Ironheartkneels down next to the injured man and is about to question him when the deathknight intervenes. He watches as holy light, similar to the light he'd seen radiate from Lyrafills the guards body. Knitting his wounds back together... 'Maybe there is hope for this lost soul after all.' The warrior thinks to himself, gaining some respect for the dwarf.
"Felagi, scout the area for others. Where did the horses go? Do you see any tracks?"
Meirahad also ran after the others to the sight of the dead men and horses. Still invisible, she keeps to the edge of the area and scans for any signs of anything moving away from the place or indications of the presence of others. She'd work her way in an outward spiral around the area as she looks. (Perception: 17)
You move to the injured man and see he's got three arrows stuck in him. One in his left shoulder, one in the left side of his his chest, and one in his left leg. A single bolt to his left thigh seems to be bleeding worse than the other wounds. You begin helping him by applying pressure to the leg wound and remove the bolt. Unfotunately, this does little to staunch the blood flow as the puddle below the man grows.
Gareth,
You've seen this type of arrow many times in and around Neverwinter. If fact, you've used the arrows in your own hunts. A fletcher in Neverwinter makes a living making and selling these. The fletcher's name is Bodger Durrant and you know he sells them to anyone with enough coin, including to the Neverwinter guard.
Lord Kithran,
You spend a moment closing the eyes of the fallen Neverwinter guards while Maddie attempts to save the injured man. As you see the blood continue to flow, you walk over and say a quiet prayer over the man. Divine light radiates from your touch and enters the man, closing the worst of his wounds as you remove the arrows and bolt from him. He still looks pretty rough, but he'll live. The guard looks up at you with a horrified expression before the healing which quickly turns to relief as he understands you're helping him. He says, "Thank you, sir. I thought I was a goner for sure. We were ambushed by the very bandits we'd been searching for. We didn't stand a chance... never saw it coming..."
Zephyros,
Felagi reports seeing hoof tracks leading south towards Phandalin.
Meira,
Scouting the area, you're confident no threats loom nearby. It appears whoever attacked these men have moved on. Searching the area, you see discarded ale bottles, half eaten rations, and other refuse litter the forested area. On a tree branch you find a piece of green cloth that looks to have been caught on the wood and ripped off.
Maddie,
Searching the area, you and Willow see several clues to who attacked these men. Discarded ale bottles, half eaten rations, and other refuse litter the forested area. On a tree branch you find a piece of green cloth that looks to have been caught on the wood and ripped off. Willow misses it, but you find hoof tracks leading south towards Phandalin.
Everyone,
Light quickly fades as dusk sets in and the cold breeze from the southeast gets colder, bringing with it overcast clouds. What do you do?
Meira grabs the piece of green cloth she finds then returns to the others, ending her invisibility. "I don't see where they've gone, but don't think we'll be able to find them tonight."
Looking around, she suggests, "We should camp for the night. Somewhere we can keep a good watch probably."
Maddie too becomes visible again, but there is worry in her face now. "The ones that did this have ridden off, towards Phandalin, I'm worried there will be more bloodshed if we don't act with haste." She says, although she has no clear sense of whether it would be meaningful to pursue through the night.
