While Threnody had been away retrieving Tarina, Liatris took out what appeared to be a small, makeshift journal, along with an ink well and pen, and had quietly been scribbling away, no doubt preemptively notating questions in anticipation of the not-an-interrogation. Though notable, anyone that tries to look at her notes may find themselves at a loss for even trying to begin to understand the excessive use of wheel-like symbols in place of any common lettering.
Regardless, while it still seemed as if the wood elf had yet more to write down, she paused long enough to acknowledge the latest offering of coin, but would look to Tarina for any signs of confirmation before accept it. "Verily well. The coin will be put to good use." Is all she had to add before returning to notes.

Kaster looks from Threnody to Tarina and back a couple times trying to reconcile the perception he had of Tarina with the generosity Threnody says she had but eventually gives up, shrugs and takes the money. "These coins'll do the Gods own work," he says with sincerity and adds them to a pouch he has tied securely to his belt.
Kaster then looks for the bartender and waves to get their attention. "I think we'll be needing another round," he says once he manages to be noticed. "And a bowl of fresh water, if ya please?" The halfling then rushes out the door - He had left Ralph outside and alone way too long already. Ralph can take care of himself, for sure for sure, but with all the ne'er do wells and pirates and such about it was making Kaster nervous to be away from his trusted companion for so long. Besides, the bar is all but empty now, surely the proprietor nor anyone else could complain? So Kaster rushes out, undoes the look rope that theoretically was tying the dog to a post, Kaster gives the good boy a bunch of scratches and pets before leading him inside.
"I've some nice clean water waiting for you," he assures Ralph. "If you behave we may even scare you up something to eat..." Ralph seems totally on board with that idea.
Bees takes the gold gladly as Threnody passes it out to the group. He watches as Kaster avoids questioning Tarina and smiles to himself. He strokes his beard for a moment and thinks about taking his halfling friend up on that next round of drinks before thinking better of it. He feels the effects of the spirits already in him and he waves off the additional alcohol. "Water for me, please." He drinks deeply of the water once provided and waits for Tarina's answer Threnody's question.
Tarina nods, taking another deep swig from her mug. "I know approximately where the secret door is, but I've stayed clear of the place like Keene instructed," she says. "I can draw you a rough map of where you need to go."
The pirate takes the crumpled piece of parchment that "K" used for the note and begins scribbling a very rough map of the bathhouse on the back. Once done, she pushes the map toward Threnody. "No idea what's beyond the secret door. You're on your own for that."
Alan Alyth brings everyone another round. He also disappears for a moment and then returns with a wooden bowl full of water for Ralph to drink. Alyth smiles at the sight of the dog. "I'm a dog person myself," he admits. "Would he like a treat?"
Alyth disappears again and returns with what looks like a t-bone steak, still rare. "Who's a good boy?" Alyth says, holding the meat toward Ralph.
The gruff halfling's eyes go wide as he sees the "treat" Ralph gets. 'The dog eats better than I do.' Bees thinks to himself. Finishing his water, Bees asks the group, "Should we head out now? I'm ready."
Ralph's eyes immediately go to the voice saying "treat" and a small whine escapes the hound. But Ralph is still saddled and thus in work mode and is very well trained so while tempted he mostly restrains himself.
"Be Free," Kaster says in Halfling.
Ralph, upon hearing his release, immediately lets out a single "Woof!" and rushes over to the man who had said the magic word and dancing circles around him with his tongue hanging out and his tail wagging in a blur. When the man extricates himself and disappears for a bit Ralph plops his rear end down on the floor and looks longingly after the man until he returns. Seeing the meat on offer Ralph's tail goes into overdrive and beats out a quick and steady rhythm upon the floor.
"Oh!" Kaster says with a blink. "That... that's too much. You'll spoil him." In truth Kaster is having thoughts much the same as Bees is. Even on a splurge a steak that size would at least be split between himself and Ralph. But Kaster puts up no further complaint and cannot help but smile as Ralph slowly but surely edges himself closer and closer to the proffered steak without ever taking his butt off the floor. The need for the food is great but he also knows he needs to prove what a good boy he is!
When Bees suggests heading out immediately Kaster starts to chime in but then stops. He had already noted that he was out of healing magics and that they may not want to go looking for trouble and he didn't want to be a nag about it. Instead he just kept quiet and watch Ralph and his antics...
"More than I figured, but less than hoped."Liatris commented on coolly while trying to lean over and examine the map, committing as much as possible to memory. And if Therondy isn't particularly quick to pocket it as well, Liatris would even try to make a copy of the map in her own makeshift journal while at it.
Regardless of the "wood elf's" successes or failures, her attention soon shifts to Bees. "Some further reconnoitering of the premises would be appropriate. As it sounds as Tarina here knows not of any contacts that frequent the bath house." She said in turn, though not without blatantly side-eyeing Tarina afterwards. Liatris waits a moment to see if more might be volunteered in response. But without such, her focus is again on the party. "However, it has already been voiced that some of us, or namely our main... field medic is significantly drained of resources." She says, seemingly speaking up for Kester.
"So, as to avoid the likely scenario of things going 'tits up' with us at our least prepared, I propose we call it a night. I will... refrain from returning to my own domicile tonight and suggest we all take up residence here tonight. That way come morning, we can move out immediately. Sounds fair?"
Tarina shrugs. "Do I look like I frequent bath houses?" she says. "I'm a pirate...or was anyway. The sea's all we need for a good scrubbing. Salt water does wonders for your hair." She tosses her hair around. It's cleaner than the other pirates' hair that just attacked, but that's not saying all that much.
Threnody chuckles at Tarina's offence at being mistaken for someone who might care about hygiene. "Oh, absolutely." She agrees earnestly. "Who needs something as revolting as soap when you can just spritz yourself in the season's latest 'eau de bilgewater'?"
Still grinning, she shakes her head, turning to find Liatris poring over the map. "You can keep it, if you like. Just make sure everyone gets a peek at it? I'd be fine to go to the bath-house now, but if you'd rather get started at first light on the morrow, we can do that too. No point rushing off half-cocked."
The tiefling looks over to Alan Alyth, fingers restlessly tapping on the counter top. "How much for a room, tavern-keeper?" She inquires. Assuming the cost isn't exorbitant, Threnody heads upstairs for some rest after providing the necessary payment for her lodgings.
"It's 8 silver a night," Alan replies. "Luckily we still have a few rooms available."
Alan accepts everyone's coins and shows you back upstairs and down a hall. He steps gingerly over some bloodstains as he leads the way. "Here you are," he says. "Let me know if I can be of any more service. The...incident scared away some folks, but I've no doubt our regulars will be back in full force by dinnertime."
It's still early afternoon. The Elfsong will provide dinner service around six pm for 3 silver (beverages not included). Ale costs 4 copper per mug, wine 1 silver per glass, and tea/coffee 2 copper per cup.
Subtracting 8 hours overnight for sleep, we'll say you have 8 hours of downtime. In the inn, the following downtime activities are available (adapted from Xanathar's):
Gambling - Bet at least 10 GP. Make one Insight, one Deception, and one Intimidation check. If you are proficient with dice or cards, that tool proficiency can replace the relevant skill in any of the checks. Your rolls will determine the outcome of your gambling.

Threnody pays for a room, a large dinner of roasted vegetables and spiced lamb, and after a little hemming and hawing - her third glass of wine of the day. The Tethyrian Tanagluth she sips is rich and velvety, its warmth blooming through her chest, lingering on her tongue with touches of clove and dark cherry. As a habitual drinker, she doesn't seem particularly intoxicated. Experience has granted her an enviable tolerance, even if it's the kind of gift she'll likely pay for in her later years.
As the hours pass and patrons gradually find their way back to the tavern, the paladin tries her luck at cards once more. This time, her fortunes appear to fare rather better - her aptitude at bluffing and bluster helps her rake in handsome winnings. Amused by her success, buoyed by the victory over Dead-Eye and the buzz of the wine, she pays for the dinners of everyone else in the party (including Ralph!).
The day wears on and Threnody finds herself relaxing on one of the couches on the lower floor, her legs stretched out over one of the armrests. She rifles through her belongings and plucks out a large wind instrument crafted from dark, polished bamboo. With the hum of conversation in the background, she lifts the flute to her lips, approximating the melody that was sung by the ethereal voice earlier in the day. She gradually drifts off to sleep, and only when interrupted by the need to answer a call of nature, does she stumble upstairs for a full night's rest.
Kaster and Ralph will mostly stick to their room Relaxing. They will both enjoy a pleasant dinner, Kaster a couple glasses of wine with his, and there is likely a couple walks outside so that Ralph can take care of business, so to speak. But mostly it is lounging and relaxing and conserving energy for the dreaded tomorrow... Kaster isn't sure what tomorrow will bring but he knows he is not looking forward to it.
Bees joins Threnody and enjoys a delicious dinner. He also has fun playing the various games of chance. However, he sticks to water, recognizing he had far too much alcohol earlier in the day and wanting to ensure he kept a clear mind. He thanks Samosh for paying for the night's stay and engages in small talk throughout the night with various patrons. He praises Threnody on her flute skills. As the night winds down, Bees heads off to bed, placing a dagger under his pillow and a second dagger wedged into the room's door so the weapon falls if it opens.
"Mn, Understood."Is all Liatris had to add in response to Tarina's reaction. But to Therondy she says, "No need. Once I'm finished making a copy, you are free to do with it as you wish. I simply wanted a copy on an arguably sturdier material, and in case the original somehow ended up lost or destroyed. But, I... You do have my thanks for offering."With that, Liatris returned to the work, but took care not to wholly tune out everything going on around her in the meantime.
And once satisfied with the end result, she at least offered Threnody the original. But if the tiefling still insisted she kept, then there's but a shrug out of the artificer before carefully storing it away in side pouch usually partially hidden by clothing and armor. After which she paid up for a room and spent much of her time in meditation, nearly missing the call for dinner. Nearly, but not quite. Like Bees, she refrained from further intoxicants, choosing instead to go with a cup tea alongside whatever was light on the menu. But soon after, she returned to her room, and it is there she'd stay for the rest of the evening, continuing her meditations and reharmonizing with what few echoes of Mechanus were to be found on the Material plane until it was truly time for bed: with a dagger beneath the pillow, and her crossbow in easy reach on the -very- off chance any surviving pirates tried to pay the group a visit in the middle of the night.

Threnody proves to be quite adept at playing cards and manages to double the amount of coins she put down. Flush with coin after her victory, she pays for everyone's dinners, including Ralph's. Kaster and Ralph mostly stay in their room. Bees tries his hand at gambling. He doesn't earn quite as much as Threnody but he does make back what he put down plus 5 gold. Liatris retired to her room and spent some time in religious meditation, focusing on echoes of Mechanus.
Everyone receives the benefit of a Long Rest and ascends to Level 2!
In the morning, after everyone wakes and eats breakfast, you travel to the bathhouse (unless you have further business in the Elfsong.)
The bathhouse is a one-story stuccoed building with stained-glass windows and clay roof tiles. Ten-foot-tall walls enclose a large courtyard outside the southeast corner of the building. The closed wooden doors to the courtyard are engraved with images of smiling nymphs dancing and frolicking in water.
At first glance, no one seems to be around. Everything is quiet save for the regular hustle and bustle of pedestrians on the street.
Bees was glad he'd stopped drinking early. It helped him not lose his gold gambling the night prior. He even made a few coins, which was a bonus. The gruff halfing still looked quite haggard in the morning, though. Beard and hair are going in all directions. He didn't care. Bees pulls his hood up and eats breakfast in silence.
Bees takes the lead as the group moves to the bathhouse. He keeps watch specifically for any pirates that might want to seek revenge for their dead captain. It was disappointing to Bees the pirates didn't like the idea of Bees becoming their new captain, but it made sense. 'They don't even know me after all.'
Arriving at the bathhouse, the black bearded halfling tries to open the door and peak inside. If the door isn't locked, he says, "Hello? Are you open yet?"
If the rogue does find the door locked, he turns to his companions and asks, "You wan't me to open it?" in his usual deep gravelly voice.
Liatris rarely went into any meditation sessions with any expectations beyond leaving them feeling more centered. But this go around had somehow been different. Or at least, it felt as much, though never to the point of disturbing her. For all of her growing curiosity however, none of it would be consciously indulged upon by the 'wood elf'. If anything was to come of it, an unburdened mind would see to it.
So, it came as little surprise to her that, upon waking the next morning to the faint echoing sound of clanking gears, some of her gear her hands rested upon the modified remains of a backpack turned satchel, and her fingers bore the ache of strenuous activity. It was almost enough to bring a smile to her face. Almost. Yet with plenty of work in the day ahead, she resolved to gradually figure out the changes during breakfast and enroute to the bathhouse.
"Hmm... Perhaps." Answered Liatris if no staff made their presence known in response to Bees initial inquiry. She then looked about the general area, searching for any hidden sentries or wards that might suggest an alarm having been placed on the establishment grounds.
While Threnody had been away retrieving Tarina, Liatris took out what appeared to be a small, makeshift journal, along with an ink well and pen, and had quietly been scribbling away, no doubt preemptively notating questions in anticipation of the not-an-interrogation.
DM for Tyranny of Dragons and Phandelver and Below, two in-person campaigns that meet weekly on Friday and Saturday nights.
(OOC: Wooot! That's what I'm talking about!)
