Alright well when Narath gets word of a tentacle coming out of the water he’ll run up with the intention of chopping at one. “No mushroom for you, beast!” He swings wildly into the pool. Attack roll for convenience:
Longsword against Tentacle Attack: 17 Damage: 8 Slashing, and it has Disadvantage on its next attack roll.
Elle rushes up to the tentacle and attacks with his Shortsword.
Attack: 22 to hit for 5 radiant damage.
Elle's familiar will fly in and use the help action to give Narath advantage on attacking the Octopus. After that he will fly away. He has 60 feet of movement so Elle's familiar will try to get 30 feet away from Octopus.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Just a reminder that when Narath hits he imposes Disadvantage on the creatures next attack roll.)
Narath instinctively understands what Elle is trying to do and get's in line to Flank the Octopus and swing with his Longsword, (I know Flanking is an optional rule, but I'll roll with Advantage anyway and you the DM can work out what they want to do with it later.)
Longsword against Octopus (W/Advantage) Attack: 21 Damage: 5 Slashing
Jodhr spins on high alert to look in the direction Zooke is facing

Elle's Initiative: 11
Elle's familiar Initiative: 7
Jodhr Initiative 12
Narath Initiative: 6
Zooke initiative 13
Zooke rushes the appendage and thrusts his trident into it, 23 to hit for 14 points of damage
(Fine with me)
(rolled in game log)
Jodhr will rush up and cast shocking grasp on the tentacle.
Attack: 20
Lightning Damage: 7
The target can't make opportunity attacks until the start of Jodhr's next turn

And as long as that hits, the Octopus has Disadvantage on it's next attack roll.
