Cleggor-spider tries to see if he can manipulate the hook and rope in his current form, once he is satisfied, he allows them to be attached to him and he starts to climb the chimney, moving as quietly as he can, remaining in the dark, periodically stopping to listen and to feel for movement. Once he reaches the top, he plans to secure the rope for the others to use below to climb, staying hidden from sight.
Thyxius manages to catch up with the rest of the group just in time, climbing up with little trouble thanks to Cleggor’s spider form providing extra footing and Rhys’s grappling hook securing the way forward. With everyone gathered, they're ready to move up to the next level of the spire.
The group climbs up to the next level, 160 feet above the jungle floor, and enters a pitch-dark cave. The air is still and heavy—eerily silent, with no signs of movement or life.
The immediate area extends 20 feet southward before ending at a carved stone wall. Near the wall, there’s a narrow opening facing east that leads into a short tunnel stretching another 15 feet. This passage splits into two directions:
South, which leads to the exterior of the spire, where ladders cling to the rock face, barely swaying in the breeze.
North, which curves into a small, 10-by-10-foot stone chamber carved directly into the spire.
If you’d like to investigate deeper into the chamber or explore the external path, now’s the time to decide.
As Rhys raises his torch and the flickering light spills into the small stone chamber, shadows peel back to reveal a desiccated corpse slumped against the northern wall. The body is partially mummified by the dry air, its skin tight against brittle bones.
Despite the decay, the glint of gold and gemstones catches Rhys’s eye—shining through tattered clothing and a rotting purse still clutched close to the corpse’s side.

Curious as to what is contained within the small chamber, Rhys will attempt to scout the room undetected.
