Tarysaa, Koran, Woodrow and Elias are up for Round 2! Any order.
Elias flinches as he hears the wet, snapping sound of webbing striking Woodrow, his stomach twisting as he turns just in time to see his ally practically glued in place.
"Damn it!" he hisses under his breath, frustration flashing in his eyes. He should have seen it coming—should have been ready. But his focus had been on Ardana, and now Wood was caught.
His jaw tightens, but there’s no time for regret. His fingers curl, arcane power surging through his veins as he swiftly weaves a new spell.
He thrusts out his hand, pinpointing a spot just behind the giant spider, his voice ringing out with practiced precision.
"Enough of this!"
In an instant, the air shudders, and a deafening, high-pitched ringing sound erupts, crashing through the chamber with a force so intense it feels as though reality itself is splintering at the point of impact.
The spell—Shatter—detonates with brutal force, the sudden eruption of sound rippling outward, threatening to tear through the spider’s body and shake the very walls of the dungeon.
Elias grits his teeth, his heart pounding. This time, he would make a difference.

Elias watches as Koran and Ardana strike true, their combined assault delivering a final, decisive blow. The blade pierces the spider’s eye, driving deep into its brain, and the massive creature collapses, its chitinous body crashing into the flooded stone floor with a resounding splash.
For a brief moment, there is only silence—the distant drip of water, the faint crackling of smoldering webs, and the party’s collective breaths as they take in their victory.
Elias lets out a slow breath, rolling his shoulders as the tension of battle fades. He manages a smirk, nodding toward Ardana and Koran. "A rather fitting end. Swift, clean. Just as it deserved."
But as his gaze sweeps the chamber, his stomach twists when he looks at Woodrow—now free from the webbing, but only because he had to struggle out of it himself. Elias’ smirk fades, and a flicker of frustration creeps in.
He had been too slow—too focused on Ardana’s wound to react in time to help Wood.
Stepping forward, he places a hand on Woodrow’s shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze. "I should have been quicker." His voice is low, measured, but carries a weight of genuine regret. "Next time, I’ll have your back before you even need to free yourself."
His eyes flick toward the shadows beyond the chamber, his sharp mind already moving ahead. "For now, let’s not linger. That thing wasn’t the only spider in these ruins."
Tarysaa shakes her head. "Unless I take a long rest to change my spells.... throwing these embers and motes of fire could take hours to clear that room. AND there may be many more spiders or those spider/human creatures that come out of there. "
"On the other hand, that boat looks to only hold one person at a time... can we guarantee we all end up in the same spot?"
Elias listens intently, his brow furrowed in thought as he considers the options laid before them.
Koran was right—their choices had narrowed significantly. The web-choked chamber could take hours to burn through, and there was no guarantee they wouldn’t be swarmed by more of those creatures in the process. Meanwhile, the boat, while promising a direct path forward, carried its own unknown dangers—chief among them, the question of whether they would all arrive in the same place.
He exhales softly, then turns toward the Fiendish Ferryman, who still lingers in the shadows of the water, watching them with eerie patience.
"I don’t like dealing with fiends unless I know the terms," Elias murmurs, "but I like wandering into a nest of spiders even less."
He shifts his gaze to the party, his tone measured but firm.
"Before we decide, let’s ask the Ferryman directly. He is bound by contracts and rules—that much we know. If he has been summoned here for a purpose, he will have to abide by whatever conditions were set for his service."
He turns toward the Merrenoloth, his voice carrying the weight of a scholar who knows how to question without revealing too much.
"Oarsman, tell us plainly—if we take your boat, will we all arrive at the same destination, or do you ferry one soul at a time to separate fates?"
He watches carefully, knowing fiends have a way of twisting words—but also knowing that this one must answer truthfully… if he values his own contract.
