Skritch has a wasp in his wimple over the minor-domo's behaviour. A second ago, he thinks, it was all Squirrel this and Squirrel that. And now it's Ekorre all of a sudden and if you don't mind.
He keeps on trotting along on Sunhill, with the group, behind their pint-size pointman.
He knows well enough, Skritch continues cogitating, exactly what kind of a person I am. We Ekorre are a proud and warm people, generous of heart and quick to show friendship. Fierce and loyal we can be. And almost 100% housetrained. Let him think twice before he again casts his feeble rodent-based aspersions.
Vakas turns and looks at Skritch, casting message, saying “Easy buddy, this guy isn’t the most friendly or socially appropriate, but we are moving things along. I know you wouldn’t eat them out of house and home, you have those wonderful goodberries, they fill you up! This dolt doesn’t know, don’t take it personal…” And he turns around and keeps walking after the dwarf, headed toward where they can hopefully rest and relax for a bit.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Skritch takes out a geebee. Then, like a good little suplicant, he goes up and offers it to Olak, "A peace offering, friend," he says.
Then he trots back to his place. He thinks about how he made it extra specially warm for Olak by warming it in his cheek pouches and licking it constantly while it was in there.
He thinks about just how much Olak will enjoy it. And gives himself a pat on the back for being the bigger ratatosk.
Dealuri tries to avoid laughing at Skritch’s preparation of the goodberry but instead snorts loudly when Skritch presents the well-licked berry it to Oscar the Grouch known as Olak. If her noise draws attention to her, she will quickly scan the walls for something, anything, that could be misprinted as being numerous to explain and defend her noise.
Thanadol roll for persuasion (with advantage due to the "gift" from Skritch) as you attempt to bond with the dwarf.
OOC: I do not think combat is likely, but you may surprise me. Skill checks all depend on what you all choose to do and say.
Skritch (with an 18) despite your frayed nerves you do manage to glean some knowledge from the runes decorating this temple. In fact there is a whole wall concerned with the fate of Yggdrasil and the nine worlds. It speaks of how the accursed serpent Jörmungandr sundered the world tree, releasing the nine worlds to be consumed by the fires of the Ragnarök. Asgard was consumed by the flames of Surtr, Midgard sank beneath the waves only to rise anew as the land of Nyrgard on which you now stand; Vanaheim, Alfheim and Svartalfheim were all lost to the void leaving their elven and dwarven kin stranded on Nygard for eternity.
You read on to learn of Jotunheim that can be reached through the frozen obelisks found far to the north, and Niflheim the land of shadows where the roots of Yggdrasil still sink deep into the earth and the gates Helheim may still be challenged. It is said that the lands of shadow reach out to all worlds, though its paths might prove deadly. Finally you see the references to Muspelheim the realm of chaos and fire, drawing your thoughts back to your current predicament.
Dealuri, the dwarf looks up curiously as you snort back the laughter but simply shakes his head and turns away when he sees your attention placed elsewhere. With a shrug he pops the berry in his mouth and grumbles some thanks to you Skritch.
You all come at last to a cosy dinning hall with adjoining bedrooms. "These are the guest quarters." Olak explains, "Someone will be along shortly with food and drink. Is there anything else you require while you wait for the High Seer to return?"
Thanadol (with a 10) while you get the feeling that Olak will not be exchanging friendship bracelets with you any time soon, he does appear to be slightly less prickly with you following your brief exchange.
OOC : The remainder of today and tomorrow are considered downtime. You can question Olak about what is available, explore the temple, sort through your gear, skills and spells and generally perform any activities roll play or otherwise that can sensibly be completed in the time allotted. I'll call a long rest at what I feel is a natural point in proceedings. It is now just after midday. If you feel your character just wants to chill in the guest room for the day then just say so in character and I'll consider them offline until morning :)
Thanadol asks Olak. So what is there to do around here? Like to do something useful with myself. Is there by any chance work or anything valuable around here?
Skritch will spend the rest of the day, before longresting, using his Herbalism kit to make a healing potion. He spends most of his silver and gold (25gp total) to whip one up.
Before he scurries off to do so he telepaths the group letting them know "If, er, anyone else would like a healing drought I can whip another one up on the morrow. I'll just need 25 gold."
As he works on the magic drink he ponders the runework. Niflheim. What folks here call the 'Fell. And the Tree. Sundered. Maybe ending up here wasn’t his fault after all...
Skritch you are able to purchase the supplies you need from Olak who fetches them from the temple stores and can do the same on the morrow if required.
Thanadol you enquire about work and valuables and Olak ponders for a moment, "Well if it's trade you seek that is easy enough, just head out to the temple courtyard and seek out Acolyte Emire, she takes care of the temples stores and deals with merchants and the like when they come calling. As far as work goes you might speak to Overseer Jemile in the main temple hall, they are always looking for strong hands and keen minds to aid in the temples work."
Well... Strong hands not so much but keen mind I've got you covered. Thank you, I will inquire of them.
Thanadol will go find Acolyte Emire just to find out what is for sale. After he get's an idea what's available he heads over to Overseer Jemile to find some work so he can actually have gold to use.
OOC: Is there any treasure I didn't pick up that I should have? I know I have the wand I picked up as well as a spell scroll of Aid
Rachus glad that all is well or well as they can be. He admires the temple as they are led deeper in and firmly suppressed a laugh at Skritch's Goodberry. As for trade he had nothing that needed buying at the moment and contents himself to continue his practice of his flute as the others go about their shopping.
(OOC: Rachus, if you've got any more tunes like that one you shared way back when, that really added to the game, for me. Be v nice to have a sample of the kind of music we'd hee wending its way through the temple...!)
Vakas wanders the halls with Thanadol, going to find what they have for sale and learn a little more about this place as they go. Later he'll return to his room for rest and meditation. He thinks that Skritch's idea for another potion of healing is a good idea, he will secure what is necessary if he can. He also looks for any holy water, taking a small flask to fill up if possible. Really, he just wants to look around and learn more about this place before resting for the evening.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Dealuri will ask Skritch to brew her a potion of healing and give him the coin to do so. She also will go to Emire’s to purchase a robe with long sleeves. Otherwise, she will practice cantrips in her room, at least the ones that do not cause destruction.
Skritch is absolutely loving working with his Herbalism Kit. It once belonged to his grandma's sister, Auntie Spatchclock. A fine one she was with her brews and poultices. The instruments are worn and, sure, much dented, but have not let him down, not a once.
And the ingredients available here at the temple!
Fresh, fresh thyme. Cunningly shaved truffle. Perfectly dehydrated deer scat. This will be some of his best healing medicines yet, he's sure of it.
When any of the others come by he assures them, he'll tackle a second and a third potion on the morrow, each one taking about 8 hours to ready.
He works at the nut cud in his cheeks. The final touch, an invention of his own. It doesn't add anything, magically speaking. But it really brings out the beverages' frothy mouth-feel.
Couldn't be happier, he thinks to himself. Couldn't. Be. Happier.
Seeing the others buy new things brings to mind that wretched cold night and after his practice Rachus will head to Acolyte Emire and purchase a tent 2gp before retiring to their room.
Thanadol and Vakas you are directed to the courtyard where you find Acolyte Emire. She stands before an iron bound oak door that leads to the temple stores. An intricately carved wooden framed shelter is erected here where she holds office, seated behind a neatly organised table of scrolls and ledgers. She looks up as you approach and to your surprise you are looking into the eyes of a fellow Viltyr.
OOC: Reference loot you have not picked up we will need to run back through the game posts and check. Please make sure you add new items and treasure to your character sheet as we go, or drop me a message if you need support creating custom items etc so I know to pick it up for you. We will get to Overseer Jemile once you are done at the stores. :)
(In elvish) "Ah you must be the visitors Olak spoke of." she smiles warmly, "How can I help you?"
She then sees you Dealuri standing to the rear and gives you an apologetic grin, (In common) "My apologies, I have little cause to speak my native tongue and seeing these two," she gestures toward your two elven companions, "I was just asking how I can help." Enquiring about a long robe she smiles brightly and motions for another nearby acolytes to retrieve the item from the stores before turning back to Thanadol and Vakas to hear their requirements while you wait. OOC: The robe will cost 5 silver, I will allow you to choose its appearance :)
Rachus you spend the afternoon and evening in the company of Elvyn, Skritch and Ember. They speak quietly and clearly appreciate the music you are creating. Elvyn even asks for a few tavern favourites as the day wears on. When you nip away to purchase your tent they remain behind, content to eat and rest.

That's persuasion of 10
It was a gamble not using my high portent roll, hopefully that is high enough.
