Geren seeks to gain more resources for the party.
"Any additional help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind this isn't just a scouting expedition, we could very well be heading off an invasion led by a lich. Beyond magic weapons we could also use enhanced armor and any other supplies that would help even the odds. I'm sure our Wizard could use spell scrolls for example."
OOC: Since you said Guidance is fine I'll be adding it to the Persuasion roll.
(OOC: Do you prefer we roll that way vs. rolling on our character sheets and reporting the results here? Those rolls are visible in the campaign game log.)
While Dawn has a weapon back in her room, she uses it more for eating than fighting. "I don't really use weapons, so a ring or a cloak sounds ideal. That way I'm more likely to be available to heal the others."
Dawn will start on supper, though both the quantity and quality of the food available are more than she's ever seen. And as expected, she did not need her own dagger to stab at the food.
But before serving herself, she'll watch the others to see what the proper etiquette is in this situation

Morwen stops, and looks at Delfen. Then back to the group. "I'm afraid as far as magical items and armor is concerned, our supplies in Daggerford are quite limited. You can see what is available in the markets tomorrow, but bewarned that the prices here tend to be higher than in the bigger cities for such goods. Jekk is a master weaponsmith, but has a few items of power as I mentioned. However, I'm sure that our court wizard has something more than just.... 'non-magical jars' to offer, yes?"

(OOC oh sorry - I wasn't aware we could roll right on our sheets and it would show. Uhm, it might be easier to drop them in chat, but if you're doing it that way, and given that I can look it up if I want, that is fine really.)
Jekk: "Ok then - which would you prefer? They do the same thing really. I think. Not so mysteriously named - Cloak of Protection and Ring of Protection..."
In response to Morwen's prompting, Delfen blinks. "More than my scrolls of Non-Magical Jar Mark 2??" he scoffs. "Well, I suppose I can provide some other scrolls. Maybe a potion or two. I'll see what I can muster."
Morwen nods. "Please do." Then she looks back to the group. "I'll see that they're added to your saddlebags."
"Please do keep in mind that you should by no means attempt to confront the lich, Redeye. It would be suicide, even if we came with you it'd be a very hard fight, and if we did, he'd see us coming a mile away. You, however. There's no reason he'd be looking for you. Do what you can, find the jar if you can, make it a 'non-magical jar' if you can, but don't throw your lives away. If all you can manage to do is count their numbers, so-be-it. That will be crucially important info to help us to prepare."
Delfen nods. "Indeed. In fact, the less 'magical' you all are, the less likely he'll be able to sense your approach. But I see no harm in some scrolls and potions. Maybe a wand."
Dawn notes that very few of the people at the table seemed to have eaten anything, other than the group. It's possible that Morwen had planned this to be more of a conference than a meal - that said, the spread of foods available is free for the taking. Seeing your reluctance, Morwen speaks.'
"Don't be shy - eat up! Take some with you, if you like, back to your rooms."
Morwen then adds. "Ah! All this craziness, and I almost forgot. The message! If I overheard correctly, you are going to Crom's Hold first, yes? I don't see why you wouldn't its directly on the way. You'd have to go aways out of your way to avoid it, really," she muses, starting to ramble. "So please do me the favor of delivering a message to the Baroness - I'll see to it that it's clearly marked within your saddlebags. Don't ask for payment for this, please - you're not only going there anyway, but it also makes for a good place to stop after a day's ride and she'll put you up. Admittedly, her rooms won't be as nice as mine, if I don't say so myself," she murmurs. "And I do. But she may have more in the way of support - specifically, manpower, is what my hope is. There are some hardened lizardmen fighters amongst her ranks. Surely, she'll see importance of the mission and lend you one or two. Your overall size can't be too large, however. We should presume Feydon to be dead weight, other than as a guide. There's nothing in the geas wording compelling him to protect the group, I noted. Am I correct, Delfen?"
Delfen nods. "No, I suppose we didn't think of that, did we," he turns to Darfin.
Darfin smiles. "But we did, dear friend. If by doing nothing the group comes to harm, that would be passively allowing them to come to harm. He will fight like a banshee to protect them, I'll wager." Then just as suddenly his smile fades. "Though... now that I think of it... we did forget something..."
Delfen scoffs. "Impossible! Er, I meant, very possible! Yes, definitely the latter," he muses. Then he looks up at Darfin, confused. "What did we forget though?"
Darfin frowns. "We elves, we don't tend to think this way.. life is precious to us. But you humans..."
Morwen clears her throat, growing inpatient. "What did you forget? Out with it."
Darfin looks up at her, somberly. "He might not fight to protect himself. We forgot to put a clause in it such that he cannot kill or harm himself."
Morwen sighs. Then she nods. Turning to the remaining guards at the far end of the room she calls out. "Have him watched closely - all night. Keep him away from anything he can hurt himself with." She calls out. Then back to Delfen. "You don't think that he would do that, would he? 'Feydon the Cold'? Killing himself?"
Delfen shrugs. "He looks pretty despondent to me. Anything's possible. But no, I don't think he would. The point is, however, that he can."
Darfin nods. Then he brightens. "He may not know that - don't tell him. Lie. Say that if he tries, he'll feel the pain again. It should be a deterrent."
Delfen frowns. "He heard the instructions, he had to have, or else they wouldn't have worked."
Darfin shrugs. "He's no wizard. You saw how broken he was. If he felt there was even a chance it might come back, that pain, I'm sure he'll avoid it."
Deflen muses. "Wizard? No. Sorcerer? I think maybe. I felt the weave working within him. The same way I feel it working in anyone that has the ability to intuit magic," he says, as he does so he glances at Bree.
Darfin follows his gaze and nods."Perhaps. I did feel something. But it's clearly not his primary talent. And to be able to intuit magic is, by definition, to be able to use it without understanding it. Thus - he probably does not understand a geas. Especially since ours is no ordinary geas."
Jekk coughs. "This wizardling nonsense is boring," he mumbles, and shuts his eyes to go back to sleep. "Let me know what you decide about those weapons or rings or cloaks or whatever," he mumbles just before he starts to snore again.
Geren tucks into his meal with gusto, knowing it's likely to be the last good food he has for a while.
"Morwen's right, out in the marshlands trail rations and whatever we can gather or hunt will be all we'll be eating so don't hold back."
Later on Geren chooses to have his rapier enchanted.
Jekk, coming alive again in time to once again prevent himself from falling backwards, eyes Geren as he hands his rapier. "Oh! Fine blade, son, fine blade. But I'll make even finer, not to worry! You'll have it back by morning."
Eating to your fill is easy - the food is delicious. And it is true that its likely to be awhile before you see such a fine spread as this. Though, there's always breakfast, recalling what Morwen said about food being here in the morning.
(Hnefa will hand over to Jekk her already +1 Maul. Same sort of response as he gave Geren - she's just going to be an NPC unless they come back; she'll do whatever the majority of the group decides)
Eltra pauses from shoveling food in his face as he sees everyone giving Jekk something to enhance. He begins to take off his cloak... "A cloak'll do to add a little layer of protection....These old bones need all the protecting they can find"

Jekk is snoring again and doesn't seem to have heard you... you find yourself feeling sudden impatience with all these 'tall' folk, always ignoring you.
Morwen balks. "Reyna said what about what reward money?"
Jekk blinks. "Forgive me, your grace. For the - pirate you all had on the rack a moment ago. Didn't you raise the bounty on him to something ridiculous? 6000 gold? Reyna told me that she'd tell you, that you'd, ah, owe it to me instead. If I helped out the group. You didn't hear that?"
Morwen frowns. "Of course. That's most unlike her. But - then - this whole damned business is strange. OK. Consider the reward yours, master dwarf - I'll even make it 8000, if you include the option for one of your special items instead, as an alternative. For those in the group that don't use weapons."
Jekk sighs. "Fine, yes of course. It's not like I have a huge selection there. But if you don't want an enchanced weapon, I can provide a ring or a cloak that acts like magical armor against both weapons and spells. Or some bracers that act like even better armor, but only against weapons. Or, finally, some bracers that will make you better at shooting bows. Oh, or one that makes you better at throwing things. That's all I've got. So - one of those items, or give me a weapon to enchance."
Gus - master Jekk thank you so much, I'm not much of a weapons user but would be extremely interested in be harder for someone to hit. You mentioned something about rings and cloaks that act like armor?
In response to Morwen's prompting, Delfen blinks. "More than my scrolls of Non-Magical Jar Mark 2??" he scoffs. "Well, I suppose I can provide some other scrolls. Maybe a potion or two. I'll see what I can muster."
Morwen nods. "Please do." Then she looks back to the group. "I'll see that they're added to your saddlebags."
Gus - thank you, thank you both. As an apprentice my skills are rather limited as isthe my training, anything would be most appreciated.

(OOC: we'll presume this interaction to have happened before Eltras)
"Hmm? What? Oh yes. If harder to hit is what you want, than you'll want the bracers of defense I have. But if you want a little protection from being hit, and a little from hostile magics - say the kind a lizard shaman might use - then you'll want either a ring or a cloak of protection." He explains. "I don't make these, son, I'm a weaponsmith, but we get a few special items like these from Waterdeep now and then. You're getting them at quite the bargain - well, I suppose YOU are getting them for free. I should say Morwen is getting the bargain, I guess. By way of Reyna. By way of Feydon," he guffaws. "So be sure to thank that son-of-a-*****!" His laughing continues. Morwen's eyes can be seen visibly rolling.
