The fog seperates as Krakk flies into the air. Hovering 20 feet or so above the ground, you can make out a small village less than half a mile down the road. You can't make out the entirely of the place, as it quickly receded into darkness, but from what you can see, a single building among the cobblestone streets has a light flickering from a window, the rest lay dark. Said building stands in the center of the village, at a crossroads.
There is no life in the streets, no movements of any kind really. You feel a slight breeze blow eastward, back down the road you came, and on it you can hear the faintest sound. The sound of a women's scream.
Tall shapes loom out of the dense fog that surrounds everything. The muddy ground underfoot gives way to slick, wet cobblestones. The tall shapes become recognizable as village dwellings. The windows of each house stare out from pools of blackness. No sound cuts the silence except for mournful sobbing that echoes through the streets from a distance.
The sound of sobs seems to be coming from a house just south of the center of the village. You note that the only building with any light flowing from it's windows is a large structure in the center of town. A thin trail of smoke floats from it's chimney, but no sound can be heard coming from the place.
Once the party reaches the village Anchor will pull his maul out. Taking the lead he will try to pin point the crying or anything else that could be a threat.

Anchor charges into the city streets, but struggles to make out the true destination of the wailing, due to the echo-ish nature of the area. Finch though is able to find the home. As you approach you see a dark, dilapidated two story building made of wood with a brick base. The steps on the front of the house lead to a small porch, and a door that's tattered and hanging on it's hinges. The sound of a women's sobs screeches from the second floor window above the entrance to the home.
Finch, you can finally make out words among the screaming and sobbing. "No! Please... no, not my baby. My poor baby.."
Ignoring the others second guessing, Anchor will open the door and head inside. "Over thinking can lead to death on the battlefield... let's head inside and get out of the rain."
Anchor pushes the wilting door aside and enters the home. Everything is covered in a thick layer of dust. Furniture is upturned and broken, laying in shambles across the sagging wooden floor. The smell of old wood is pervasive. You stand in an entryway that leads directly into a living space, the kitchen is visible down a hallway, there are stairs leading up on the right side of the living area you stand in. The wailing sound is louder now, and you can make out the following between sobs and screams.
"Gertruda, my poor girl. Come back to me. GERTRUDA!"
Krakk doesn't see anything threatening in the house. In fact, he sees no movement at all, save the members of his party.
Anchor steps to the top of the stairs, there's a single door at the top, standing slightly ajar. A dim light emanates from the room. As he pushes the door open, he sees a women sitting on the floor, facing him. She's cradling something in her arms, crying still. She's stopped screaming, but sobs quietly. She sits in a pile of dirty rags, old clothes hang from her thin frame. The thick layer of dust is present in this room as well, though more disturbed than below.
A single candle sits in a candle stand a few feet away. It's dim light is the only illumination. She doesn't notice that you've entered, or if she has, she hasn't acknowledged your presence.
The women jumps at Tingting's words. She really hadn't noticed the group enter her home. She shuffles around, and looks up at you. She's dirty, and looks like she hasn't eaten in some time. You can see that the thing she's holding is an old stuffed doll. "My Gertruda, he took her. That damned devil. He took my baby. Please, if you see her, tell her that her mother misses her dearly. Blast him."
"That demon, Strahd took my girl. He took her from me. She's 17, young and beautiful and all I had. Of course she'd understand, you have to save her! Please!.." she trails off, weeping. After a moment she collects herself. Looking into your eyes, she says "My name is Mary. Gertruda is all I had in this world. This was her doll when she was little. It's all I have left of her after that devil took her from me..."

Tingting will peek out from behind Anchor and ask the woman. "What's wrong? Can we help?"
The women jumps at Tingting's words. She really hadn't noticed the group enter her home. She shuffles around, and looks up at you. She's dirty, and looks like she hasn't eaten in some time. "Who took her?" Tingting wants to know. "And how old is Gertruda? Is she a baby? Could she even process if we give her your message"
She will then step closer to the woman. "Oh, my name is Yu Tingting, who are you?"
"That demon, Strahd took my girl. He took her from me. She's 17, young and beautiful and all I had. Of course she'd understand, you have to save her! Please!.." she trails off, weeping.
