Accepting the detectives invitation, you find yourself in a dimly lit room with a chandelier of orange flames. There is a table in the center, and two of you (Galactic monkey and virst) sit at the table with the detective, when a Valenar elf (GR_Mustang) walks in. The detective goes to greet them, "I thank you for coming, my friend". He turns to the rest of you "Thank you all for coming. I am sure you are aware of how dangerous this mission is." (Please describe your character's and their mannerisms.)
A young man in his early 30s with dark brown hair, fair skin, and soft hazel eyes flecked with green, which seem to carry both a quiet intensity and a hint of sadness. He has a piercing gaze, as if always assessing his surroundings, and a scar that runs along his cheek. His attire consists of a simple robe, with a staff leaning on the table beside him.
Vaelin walks in and seeing his friend he greats him. He is not tall by any means, maybe shorter than most, but he carriers himself with a commanding presence. He wears a mask/vail over his face which he removes when he sees his friend. He has a cloth wrapped about his head. He caries a double bladed scimitar across his back and a dagger on his waist, but no armor. He moves like shifting wind across the sand.
He sits at the table and introduces himself. "I am Vaelin, blood brother of Lorvensiav and I am here to help on this quest. It is pleasure to met you. How do you know Lorvensiav?"
“My name is Finnian as to how I Know Lorvensiav I ran into him after my home was attacked by orcs and I ran away, he helped me in my time of need and offered to help me find them and avenge the monks who took me in and the reason why they attacked in the first place.”
A well dressed tiefling in her early 20s sits across from Finnian, a cloak over her back. Her skin is a vibrant red as is her eyes, with only her white hair contrasting them. She seems to carry herself with poise and confidence. She checks her studded leather idly while waiting for the group to assemble. Once Vaelin enters, she gives a polite nod.
"I am lady Yutari, hailing from the north. As for how I know the detective, I've been following his cases for a while now. I've found his solved cases quite exhilarating. He is a man worthy to lead this hunt. And I find it a worthy cause to join, to hunt for such an infamous quarry would be a boon to any."
Detective Iorvensiav takes a seat, opposite to Vaelin. He folds his hands together, staring at them for around 3 seconds. He is a human in his mid-40's, with black hair, a dark blue coat and white tunic. He has a hard face, and there is a mole next to his nose.
"Infamous is but the tip of the iceberg. The Silver Buckle Gang, Hell's cooks, the Drow's guild, G's Gambling, assassins, theives, arms dealers, even law enforcement all have connections to The Mob! Incase any of you are unfamiliar, which I'm sure isn't the case but I digress, The Mob is a criminal organization, using various illegal methods to make as much money as possible. They will do anything to make sure buisness runs as usual, and as a result, countless lives have been trampled! The reason I called you here is because there is no possible way for any of you to be connected to the mob. We may be the only ones able to bring those scumbags to justice. And it starts by targeting their leader."
He slams 4 papers on the *table. 3 of them appear to be letters, while one is a sketch.
Vaelin nods as the detective spoke. He took one of the papers and read it shuffling the papers between the groups. He looked at the other papers and the sketch.
The sketch seems to be of a man, said mans face seems to have been intentionally shaded, but he has slick hair combed to one side in a curl, and a mole near his jaw. The other papers seem to be letters to a 'boss'.
"His name is Geffano," The detective says. "I learnt it thanks to a goon we had imprisoned, at the time we didn't know he was with the mob, but he cracked almost instantly. He had told us various allies to the mob, and the boss's alias. Later that night he was assassinated in his cell."
Finnian grabs one of the papers and examines it “You said Geffano was assassinated in his cell was there any clues on who did it or a motive to why someone would kill him?”
Yutari takes the last paper, "He means the lackey was killed. Most likely to silence him before he told them anything more. Geffano is the title the boss goes by...But that action already shows he has deep involvement with the law if he's killed the lackey that soon."
“Yes My mistake but who could have killed him if he was in a cell the guards didn’t see anything unless they were also killed or something else happened to them.”
"The guards were all alive. They reported the incident. Either Geffano has them under his thumb and got them to kill him, or he has an assassin so deadly that they are able to kill a man in prison withought anyone noticing... I'm not sure which is worse," The detective ponders, "But he is the head of the snake, metaphorically speaking. We just need to find him and arrest him, and with enough evidence, his criminal empire will crumble. Although, that may be a bit optimistic."
"Not much," The Detective admits. "There were no signs of struggle, the door was still locked, and he died sitting up, with the wound going through his head. It was like he was stabbed with a sword, or a similar weapon. The guards don't report hearing anything, and no murder weapon was near the scene. There were a few drops leading to the fireplace, but that's it".
"Hmm, the drops may be a trail but I don't have much faith in it. Although it is a strange murder, I believe we may have more of a chance with the information that the lackey had given. To go for the leader's allies while gathering evidence from them."
"That could work, although the boss himself rarely gets involved. The organization works in layers. Low ranking members are sent to make alliances, and they report to capos. The capos then report to the boss, although some report to an underboss. It's unlikely that any of the allies know who the boss is..." Detective Iorvensiav stands up with a grunt. "But it's a start. If we can find a member, we can find a capo, and if we can find a capo, we can find the boss, and then apprehend him." The Detective then chuckles, a low, dry sound. "I'm sorry Vaelin, when you were asking for evidence I thought you meant evidence for the murder. For evidence to convict Geffano, we just need to prove that he is the boss, and expose his Mob's crimes. We need people to testify that he is the boss, and written proof about his misdeeds."
"If it was one of the guards who killed him, then protecting him would be no issue... but in the case Geffano has an assassin... we could have them testify anonymously, or use a witness protection service. Perhaps both would be necessary..."
Withought further ado, let us begin.

"So, we need someone to 'talk'. What kinda protection can you offer someone? So that they don't end up like the last guy?""
