwulff finds several small cuts and scratches along the back of the outfit and armor; as well as some mud stains. Its probably safe to assume there are some scratches on your back as well.
When you get in line to see Larn, you overhear him telling the dwarf before you about the levels of the guild; or something.
Eladan finds himself behind a man whose back has patches of dirt, and smells slightly sweet for some reason.
As Eliath and Kizori consider checking quest; a person walks up with a tray with two pouches. He hands one to each of you and says; "Thank you for your work." before turning and walking away.
Kizori takes a moment to count the coins in the purse, and then ties it to the strap on his pack. He looks at Eliath, "Ready to check the board again?"
She smiles as she looks at her coins. You think of what you are going to do with your ten gold coins, as you watch her retie the pouch. "Actually." She says. "I was wondering if you'd like to join me for service?" She has a shy smile on.
Kizori almost gasps, having forgot about the service, "I will! And, I am going to save them for now." He pats the purse gently. He stands and follows Eliath when she heads for the door, "We'll grab a quest when we get back!"
She smiles; "My thoughts exactly." The two of you head further north, following an almost natural trail through the woods just beyond the Lodge. After some time, you find yourself in an open clearing; surrounding a small pond. The imagery of a waterfall flowing into a still pool can be seen in the many pews around the pond. A podium sits to the east and a man speaks with the rising sun behind him; his white robes glowing in the light.
You find your seats and listen. You hear of the ways of Eldath; the ways of peace, of protection, and of patience with those that use violence. You can't force someone not to be violent.
Kizori nods along, seemingly intent upon the words of the priest. He quietly asks Eliath questions, at points he seems to have a hard time following. But, mostly, he just listens.
