Leif keeps his eyes down cast as the party regathers to discuss their plan of action. The energy used to dash from the ship extinguished. He can't bare to make eye contact with anyone knowing he caused so much trouble in such a short amount of time. After all, It was me who failed to unlock the caged wagon. It was me who insisted we go to the ship. It was me who started the fight with the ships crew. It was me who unlocked the door to...what...some unknown evil which is now running loose in the city. It was me who made a fool of myself, falling into the water just now. I won't be surprised if these people ask me to get lost. At least I'm good at that...
Leif's internal monolog continues and only serves to make him feel worse than he already does. His bright red face, partly from the impact with the water, partly from his embarrassment, begins to turn pale blue as the cold sets in. He thinks it would be a good idea to vacate this area post haste and find a safe place to rest, but isn't in any frame of mind to offer up any suggestions. He wonders where the crew of the ship went and imagines they likely went to tell the city guards that their ship was attacked. They may even be waiting for them at the city gate. He wonders how soon this Lady... what's her name will take to show up... if ever. Dripping wet, Leif moves closer to the cover of the buildings nearby as the group decides next steps. (Stealth: 11)
Joy gathers with the others, recounting what little they did learn after Cleo and Lusia left the ship. It isn’t much—not enough to feel like real progress—but at least now, they have direction. She glances around at the group, taking in their weary faces, the exhaustion in their stances. Even her own limbs feel heavier than usual, the events of the night pressing down on her. But fatigue wasn’t failure.
“I think we should find an inn,” she says, her voice warm but firm. “I’m feeling...drained, and something tells me tomorrow’s going to need all our strength.” She exhales, rubbing a hand over her face before straightening. "The temple of Pelor…someone there has to know something. And we can keep looking for leads on your brother, Cleo."
"Yea, we should get out of here and get to the inn,"Lusiaagrees. She casts a look back at the ship - with all the crew now seemingly gone. And the two women just disappeared! "I wish I knew what was going on here," she comments, to nobody in particular.
Her mind is so full of questions that, for a moment, she forgets to check on Cleo or even to wonder why Leif is soaking wet again. But she remembers she still has Joy’s cloak and absentmindedly drapes it over the halfling’s shoulders.
Aisling, in the process of draping Joy's cloak over Leif, suddenly realizes the halfling is no longer there. Where has he gone? Is he all right? (Perception: nat1) Frowning, she looks around but finds no sign of him. Her voice rises with concern. "Leif? We're heading to find an inn. Come with us, please, you must be freezing."
She stands there for a moment, holding the cloak in her hands, listening as the others speak. When Lusia sighs that she wishes she knew what was going on, Aisling nods in agreement.
"I feel the same. I... saw something when I addressed the man sitting in the room—the one who stared at us so intently. For a moment, I saw the vision of another man, very imposing, with black hair and a beard. He wore a distinctive red stone around his neck. He warned that we were in the grasp of forces too strong to comprehend, and then disappeared. I suppose it is connected to that vision of the wedding." She hesitates, then adds, "I want to ask about this at the Temple of Pelor, too. As Joy said, someone must know something about all this."
Her gaze drifts into the distance. Could someone at the temple know anything about her curse as well? More importantly, could she find a way to ask without her companions noticing?

As he realizes the women have disappeared, the young knight grows even more concerned. He stays silent and listens to the others, nodding as they speak. "Zere is certainly a lot to sort out. Perhaps ve can continue over a hot meal at ze inn." He says, being in agreement with the others about finding an inn now. He knew he would be haunted by the women they had lost but he had to believe he could somehow correct this night's mistakes.
The young knight moves around to look for the halfling, somehow ending up standing right next to him, still without noticing him. "Could he have gone to ze inn?" He asks the others with a confused look, not wanting to leave anyone behind.
Leif's mood lightens as he watches the group look around for him. Cyriel standing next to him without noticing him is enough to cause Leif's mouth to form the tiniest hint of a smile. 'How do they not see me?' he wonders as he leans against the nearby building wall. He's not trying to hide from the group as much as to hide from any unexpected arrivals to their current location. Leif is grateful to his new companions for their compassion amidst his failures.

Leif looks up at the young knight next to him. "Some hot food does sound amazing!"At the mention of food, Leifpulls out one of the berries Cleo gave him earlier. He pops it into his mouth, grateful that the taste of river water immediately dissipates as he bites down and begins chewing. Surprise forms on Leif's brow as his shoulder feels better after swallowing the nourishment.

Leif agrees with Aisling, "I'd love to find a warm Inn to dry out."Embarrassment creeps back into his features as the young halfling replays in his mind why he needs to dry out...again. Leif doesn't take the lead but willingly follows the group as they move. He keeps his walk casual but keeps to the shadows as much as possible to avoid being seen. The young halfling tries scanning each alley they cross to avoid any potential ambushes by the Tar, but water from his hair keeps dripping into his eyes causing him to constantly rub at them. Cleo lets out a gasp as the two women seemingly disappear in mere seconds. She shakes her head when Lusia asks if she saw where they went. Shortly after that, the rest of the party catches up to them. Leif is soaking wet from his fall into the water. Cleo looks at him with concern, but when she glances back toward him, he's gone! She takes a moment to see if she can find him.

She is able to spot him relatively quickly, but amusingly some of the tall folk don't spot him. Cleo wonders if this is a tall folk thing. Perhaps gnomes and halflings are just naturally better at hiding from their gaze.
"I'm sorry, everyone," Cleo says as they walk off together back toward the inns they first saw. "I thought my brother would be on that ship. I have no idea where to even look for him now. Maybe I can come to the Temple as well. If nothing else, I can pray to Pelor to keep him safe."
At the mention of the temple, Joy brightens just a little. She slows her pace just a bit, falling into step beside Cleo. “You’re welcome to come. Even if they don’t have answers right away, sometimes just being in a place of light helps.” She places a comforting hand on Cleo’s shoulder for a brief moment. “And Pelor listens. He’ll keep your brother safe until we find him.”
The young perrenish knight looks down with surprise at his side as Leif suddenly appears from thin air, the knight almost reaching for his blade before realizing that it's just the resoaked halfling. "Yes, hot food..." He says in agreement and starts walking with the others, again making their way towards the inn they almost reached earlier. "Do not be sorry Cleo, you could not know, and ve vill find your brother, but please, tell us again about your vision, I have a feeling ze details might be important. You mentioned a moth and I believe ze significance of a moth is change. It could possibly refer to the change zat ze couple went zrough together. Let us see if ve can make sense of all zese visions and premonitions you have had zis evening." He says with a reassuring smile, seeming to regain his reslove and conviction that he will be able to make amends for this evening.
"Alright then, let's get moving before the evening gets any later," Lusia tells the others. If nobody else does, she starts to lead the way back to where they saw the inn earlier. "Oh, and do keep your eyes open for trouble. Had a couple of ruffians try to stop me earlier."
