So with the mirror falling onto the floor, (and more importantly with it smashing as Boff is before me) does any of that change anything in Alaric's room (or in what he sees in his mirror)? That might impact his turn hence me asking
^^ Yes. The inbound weirdness will affect Alaric’s room as well. The haunted mirror and the mirror-Alaric will be swapped out for the BBEG of the twin rooms. (This phase of the encounter lasted until one side vanquished their mirror-threat … only to find it replaced by something else. Then both encounters rejoin, instead of being two different encounters in two different rooms).
Alaric won’t be able to one-shot the mirror-Alaric with his next action though, but the good news is … the mirror-Alaric won’t get another action either (due to the inbound weirdness).
Question about the next phase. Hex allows you to swap to a new target if the old one goes to 0hp. Would the swapping to a bbeg constitute the same effect or will I be unable to transfer hex to them?

I see no issues with swapping.
EDIT - Assuming the new target can be targeted, of course.
Hey y'all. I'm going to need to drop out this campaign. I bit off more than I could chew so to speak. Trying to juggle a 40 hour work week, 4 college courses, and taking care of a five year old and one month old baby has left me a bit brain dead and I haven't been paying enough attention to the campaign, as you have probably been able to tell. It's not fair on y'all so I'm gonna bow out and wish you all the best of luck in finding another who can keep to their commitments.

In terms of that, does Alaric have line of sight of the Knight? Or does fire block that? Also thinking in terms of eldritch blast through the fireplace
So can't see but can hear, and sounds like the fire doesn't provide cover. So you could target with Eldritch blast, but would be at disadvantage for unseen target.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
It's not as clear as I would have liked, but the image in Alaric's mirror in room B is not ... ahem ... reflective of the things that are occurring in room A.
In the beginning of the encounter, a few exchanges' worth of posts were missed, so I snipped out the weirdness where that would have been made clear and jumped straight to the mirror-Alaric portion of the encounter to keep things flowing.

Working late tonight. Will be able to get an update posted tomorrow.

Boff's hammer doesn't seem to want to smash glass for some reason

No worries, EnT. I was happy to have you. Thank you very much for the heads up.
If returning to a PbP is ever in the cards for you, and I am helming a game ... drop me a line and I'll make sure you have a seat at the table.
I'll make sure to give Rats (and his cockroach!) a properly spooky send off.
Good luck man. It sounds like you have a full plate plus a to-go box. Rats will be missed.

Farewell and best wishes. Sounds like you got an epic adventure going on there already. :)

Farewell and good luck with it all. The one month old alone is enough to drain all energy so I'm amazed you are fitting everything else in too.

But is it an unseen target? Is the mirror still intact on Alaric's side? If so he can see what is happening in room A so knows where he is aiming.

No worries then. Blind attacking it is.
