Despite seeing Samosh fall, catching a glimpse of Wendyl fleeing, and the pain from her own injuries, Liatris seemed otherwise unmoved by Deadeye's threat. Instead, she broke out another vial from some obscured belt pouch and traced a finger along its sigil, priming it. "You are either more incredibly stupid than I originally thought, or exceptionally foolish. Either way, I cannot comply. I require her head at the very least, my orders are clear, and I do not fear death. Can you and your men say the same?"She said cooly, and without waiting for a reply, sent the vial flying with a sharp flick of the wrist for Dead-Eye and a minion of his (Pirate C) if close enough together, or to the pair closer at hand.
Afterwards, she would daringly step up closer to Dead-Eye if doing so didn't mean catching a blade in her back during the process. Otherwise, she continued to hold her ground, drawing forth a rod that at the press of some hidden button expanded into heavy headed spear. One which she'd immediately brandish at the nearest pirate in short order. And depending on the timing of events, she either found herself looking mildly surprised at Kester, and/or soon side-eyeing Threnody with faint look of sympathy. Or at least, the closest thing anyone would get to out of the "wood elf".

Liatris castigates the pirate captain with sharp words, followed by another vial of acid. Unfortunately, both pirates manage to dodge the vial this time (18 & 16).
Samosh falls to the blade of one of the pirates but Kaster is quick to cast some healing magic, bringing him back from the brink of death.
Threnody, her voice enhanced with thaumaturgy, implores the patrons of the Elfsong to help take down Dead-Eye and his goons.
Many of the patrons have already fled, but one man, a giant of a human with a bald head, silver earrings, and an impressive beard stands up. "Five gold, huh? Well, it ain't nothin', and I hate to see a bully get his way," says the man to the tavern at large. "Come on boys, let's teach these scum a lesson for disturbin' our drinking!" The two men who were seated at the same table, who had been apparently been watching the fight unfold as it were free entertainment, also got up. One was a dragonborn with silver scales, and the other a stout dwarf with a huge battleaxe strapped to his back.
Bleeding heavily from many wounds, Dead-Eye glances around with darting eyes. It's clear he's heard the bald man down below, who made no effort to be quiet. "To hells with this!" Dead-Eye suddenly cries, holding his bleeding neck. "The wench ain't worth it! Men, let's go!"
Dead-Eye turns tail and runs down the stairs, pushing his startled men out of the way. Kaster and Samosh may both take an attack of opportunity if they wish!
Bees eyes Threnody with admiration as she utilizes her magical prowess to think outside the box. How quickly her call to arms turned the tide of battle in our favor. Perhaps we have a fighting chance after all.
He watches Kaster run to Samosh and heal the big lug, 'Thank goodness,' he thinks as he watches the cleric work. 'At least this one didn't run from the fight.'
Bees had seen Wendell flee the fight, 'the coward'. When this is done, perhaps I'll find him and make sure he knows he let us down. No time for that now though...
A smile spreads beneath Bees' beard as he sees the pirate captain turn tail and run, 'How did this one win over this crew if he flees a fight so easily?' Bees wonders. "Oh no, you don't! Not after threatening my crew! You're mine Dead-eye!"
Bees drops his shortbow and draws two blades, then vaults over the railing to the stairs, landing just behind the pirate captain and sliding the blades into each of the pirate captain's sides.
Without hardly thinking at all, at all, Kaster reacts with a violence he doesn't know he possesses. Grabbing the mace he carried for purely decorative purposes, he would swear, he lashes out as the pirate starts to leave...
Mace vs Dead-Eye: 10 to hit for 5bludgeoning damage...
As Dead-Eye tries to run away, Kaster takes a swipe at him with his mace, but, not being particularly used to using the big weapon, he misses.
Samosh lands a powerful kick against the pirate's back, causing him to stumble down the stairs, just as Bees leaps from above, landing behind Dead-Eye.
Bees plunges his dagger deep into Dead-Eye's liver, and the pirate makes a gurgling sound. He falls to the ground, bleeding from many wounds, the light fading from his eyes.
Dead-Eye's crew look around at each other, panic on their faces. The fight goes out of them, and they all start trying to run away!
Samosh may take an attack of opportunity against Pirate C!
Liatris and Threnody may take attacks of opportunity against Pirate A!
Kaster is almost relieved that he didn't hit the pirate. Such close and brutal violence... He shivers at the thought! It's not for him at all, at all. And with that in mind, he is more than happy to see the rest of the ruffians scurrying away and will happily leave them to it! He just hopes the rest of his compatriots have the good sense to do the same and not get themselves into any more trouble, there's more wounded than he can handle already!
With that in mind, Kaster scurries back over to Tarina and kind of huddles himself above her. He's stabilized her already but he does want to try to ensure she stays that way and doesn't accidentally get hit by a stray arrow or anything when this whole to-do is already over, for all practical purposes...
(Basically just taking the dodge action and trying to protect the unconscious cause of all this...)
"Was it worth it? Turning on your own captain for greed?" Threnody taunts the fleeing pirate, before attempting to gut him with her spear. As he speeds down the steps, she walks leisurely to the top of the stairs, unholstering one of the dark, hardwood assegai she keeps bundled on her back.
The devil-woman bounces the javelin in the palm of her hand, testing its weight. She closes her left eye as she takes aim. "Run, if you wish. But you cannot outrun judgement." The weapon sings as it sails through the air, seeking its mark in the back of the pirate's skull.
Reaction: Attack of opportunity on Pirate A, one-handed spear. To hit: 15, damage: 6.
Movement: To the top of the stairs. Action: Drops her spear. Draws a javelin and attacks pirate A (as part of the same action, due to the Thrown property). To hit: 14, damage: 10. Bonus Action: None.
Reaction: AoO on Pirate A, Yklwa. (Lethal, Melee)Yklwa - To Hit: 11 For: 0 Damage. (As I'm pretty sure an 11 would miss. z.z;)
Having lashed out with her spear more so out of reflex than conscious thought, Liatris strike was anything but true. Yet despite the setback, only the slightest of frowns touched the corner of her lips, before she then briskly made her way to the banister. Liatris paused in step along the way, and after only a brief inspection, gave a slight nod of approval to Kaster. "She yet lives? Hmn. No doubt your work. You've... done well."
Following that note, Liatris continued on her way until she could spy the growing pile up near the entryway. While the pirates were no longer an immediate threat, and thus most logical thing would've been only to watch and make sure they fled, if but to sink home the message any petty revenge later would lead to trouble, Liatris flung her Yklwa for a pirate. Only after seeing her weapon land home did she allow a small smile of satisfaction to bloom.
Movement: 25ft to West to the banister(railing?).

Bees yells at the remaining pirates, to stand down and drop their weapons. "Stop and drop yer weapons ya maggots!" He jumps onto a nearby table on the first floor of the tavern. "I'm taking command of yer crew now as I claim the title of Captain in the same way your former Captain did. If anyone wants to challenge me, step up now and we'll add one more dead man to the floor here." Bees wishes he was better at this kind of thing, but it's really not his forte. He's much more comfortable in the shadows, not the center of attention.
Persuasion: 10 Intimidation: 3
Bees growls menacingly at the pirates as they try to flee, waiting for them to decide their next move.
Samosh lashes out at the fleeing pirate but just misses his mark.
Threnody delivers a deep wound to Pirate A as he flees, but Liatris misses with her yklwa as he runs by.
Liatris then throws her yklwa at Pirate E, and the weapon sinks into his back.
Threnody moves to the top of her stairs and throws a javelin at Pirate A. It impales him cleanly through the back, emerging from his abdomen, and he falls down the stairs, dead.
Kaster moves back over to Tarina and watches over her unconscious form.
Round 5:
Bees attempts to sway the pirates over to his side, but they are too busy running away to pay any attention to the halfling.
Pirate C attempts to shove Bees out of the way so he can continue fleeing down the stairs. Contested Athletics or Acrobatics check, DC 9, or be pushed five feet backwards.
The rest of the pirates manage to make it to the front door and flee the tavern, disappearing into the crowded street outside.
There is one pirate left, blocked by Bees. The bald man on the first floor glares at the fleeing pirates with clear contempt. "Cowards!" he spits. He removes the crossbow from his back and takes aim at the one remaining pirate. Before anyone has a chance to react, he releases the bolt, and the final pirate topples over next to Bees, a bolt sticking out of his eye socket.
Combat is over! Tarina will wake in 2 hours without further healing. What would you like to do?
Kaster, once calm has settled back in, will do a quick scan of his comrades. He has one healing blessing from the Gods left to him today and will gladly pray for and lay hands upon whichever of them seems the most in need of the help. (8 HP of healing to whichever of you is closest to death?)
"Let's just be careful to have no more scraps today. The Gods above like me well enough but not so much that they're allow me to do that more than a couple times a day," he urges the others.
Besides this, Kaster continues to look after the fallen Tarina and do what he can to clean and dress her wounds (as well as that of the other injured) in a more non-divine way.
Liatris had been squinting at Bees from the upper level ever since the halfling spouted nonsenses about becoming a Captain. But seeing as none of the Pirates had been foolish enough to accept the demand, she soon shook her head, dismissing it as merely some strange form of halfling jest.
Afterwards, she too began scanning the area for the remainder of her comrades to assess their condition. But with Kaster beating her to the punch in tending to the worse of the party(Therondy), she opted to move Tarina to one of the lounge chairs to rest, before leaving her in Kaster's tender care. "And I take that has been thoroughly exhausted for the day at this point? Very well. It would take Tarina some time to recover, in any event, and by the time she does, it will likely be too late to do much more... But we will see."She says to Kaster, and by extension any other party members that made their way/were on the second level.
With that all said, Liatris then set her focus on searching for Wendyl on the 2nd floor, and making doubly sure the little coward hadn't slipped away. And upon finding him(if able to find him), she'd try to snatch him up by scruff of the collar and bring him out to the party.
Bees shrugs his shoulders as the pirates ignore his call to be their Captain. Truthfully he didn't think they would go for it. The pirate tries to push past Bees, but the halfling is surprisingly dense for his stature and is unmoved. A bolt embeds into the pirate shortly thereafter, dropping the pirate dead at Bees' feet. Bees flips a gold coin to the comrade on the bottom floor who fired the bolt and gives him a nod of thanks.
He then begins searching the dead for any valuables they may have been carrying as he slowly makes his way back upstairs.

[[OOC: Bees thought having a ship at our disposal would be nice... lol.]]
Threnody hobbles towards Tarina's table and falls into a chair with a grunt. Trembling fingers clutch at her glass as she downs the remainder of her wine, the beverage as dark as the blood still gushing from her wounds. "I'm officially retiring from front-line work." She declares with a dry chuckle and then grimaces from the agony, the pain seeming to issue from absolutely everywhere. "Effectively immediately. The next time there's a horde of angry pirates, I'm tucking tail and going full Wendyl."
When Kaster appears at her side and his magic begins knitting together torn flesh as good as new, she exhales with relief. "By Ilmater's Broken Bones, that feels good. Thank you, Kaster. You acquit yourself well in all that furore." She pats his hand gratefully, and then pays the favour forward by offering a measure of her own healing to the most injured.
When that is done, she heads over to Tarina and begins carefully examining the woman's belongings for anything of interest - motivated more by a desire for information than pilfering from the unconscious woman.
Action: Lay on Hands for 3 HP to whoever needs it most. Action: Search Tarina's belongings. Investigation: 18
Kaster continues to watch over Tarina. She is stable, her breathing is steady, but her eyes remain closed.
Liatris opens the door that Wendyl closed behind him. It's a small room with a single bed, a chest of drawers and a nightstand. There's a small window that has been pushed open. If she leans out the window to look outside, she sees that it's about a ten foot drop to the alley below. However, there's a pile of sacks and other trash piled up right below the window. Wendyl could likely have survived a fall without injuries if he landed on the pile and then disappeared out into the streets.
Bees investigates the bodies of the pirates. The regular crew doesn't have anything of much value. Each one was equipped with a scimitar and hand crossbows. Bees collects a total of 28 silver coins from the crew. Tucked in Dead-Eye’s vest is a pouch containing 32 gp and 15 sp. He also wears two gold necklaces (worth 25 gp each) and a blackened gold ring with a white pearl set in it (worth 125 gp).
Threnody goes over to examine the unconscious form of Tarina. She has a coin pouch with her winnings from Baldur's Bones, totaling 100 gold. There's also a scrap of parchment tucked inside her vest.
In a spidery script, it reads: "Crystal SpringsBathhouse compromised. Suspected Dead Three cultists. Told there is a secret door inside that leads to a dungeon. Stay clear for now. -K"
Kaster offers Threnody a bit of a smile in reply to her thanks. "I am just the funnel for the Gods. Thanks belong to them," he says solemnly. That done he raises a bit of an eyebrow when she, moments later, starts rifling through the clothing and belongings of his charge. It is just a momentary surprise, however, as the benefits of knowing what the woman has on her quickly comes to him. I suppose I'll have to get used to a different way of thinking for a bit,he thinks to himself. This is only confirmed to him by the sight of Bees doing similarly to the attackers they bested.
"She will awaken once she rests up enough," Kaster says to nobody in particular. "I have done what I can. To awaken her earlier would take magics that I am all tapped out on for the day..."
Bees slides the coin into his pouch, intent to divvy it up with his companions once he returns to the second floor. He places the gold necklaces into his pack and slides the ring on his finger. He sees one of the hand crossbows with desire and inspects one to see if it's worth taking. If it is, he straps it and a quiver of bolts to his back and then heads upstairs to rejoin the group. If not, he drops it and heads upstairs to rejoin the group.
Once on the second floor, he looks to the door where Wendyl disappeared into and sees Liatris has already opened it and gone through. He takes in the scene as he crosses the room to join Liatris in grilling our halfling wizard. Disappointment sets in as he sees Liatris looking out an open window to the street beyond. "He got away did he?" Bees asks Liatris, already knowing the answer. "Maybe he was the smartest among us. Come on, let's go get a drink. We've earned it after all that." Bees heads to the bar and looks for the bartender.
At the bar Bees lays out four stacks of coins, each with 6 gold pieces and says, "I found a bit of coin on those pirates. They won't be needing it no more." Though he doesn't say it, his intent is clear through his body language he is giving the coins to his allies, one stack for each person.
He continues to look for the bartender as he lays out a fifth stack of coins.
Can you and your men say the same?" Trembling fingers clutch at her glass as she downs the remainder of her wine, the beverage as dark as the blood still gushing from her wounds.

Samosh chuckles, "Thanks for saving my bacon! That was a little rough for your typical bar fight kids. Let's try to not let that happen again."
He then starts to look for snacks. Turns out fighting and getting knocked out makes one hungry.
"Sooner or later, your Players are going to smash your railroad into a sandbox."

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"

In a spidery script, it reads: "Crystal Springs Bathhouse compromised.

I suppose I'll have to get used to a different way of thinking for a bit, he thinks to himself.
