The combat is beginning to take a toll on the small cleric' magic. She watches Big Al take a nasty hit, all the while uncertain how Gareth and Eldrin are faring, and her magic is quickly waining. Torn between healing and attacking to prevent further harm, she chooses the latter.
"Hang on there!" she calls to Big Al, guilt pricking at her for not healing him right away.
She raises her hand and directs a beam of light toward one of the orcs, but her heart sinks as the spell misses, again. "Damn it! Not again!" she mutters in frustration.
Her goddess, however, is luckier this time. The shimmering spectral hand strikes once more, and—perhaps in sympathy with her acolyte’s frustration—this time it doesn't attempt its usual slap. Instead, it curls into a fist and delivers a solid punch.
Action:Guiding Bolt to hit: 8. (There goes my last but one spell slot)
(ooc: not sure if a 13 would hit, but Big Al is Blessed as well, along with Zephyros and Meira. Just in case he hasn't rolled the d4 yet and he can get a lucky 4!)
Good call. Thanks for the reminder. 2 still a miss.
Neither orc appears wounded. You aim for the orc on the left and loose another expertly aimed arrow from the confines of the cellar. Your arrow embeds into the orc's eyeball. It blinks twice before falling backward, dead.
Gareth gives a sigh of relief as the orc's attack misses him. He yanks his blade out of the orc, placing a booted foot on it to help. The Blade tears a huge wound into the orc and its inards fall out with the sword. Attack Nat 20 damage 13. It falls dead at Gareth's feet.
Lyra,
Tymora's fist slams into the back of the second orc attacking Big Al. The orc looks dazed by the hit and is bleeding from the ears.
Eldrin senses his impending doom and recognizes he can't run from this foe by conventional means. So, he quickly takes out the second portion of his invisibility potion and quaffs it down. His form shimmers before going translucent. He disengages and runs from the orc, moving 30 feet closer to Gareth.
Ironheart catches Big Al take the hits out of his peripheral vision and refocuses his attention. "Time to die orc scum!" The armored warrior then positions himself between the remaining orcs and Big Al, intent on being the shield for his friends.
Attack 18
Damage 6
Zephyros then asks Felagi to keep an eye on the farmhouse and warn him of any more orcs spotted inside as the red-tailed hawk circles it.
You wheel around to the foe in front of Big Al and strike with your trident. It connects just after Tymora's fist pummels the orc. Your attack finishes off this orc and it falls over the body of its comrade. Felagi warns you that two additional orcs are indeed about to join the fight. One has just exited the back door while the other is right behind it.
Two more orcs burst out of the back door to the farmhouse and rush to join the fray. Four orcs in total begin attacking Zephyros. The warrior is able to dodge and parry two of the attacks, but two make it past his defense. Attack 8 and 16, both miss. Attack 20 damage 10 and 22 damage 10 hit.
The orc near Eldrin growls in frustration as the elven wizard disappears from view. It sniffs the air for a moment and scans the ground before smiling. He runs directly towards Eldrin, clearly on his trail and swinging his axe before him. Eldrin's stealth w/adv 2/6+3=9. Orc's Perc/Survival 17. Attack w/disadv 11/13+5=16 damage 5. Not anticipating an attack, Eldrin is caught off guard and he yelps in pain as the axe stripes his back.
Big Al responds to Meira, "Aye, not a bad idea... Miss." He moves back next to Meira inside the cellar. "I've shot my fair share of bow." He offers up the dagger and takes Meira's bow if offered.
That brings us back to Meira! Then the top of round six.
