I've taken part in sin eating before, some honeycakes would be appreciated. Betta took a long sniff, From the smell up here the village is roasting a pig for the harvest fete, I haven't eaten crackling for years.
Best roast pork in Barovia, Wilhelm puts his special blend of spices on it and the crackling is so crispy that its crunch leaves you with a mouthful of flavour, Elsa said. Elsa turned to speak to the party , Are you headed for Vallaki tomorrow? Ireena has her wagon full, it will be sad to miss her, but better that than under the Devils spell. Come let's head back to the village.
"Yes, we plan to accompany Ismark and Ireena. With luck, we should be able to travel with the Vistani caravan."
When the business was concluded and the ravens had consumed their snacks Illmirth followed the group. He glanced back over his shoulder a few times, finding some measure of inspiration in the configuration of stones and the ravens that perched on them. He began to hum very softly, already working on his next song.

Crisaryn had nodded when Elsa had asked about sin eating and Illmirth told her about their previous experience with that practice. See then watched Hrujj take off with the message, and listened to the Elder speak of the celebration tonight. "Feels like we've had feasts and revelry every night in this place. As bleak as this place seems at times, it's like an endless party."
She is ready to head back to town if the business here is complete.
The young blonde priestess nods and grins briefly at Crisaryn's comment. Perhaps these lands fought the threat of despair with taking any opportunity to feast. Lorelei too would follow along with the companions once their business at the circle of Ravenkind was concluded.
The unusual drow considered Crisaryn's comment, and found it to be quite observant. He thought back to his departure from the Underdark; ten-days stacked up behind ten-days, new and terrifying ways to die at every turn or cavern. He thought himself fate touched, or the luckiest mortal in all the realm, to have survived the trip. The people of Barovia seem similarly endangered from hordes of undead, led by a more powerful undead. Wolves under his command prowl the woods, and the mist traps most of them here. With terror at every turn, perhaps just surviving each day is cause to rejoice.
"I assume that each day of survival in Barovia is a call for celebration to those that dwell here under Strahd's scrutiny. The Vistanti are much like a band of gypsies I traveled with briefly on the Trade Way. They live free, travelers and traders, living in the moment. They too tipped their wineskins often, although I must confess, never have I known a people who could out do the Vistani in that area!"

Hearing Illmirth's and Vaelar's comments about her statement, the faintest of smiles comes to her lips. "Yea, that's probably it. Life is difficult here, which makes any positive a cause for celebration."
"If you have been alone in these woods for any amount of time and are still alive then you know how to use that spear you carry," the bard says with a smile. "I am Illmirth, well met."

"Well I met a smallish man (She stands over six and a half feet tall, so some men would be smallish) and he said there would be a unicorn in this forest!" her eyes light up as she smiles then frowns.
"But then it got all foggy like you know? And all I saw were wolves...I hope they didn't eat the unicorn!" she looks back into the trees a little anguished.
Well met Alerya you timed your coming perfectly. It's Harvest festival today, free food and drink in the village. I've enough lunch in the stewpot for nooning, before the main celebration tonight. I'm Mother Betta, cleric of Lathander, the Morning Lord. I have seen no sign of a unicorn in these woods on my way through, though plenty of wolves. What say you Elder Elsa?
Elsa
The Svalich woods are too dark for such a being of light, I have heard of no unicorns, though I can ask our hunters. I'm Elder Elsa of the Village of Barovia. Be welcome at our celebration.
A slender woman of just under 6 feet - small compared to Alerya - looks at the newcomer with her bright yellow eyes. Her long brown hair has small dull colored beads woven into it near the bottom. "Good to meet you," she says as well.
As Alerya goes on about a unicorn, she looks at her skeptically. A couple of times she started to ask a question, but she decided it was better to just stay quiet.
A young woman with blonde braided hair wearing a quite form-fitting white uniform of sorts with a golden sun prominently displayed on her chest curiously steps closer to the blue giantess, reaching out her much smaller hand to greet the other. "Well met Alerya, I am Lorelei, another servant of the Dawnfather." She says with a friendly smile before taking a step back again. "And yes, you should come with us back to the village. You might not find any unicorns in this dark forest but there is still much work to do here for those brave and with a pure heart."She says encouragingly.
An elvish-looking man with a deathly pallor lurks toward the back of the group. His eyes are alert, though somewhat sunken in his face. He dressed in dark leather armour, with two swords sheathed across his back alongside a longbow. Despite his appearance, he seems calm and peaceful, if vigilant.
He nods in Alerya's direction and offers her a reserved, "Welcome."
Elder Elsa began to walk back to the village, moving at a fair clip for her age. She gestures the party and Alerya to join her.
Betta sighed then limped after them, wondering what else they'd find today. She'd heard this morning about a woman driven mad by grief over the lose of her daughter. Apparently the companions had tried to talk to her in daylight when she was just a quivering wreck. She'd try tonight just after dark, before the feasting. Hopefully Lorelei would come with her.
Illmirth's pointed ears perk up when he heard mention of the grieving mother. "We tried to speak with her, but alas she was not receptive to our questions. I will join you, it would please me to bring her comfort."

"I suppose so, but I have to agree with Crisaryn, we don't all need to go, I think I can handle any comforting needed by Mary and I doubt there is anything sinister awaiting me at her house, even after dark, you should stay at the festivities and enjoy yourselves and I will reconvene with you after my housecall." The young blonde priestess says with a reassuring smile as they make their way back to the village.
Lorelei I think it best if you and I go to see Mary this evening before the Harvest feast. A united front if you will. You can represent your adventuring party whilst I represent the Morning Lord here in her village. I hope to awaken her to the possibility that Lathander is watching her daughter where ever she is. She'd find more support from the locals if we can get her to visit the chapel regularly.
You are all welcome to eat at the chapel this lunchtime. Alerya you must be hungry by now. I've got a lamb and vegetable soup in the pot with fresh bread, and some apples from the local orchards.

In the distance you see a tall figure relaxing against a tree. When she notices you she stands up and takes a relaxed pose.
Upon getting closer, you see she is decently armed and armored with scale and long spear. Her hair is a darker shade of blue than her skin.
"I've been wandering these forests for days! It's nice to see a friendly face, the name's Alerya." and she holds out her hand.
