Gimmond tried to fight through the pain, but a pained growl still slipped out as he tried to brush off the acid. "Focus... Focus..."He sucks in a quick, deep breath, centering himself once more before absolutely laying out in the new smaller slime each in turn, with all the elegance of a berserker lost in the thrill of battle for a few seconds there.
Ba: Second wind to regain 12 Hp. Ac: Attack nearest small ooze with a most vicious spear! Attack #1: One-Handed Vicious Spear vs Ooze(AC ??) - To Hit: 20 For: 15Piercing Damage. Attack #2: One-Handed Vicious Spear vs Ooze(AC ??) - To Hit: 16For: 18Piercing Damage.
(OOC: Used Savage Attacker for that 2nd attack, so the original 3+1 was exchanged for 5+3)

The guiding bolt does enough damage that it skips over the splitting as it doesn't have enough health left to split. And the first spear from Gimmond kills it.
This time for your victory you are given 400gp, and a voucher for any one non-magical item of your choice up to 500gp (could be equipment, spell components or anything you want for fun)
Athos gives a more muted victory cheer than normal as he's still not over his shaky first turn. After some consideration, he'll take out a life insurance policy and get a 500gp diamond with his voucher. (Unless he can buy an elephant mount ;) )
I will allow an elephant mount. It will be a controlled mount (so only dash, disengage or dodge) and I will also take the height into account. You can't hit small creatures, and medium ones are disadvantage (for melee only)
Gimmond was never the most excitable of the party; but, seeing Athos looking more subdued than usual, the dwarf stepped up with more boisterous waves to the crowd on the group's way out of the arena. Once outside he gave Athos a hearty pat on the back and said, "Cheer up, lad. Least we know better when it comes to such disgusting creatures. And in meantime, maybe spend some of that hard earned coin towards getting yourself a warhammer, eh?"
OOC: I hadn't considered mounted combatant before, but now that's got me thinking.... +_+
But not yet! Not until level 6 at least. Then its the obligatory try to convince the dm to let a dwarf have a war rhino mount purely for the flavor.

Twinkle stows her money as usual and doesn't particularly know what to do with the voucher. Eventually she uses it to purchase carpenter's tools. It was some time since she'd had time to practice what she had learned long ago.
If time permits, she will craft a pole and in the meantime listen for rumors [Perception 21].
Zumfir takes the money gladly, but he doesn't know what to use with the voucher . . . so he will save it for later use, when he can decide what to get. (if i can >.< maybe wait for a more pricey spell component)
With the exception of Gimmond, who only hears about it being a huge monstrosity, you all hear that you are up against a primeval owlbear.
(you can use your voucher if you haven't already after learning that knowledge. Or change your choice now if you have used it. But once combat starts, any choice you made is final)
(Gimmond will continue to hold on to his voucher for now)

The battle commences. As you enter and prepare, the grate in the centre opens and before the owlbear fully raises up, it leaps out charging at the closest person (probably Athos or Gimmond. By random dice roll, it is Athos) It then lets out a loud screech. Everyone (based on standard starting arrangements) needs to make a DC15 con save taking 26 thunder damage on a failure and being incapacitated until the end of your turn. Half damage on a success
Athos swings his battleaxe, but with the owlbear in his face he is unable to hit with a 9 (natural 1) and 10 to hit. (Used Athos' human heroic inspiration to reroll and rolled another natural 1)
Although Gimmond weathered the deadly screeching of the owlbear almost as well as Athos, it left him yet shaken to his core. He cursed, or at least thought he cursed at the beast. But half deafened as he was after the assault, the dwarf couldn't be certain. The only thing he could be sure of is that he still held his spear! And so after repositioning around the beast to keep it hemmed in between himself and Athos, he drove his spear in once in its flank. He nearly loses his spear in the second stroke, as the more matted fur of the beast caught the tip. Luckily, he's able to rip it free, though the experience left him grumbling more words of complaint.
Con Save[DC 15]: 21.

Seeing that this would probably be a hard fight, Zumfir will cast Beacon of Hope on everyone, focusing on staying in support while they dealt with the owlbear. His ears were almost bleeding from the initial screech, but he would not back down now, for Eilistraee's light guided him.
Will wait for Twinkle a little longer before botting and taking it's turn, but for the three of you so far:
The screech is painful. But not quite enough to incapacitate you. You all jump into action, Athos missing, and Zumfir protecting. Gimmond hits once, definitely attracting the owlbears attention (subject to Twinkle)

As fun as that would be, I think I'm going to wait on the elephant mount. I found a few more paladin spells that can use the diamond.
