I'm a bit slow on the reply, but Gooterat would follow Boff and Aleric if he noticed them leaving the room. Chicken Little has no desire to fly solo :) I'll be able to post tonight.

I rolled with advantage as I planned to use heroic inspiration but when I read the rules, it seems you choose to use it after the roll so as the first roll was the crit, I've kept the inspiration marked.
I assumed it was declare first as the new lucky feat needs to be declared before the roll
Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but we don't have a way to stabilize him, right? Gooterat has no healing magic, we don't have any potions either, unless I missed a post. If that's the case I'm thinking the best bet is to go get the sisters for help before it's too late. Any other thoughts?

Oh, my mistake. I thought you needed a healers kit at the very least, which Gooterat doesn't have. Being a resourceful little fellow, I'm sure Gooterat will come up with some off the wall way to help.... **insert evil laugh here**

Boff has his turn before Gooterat. He might as well roll a death save because it he gets a 20 he's conscious on 1hp. And then gets stabilised before his following turn so any other result is irrelevant
Would Gooterat have a sense of when his mage armor was about to drop?

To keep the bookkeeping simple, let's just say that the 24-duration would drop just as the group settles down to take their next long rest.
Player: I shout at the scary thing from a distance.
DM: There doesn't seem to be a reaction.
Player: Then I walk over and poke it.

Happy to oblige. :)
How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Gooterat's movement will get him around the corner, but wouldn't the zombie still be out of his line of sight?

Gooterat can reach the square immediately to the right of Alaric with 25' of movement.
From that square, Gooterat can target the sick zombie's current square, but it will benefit from Three-Quarters Cover.
Boff did not have advantage on this Con save. Was this a use of Heroic Inspiration?
Apologies, my mistake. I saw "poison" and assumed advantage, but see that is just for the condition.
Of the two d20 rolls, the first was 11, so would have been a failed save.
The description I gave still works, so I won't edit. But I'll chalk up 7hp damage instead.

Sounds good. Thank you.

^^ It's one of the tweaks between 2014 and 2024.
Another subtle change is that Heroic Inspiration can be used to reroll any die (2014 limited you to Attack rolls, Saving throws, and Ability Checks).
I like this new version much better, being able to declare inspiration after rolling.
@Gooterat, in the IC, Alaric will have dropped the zombie prior to Gooterat's declared action.
You may 'uncast' Witch Bolt and 'unspend' the sorcery point, if you want, and declare some other action.
Will do, thank you.

That is incorrect. Stabilizing and healing are two different things.
Anyone can stabilize a dying character.
