As the last participants puts on their manacles, all gladiators find themselves teleported to an empty room. With the only occupant besides the combatants being a small blond gnome woman. She gives a bright smile as she gives a small curtsy.
"Evenin' fighters, welcome to the prep room before we send you all out to the arena. Blademaster Quack's matches are quite simple, beat the opposing team. The only advantage or disadvantage is the gimmick of the match. This being those manacles you've put on. To which I'll explain now. The gimmick of this match is that your movement is tied to your partner. Wherever they move, you move. We've only limited to movement itself, feels rather silly to see somebody swing a bow at another person. The first to take down their opponent shall be put into stasis until either their partner wins or loses. In the case of each team having a win, it'll cause the platforms to merge and let the last two fight it out."
"The rewards for the match are as follows, 200 gold and a choice of magic item among our ones we've set for the match. And even if your partner lost their matchup, they'll partake in the reward if you win the match. Oh, and Quack enjoys a bit of spectacle. Make it a crowd pleaser and he'll be sure to reward those that can play up a crowd. Let me bring up an image of the arena so you can see it once more. And feel free to ask me any questions."
Brakkina knocks an arrow as she prepares herself for combat.

He/Him. I am the DM, you are the player. You make the mistakes and I decide the consequences. Now, with that being said - Are you SURE you want to cast Fireball?

"Each gladiator shall be starting at one of these locations."
"And the blademaster prefers a fair fight, so he is also offering to loan a weapon of choice for the match. Incase your weapon is ill suited for melees or would prefer to keep it at a distance."
A grue is dropped from a portal in the ceiling, quickly closing as the creature stands up, hoisting its bag of weapons.
"We shall take it back after the match and hand back your weapons, if you do take a loan."
Brakkina looks down at her longbow, and at the grue. "Would I have to trade my weapon in or would I be able to use both?"

(Sorry for delay, work had to take over for a bit.)
"Hmm, give me a moment to ask the arena master." The gnome woman goes silent for a moment before nodding. "They'll allow it. Our staff will come to collect it back once the match is over."
"If there's no more questions, then I can teleport you all to the arena. The match will start once the arena master announces the match."
Brakkina nods, gripping a Shortsword in her hand, just in case.

yeah how big is the arena?
Darkknife initiative 16
Finding himself alone in the odd arena, Darknife shakes his head and glances at this hand crossbow. Maybe this isn't such a good idea.
(Each square is 5 feet, so each platform is 40 feet wide and 40 feet long. The platforms are 30 feet up as well.)
Got it.
19 is my initiative
Gaivax looks at the woman, adjusting the straps on his arm, not out of any neccesity, simply habit.
"Seems simple enough, shoot the other team until they die. I can manage that"
It seems we have an initiative tie

Still not liking the arena, Darkknife reluctantly grabs a scimitar. "Well, let's go."

Valiar slings a javelin over his shoulder.
(Still need both Hydrobolt and Chronic to join the campaign link then I'll start the match.)
