Krakan maneuvers around the Big Sandy vortex clockwise until he is a little closer to Salty, calling out in the mayhem and swirling sand, "Salty, maybe we need to give up and move away! I don't know if we can beat this thing! Pull yourself out, I will head out to the northwest! Let's regather near the rocks, maybe by splitting up we can confuse it! I've never seen anything like this!" He kicks out (bonus action) at the thing in frustration, but his kick seems to go wide. He moves out of the area of swirling sand, to the northwest 40 feet, keeping the area of darkness over the creature. When he exits, he looks to the northeast to see if everyone else is safe on the rocks, away from the beast.
Bonus action kick : 10 to hit, for 7 points of bludgeoning damage.
With a snarl and battle cry to rival the thunder of a coastal spring storm Salty brought his longsword across in a viscious slash.
When he felt the blade whistle by, harmlessly missing Big Sandy his resolve faltered. He snarled again in blind fury and frustration, but he trusted in his companions, even when he wanted nothing more than to trade blows with the monstrosity until only one of them remained upright.
With one final primal scream Salty followed the rope out, counting on the darkness to make his retreating form hard to hit.
"Ready yerselfs, hit 'em soon as 'is ugly mugs fer showin'!" he called out. "Whack ''im good, den lights go out 'n me 'n da big man gets back in fer our whacks!" He had no time to marvel at the actual potential of the idea, his thirst for sand blood simply wasn't quite sated.

Krakan has an idea as he watches this play out, knowing that some sort of stratagem may be necessary for them to make it out of this alive. Without saying a word, he cautiously gets down on the ground, flattening himself out, and trying to move very minimally. He looks at a point to the northwest of the creature, focusing on the ground he casts a spell, making the sound of feet running, making sure to direct the creature away from them, toward the northwest. At the start of the round he moves the magical darkness in the same direction, toward the northwest, like someone is trying to run in the darkness. He holds his hand up toward Salty, then toward his lips he pantomimes a “shhhhh” sound. He waits to see what happens. If it is clear that the creature doesn’t take the bait, Krakan will stand and run the rest of his distance toward the rocks.

If the entity takes the bait Samir will hold his action
If the entity does not take the bait, he will move forward a few feet and then cast Create or Destroy Water and have it rain on the sand creature, hoping that the water would cause the creature to collapse.
Big Sandy does not take the bait as it relies more on Tremorsense and its own eyes.
Rain begins falling and Big Sandy roars is anger as the dampest parts sloughs off of its body. It tries to surge forward only to have its leg give way as water seeps into it. A moment later Big sandy is no more than a wet patch of sand.
"Ain't fer bein' no safe wheres in da durn'd desert. I'm fer reckon'n dis rocky patch is good as anywheres."
Salty then moves to Lucan. Laying his hand upon his shoulder the burly orc mumbles a brief prayer to Valkur and releases a wave of healing magic. He smiles, sincerity and friendship evident in his eyes. He offers the rogue another pat on the shoulder and says, "A might close fer comfortin', Mate. Da durn dirt dogs weren't fer playin'."

Krakan gives a sigh of relief as he sees the water wash the sandy creature away, his darkness disappearing. He walks over to the stones and finds the camel, giving some reassuring pats and taking some deep breaths as he gathers himself. He grins at Salty, Samir and Lucan, saying “That got a little tight for a bit. Didn’t know if we were going to pull through, or get sucked down beneath the sands. Let’s take a rest here, up on top of these stones. Hopefully we aren’t too far from our destination, I don’t know how much longer we can make it on this dangerous desert..”. When the team had a little time to catch their breath, Salty rose, dusted some of the sand off of his gear and armor, and sighed deeply. Before the party continued their trek across the sand dunes, he stopped for a moment to inspect the site where Big Sandy fell. He poked around in the sand with a javelin, hoping to find some sort of treasure that may have been part of the monster. When everyone is ready he grumbles his way through their preparations and fall into step with their march, working their way closer to their destination with every heavy footstep.
