Remembering the state of Ireena's former home, Illmirth quickly ruled out similar nocturnal attacks. The windows were curtained, and that certainly wouldn't keep the wolves (and worse!) at bay. Now what vile creatures couldn't stand sunlight...
Illmirth eyed the old mansion with skepticism. He moves closer to Ireena and speaks quietly, "Do you trust this man?"

The dilapidated walls of the mansion do not surprise Crisaryn. This seems to be the norm in these lands. The bundles of sticks do have her curious. She pauses to hear the answer to Lorelei's question.
The area lacks craftsmen. I'll try to apprentice Freet to one, always work available. The Baron spends most of his money to maintain the towns wellbeing. If you want to win him over talk about the upcoming festival and offer to help, the festival of the blazing sun. I'm helping to weave wicker lanterns. The baroness will welcome any help that you can give.
Here she opens the door and pulls the hangings aside. They were once beautifully woven tapestry of the familys crest. Now they have seen better days.
A young towns guard beckons you forward past the withies laying on the floor awaiting different weavers. Are you here for the Burgomeister? Father Lucien is already in there. They'll be pleased to see you.
He knocks and opens the door to an impressive study, all oak shelves and walls in dark wood highlighted by the drawn curtains and more hanging tapestries. Visitors milord!
Vargas Vallakovich looks up from his map table, Lucien by his side.
What can I do for you, or is it what you can do for me. I saw that Ole Bonegrinder was afire, your doing?
Bowing in a formal show of respect, Illmirth greets the Burgomeister. "Grertings kind sir, Illmirth at your service. Indeed the smoke you saw was our doing. We discovered that the women making the dream pies were in fact hags. They were trading their pies to villagers for their children and using those innocents in the disgusting pies. We freed two children and found bones and clothes, evidence of those who died by the hags hands previously. The hags are no more."

The warrior also bows respectfully and nods in agreement, not interrupting the story. It was a good days work getting rid of those foul creatures and that evil place.

I see, and the children, were they from Vallaki? What proof do you have that they were hags the Burgomeister asks
Ireena curtseys then butts in, Dear Baron they were from my old home their parents lost to the drugs in the dream pies, as good as orphans now. The boy is old enough to apprentice, I was thinking with your influence to get the stonemasons to sponsor him. The girl can stay with us and attend school until she too is old enough to apprentice.
The young priestess too bows respectfully to the burgomeister, having nothing much to add to what the drow had answered. She still pondered the curtains and couldn't quite see that they were needed, or was there something sinister hidden even within these walls.
"Respectfully, we didn't expect the need to bring back evidence, but even if the old bonegrinder is burned down I'm quite certain there will be evidence back there to support our claims. Also, obviously the children can testify to the truth, but I believe it would be wrong to make them relive their horrid captivity." Lorelei states firmly.
"We encountered one of the hags in Barovia. We prevented her from leaving with another child she had locked in a cage. Our sharp eyed companion, Vaelar, saw through her disguise. She cursed our friend, Crisaryn, with her evil magic. The good cleric of Barovia knew of the wicked works of the hags and lifted the curse in short order. We decided to investigate their lair in the old windmill, where even more evidence was discovered, of which you have been told already." Pausing for a moment the bard takes a quick breath and stands tall and confident. "I hope that you are satisfied with our account of the encounter. If you must, please speak with the friends of Ravenkind, their gracious assistance aided us in out task."

You hear footsteps behind you and turn at the warm voice, Now Vargas we have the proof. Here are heartstones and soulpouches. The pouches are made of human skin. We are giving a heartstone to each cleric, here Lucien is yours, it has healing properties, Lorelei already has hers and I'll give the third to Rhianne when she returns. The pouches I will destroy now I've set the souls free. Hujj has eye witness accounts of the hags. Hilde says leaning heavily on her walking stick, a finely carved piece of work

Crisaryn too just lets Illmirth tell of their endeavor against the hags. After the earlier questions, she is curious how the Burgomeister might react.
