You all, in one way or another, have found your way onto a ship. Sailing the sea, seeing the wildlife, pillaging the coastline, standard pirate stuff. Guided by your captain, Aaron Shoalborn , you set sail on the adventure of a lifetime. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are interested, make a level 3 character. Homebrew is allowed if you let me review it first, same with UA. Write a short backstory about how you joined Aaron's Crew, and talk to me about your backstory if you want to be a wizard, because wizards are kinda different in this world. 5e 2024, and you can start with one common magic item. No rolling for stats.

Backstory: Murf is a forest gnome who left the woods for his love of the sea. Not having any obvious seafaring traits he offered his services as an assistant in exchange for passage on various ships. Over the last few years he has served as Navigator's assistant, Cook's assistant, Boatswain's assistant, and Quartermaster's assistant just to name a few. If there was a job aboard ship there's a fair chance Murf has been the assistant at some point. These jobs were not all aboard one ship. He has sailed on many ships and each time he had a different job.
After his last job, the one where he was a Navigator's assistant, the ship hit a reef while trying to outrun some pirates. As the ship began to sink the pirates were able to board her and a tumultuous fight erupted. Murf was below decks at the time and when the ship hit the reef he became stuck under a heavy barrel. Once the fighting was over the pirates proceeded to loot the ship quickly before she sank. The captain discovered the little gnome trapped below decks and didn't consider him a threat so tried to free him. While working to move the barrel in waist deep water a shark came after the captain but Murf was able to use Speak with Animals to convince it not to eat the captain. For his reward the captain took him back to their ship along with the loot.
Murf managed to parlay a deal with the captain to join their crew in exchange for his affinity with animals. He was able to help them fish when needed and avoid larger sea animals when they threatened the ship or crew. Some of his other skills and spells also proved useful, particularly his healing. For his loyalty and service to captain Aaron Shoalborn he was given some Cartographer's Tools and later found out the case was magical. Nowadays Murf sails the sea as a pirate adventurer.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."

Common Magic Item: Charlatan's Die (Though I prefer the Gloves of Thievery myself)
Crew Role: Scout
Backstory: As a child, Eirith was always enamoured by shiny objects. The rings, necklaces, earrings, and other jewelry that adorned the clothes and skin of the nobility of her mountain home sparkled like stars in the sky. She longed to be one of them, dreaming of being part of the nobility with the same sparkling stones and metals adorning her feathers. But for now, she and her mother lived in poverty, with the threats of criminals and sickness ever looming over them. Eirith had hope, however, that the two of them could live out their lives together in peace. That hope was shattered when her mother was infected with a terrible sickness. As the two of them lived in poverty, Eirith couldn’t afford any medicine for her mother, so she did what she had to do - she began stealing. She stole the jewelry she adored and sold them for money to buy the medicine she needed. Despite her efforts, however, her mother got weaker and weaker, till eventually… she passed. Eirith tried grieving for many weeks, but it didn’t work, she couldn’t move past it. She didn’t want to believe her mom was dead, so she kept stealing to try and buy more medicine for her mother. Eventually though, she was caught, and she was sentenced to 15 years in jail for all the years she spent stealing. She was resigned to her life at that point, when suddenly the roof of her jail cell collapsed due to being old and worn. Seeing the chance, she got out as soon as she could, and took cover on the nearest ship, which happened to be Aaron's ship. Somewhere between that time and the time Aaron found her on the ship, she befriended a mouse she named Mick.
He/Him. I am the DM, you are the player. You make the mistakes and I decide the consequences. Now, with that being said - Are you SURE you want to cast Fireball?
I'm just your everyday dungeon master. Ignore that jar full of souls. And those bones in the corner are just props, don't worry. I'm definitely NOT a lich. Definitely.

I'll send you a UA Link for approval soon. I have an idea for a character. The character idea will be posted in PMs as well. No the character isn't a Wizard.

Could I be an artificer? Though, I don't think there's anyway to use the new UA version in the character builder, so it would need to be the old version.
I can play any role, so fitting in isn't a problem, but I'm thinking maybe a trickster warlock, and to follow the 2024 description, he would be mainly seeking out how he can free those under tyranny, while causing as much disruptive chaos to those who aim to keep them in servitude, as much as possible. He could play Tanky, but would probably play 2nd tank, or off tank.
I'm thinking maybe as a second choice, a Warlock with a similar goal in mind. Maybe Celestial or Archyfey patron.
I am interested. I'd join as an explorer of the wilderness, seeking to chart the unexplored lands.
I am a half-dragon, nine years old, of the Feathered Nether dragon species. I am a ranger, level 1, with XP leveling.
My backstory is this:
Organizations: Red Admiral is a half-dragon who lives in the Wild Nether with his mother, a Feathered Nether dragon named Freya, and his father, Emanuel Hope, a human from Earthrealm.
Allies: Red Admiral is friends with (some of) the animals in his home forest.
Enemies: In the Wild Nether, there are poachers who hunt Freya's kind for their hides. Red Admiral has vowed to rid the realm of poachers, and other illegal harmers of nature.
I've got a tank I have been wanting to play for a bit. He will be an Eldrich Knight.
Name: Jodak Kor
Goliath (Hill Giant)
Eldrich Knight Fighter
Roll: Tank
Magic Item: Ruby of the War Mage
Backstory:
After farming with his family since he was able to pick up a sythe, he was ready for adventure. His family was against him leaving his home they needed him at the farm. There was always so much work to be done, so much responsibility.
So he kept working and waited for the right moment. He waited and planed for a couple of years and then his opportunity came. He learned of ship that was docking at a port a couple days away and was recruiting crew men while the ship was undergoing repairs.
He took his opportunity. He left and joined up with this crew sailed with them for a few months. Then moved into the city to find adventure.
While there he met one of the members of the Council and became his apprentice. As part of his learning he joined a group and helped a couple of villages with some basic monster hunting. He learned the ways of magic and enjoyed becoming more powerful.
However, soon he tired of the apprenticeship and it's constant learning; it felt a bit like the farm again, stuck with responsibility. He wanted more adventure and didn't care how he got it.
He eventually made his way back to the sea to another ship. One day pirates attacked his ship. He defended it as best he could but he wasn't able to stop the pirates… So he aksed if he could join them. He spent the first couple of weeks in the brig but eventually Captain Aaron was convinced of his genuine intent, or at least that's what Jodak thought.

Yes, you can. You can use the old version from Tasha's, so long as you use the new spells and races.

Sorwin21, because an Eldritch knight is partially a wizard, either change your subclass or PM me abt your backstory. We won't have to change much but some of it may need to be edited.

Backstory: Soveliss was born on Laurisilva Isle, the island of carpenters. He was apprenticed to a shipwright, but was hungry for more. He learned of the inventions of the wider world from visiting ships, and started to experiment on his own. At some point, Aaron's ship came to Laurisilva in need of repairs, but no one would help a pirate, until he run into Soveliss. He agreed to fix the ship if he could join them, so he could test his inventions in action, and get his hands on more materials and inspiration.

A level 3 homebrew campaign for 10 and up that may or may not be partially inspired by a manga that may be called one piece.

When you say for 10 and up, do you mean age 10, or 10 players?
I don't have a signature.
Also is this strictly restricted to 2024 rules or can we make characters using 2014 rules?
