He scampers over and gives Rachus a huge hug. Around one of his ankles.
"I will always try to have a Healing Word or a, er, Goodberry saved for you, dear Rachus! Yes, I will."
From then on until they are out safe, Skritch will walk with great caution beside Sunhill watching out for any more traps. He will point out anything he sees that is at all suspicious to Vakas (hopefully giving him the Help action in his trap detection work!).
Dealuri dodges the darts but sees Scritch fall. She also sees Rachus quickly save him. “Wow, nice work!” She continues on and tries to be near the squirrel in case she can protect him. And to pet his dog. She has resisted so far but can no longer prevent herself from treating it as a valued pet. “Such a good doggie.”
Vakas notes what happened with the darts, narrowly avoiding getting hit by them, he takes the lead and starts to look for traps that may have been activated on their way out. He moves slowly, testing the passages, looking for pressure plates, other mechanisms for traps to be triggered. “Let’s get the heck out of here and then we will settle up. We’ve got to get Elvyn out of here safe…”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The retreat is a crawl through shadow and fear. Vakas you lead, your eyes missing nothing, while Thanadol’s muttered enchantments allow him to reveal shimmering snares and treacherous flagstones before you. Death comes close several times; a whisper of poisoned steel past your ear, the sudden snatch of a noose at your cloak.
Then, a breath of cold, living air. You stumble from the tomb's dead breath into a still, grey evening under a leaden sky. The raw chill is a brutal, welcome slap.
It is too much for Elvyn. He collapses to his knees on the damp earth, a sob tearing from him. “Thank you,” he gasps, his voice breaking. “By the ravens eye… thank you all.”
Congratulations, everyone is now level 3
"You realize that you are catching on to the secret of success. It's just a matter of concentration."
(Dealuri make a wisdom saving throw as you feel a strange new power flood through your body).
Dealuri gives one violent shiver, perhaps a little more than what just the cold air would account for. She looks around as if expecting to see something or someone but then closes her eyes to listening to the breeze and sniff the air. She then gives into a second violent shiver and opens her eyes wide. "Ahh, I think I understand." she says in a grim voice but smiling mouth.
Skritch squeezes Sunhill's mighty throat as tight as he can. In that way that would alarm a person but dogs barely notice. It's love. Love and relief.
And getting to third level alive. There's definitely a bit of that in there too.
FYI, as soon as Skritch has the benefit of a good night's sleep he will administer Cure Wounds and Goodberies for all, but prioritising Elvyn (OOC: Let me know if that's getting ahead of the curve, playwise. Hopefully, that's okay as flavour if we're winding things up).
Yes, this... this demon they have awakened. That is a dreadful thing, we must stop them. Let us go with Elwyn to Víðarr. Let us put this evil to an end
Dealuri as this new power, this new understanding floods through you (with a 19) there is also a sudden urge to strike out, a hunger for violence and blood. You close your eyes tightly pushing back these dark feelings and for a moment it feels like you are standing in the path of a hurricane, your mind the only barrier between the hunger within and the fragile world without. Then, sudden stillness. The storm has passed and you stand there in the cold darkness breathing heavily and sweating with the strain. Your eyes flicker open...
Anyone looking your way will see that your eyes are now the glimmering gold of a wolf. (You now have Darkvision BR, pg. 23 You can see in darkness (shades of gray) up to 60 ft.)
Elvyn looks up at your words Thanadol and then around at the group, "Yes we must." he agrees, "Such a thing can not be allowed to pass. The Temple of Víðarr is a few days west of here. I have friends there and... will you help me get there?"
Rachus it is you who notices first that all of your mounts are gone. Blood and the occasional large white feather mark the place where you left them.
OOC Lore : You will all know the legends if demons of Muspelheim the realm of fire and the demon king Surtr who slew the all farther Odin. Even the lowest of their kind running loose in the world could spell disaster for the peoples of Nyrgard. Anyone wanting to know more can roll a history or religion check.
From Sunhill's saddle, feeling quite jaunty in the open air after all that time underground, Skritch telepaths to all (OOC: now with a range of 30' yay), "Temple of Víðarr, any one?
"If it's a few days from here, then let's get ourselves safely clear, then look for someplace safe to get us a long rest, eh? That's my, er, suggestion, at any rate..."
“Agree with you Skritch, let’s move away then find a place to rest.. and then onward to the Temple of Víðarr. Dealuri, your eyes… are striking! Amazing…” Vakas pulls out the tooth dagger as they exit, holding it up to Thanadol if he wishes to see it. “I’d like to test this thing out. I have a thing with daggers… the “blade” of it looks strong.. and sharp. Perhaps there will be a town along the way, but if not, we can find someplace safe to rest and recover.” Vakas walks to where the mounts were hidden and tied up, looks at the scene of blood with sadness, a tear coming to his eye. “How…”
Vakas looks at he the small lizard who jumped onto his shoulder, he examines the necklace it has on, he gives it a pet and strokes the top of its head. “How did you get mixed up in all of that…” he thinks to it, looking at it one way and the next. Vakas finds that after their experience, their interaction with the magical orb and his use of mage hand and message that he has even more magical abilities. He creates a mage hand and makes it turn invisible!Oooh, the possibilities..

Yes, we should leave this place. But before we do so….” Dealuri walks over to Vakas and asks to see the dagger. She does something she has never done before - cast Detect Magic over the weapon - in an unhurried and confident manner. “Bring any other loot over here so we can learn it’s properties.”
Detect magic will not do that, says Thanadol knowledgably. That takes the peace of meditation. However it will let you know that it does have some properties.
“Really? Well, I’ll be damned. I guess I need to listen to those voices in my head, at least sometimes. Say, when we get someplace quiet, could you please teach me a little bit about magic? I never really paid any mind to it.” She sighs.
Rachus is taken aback from the loss of Clio his pony. The words would not come out of him as he surmises a mighty winged predator has made a meal of his pony. Glumly he begins walking with the party "I will really miss Clio" he whispers half listening to the others conversation. "Of course we will help you Elvyn"

Let us take Elvyn and go with him to the demon
