Meepo sighs. "Gather round and listen to Meepo's sad tale. Calcryx the white wyrmling was the pride of our tribe, and the goblins, our mortal enemies, were jealous. The goblins, they are not without allies; they sent a mighty bugbear hunter to steal Calcryx, and as you can see from the broken bars he came with a force that Meepo and our guards could not resist."
A tear runs down Meepo's snout. But he seems almost hopeful now that he is talking to you. "Maybe you are warriors yourselves? Maybe you could return Calcryx? I only have things of small sentimental value to offer, but Yusdrayl, our leader, she could offer you fine rewards! And maybe she knows about whatever it is that has drawn you to this place in the first place."
Meepo gives a sheepish toothy smile, trying his best to charm you.
Irina finds Meepo strangely endearing, she turns to the group and says "Perhaps we should help? having allies in here would certainly make our task go smoother".
"We can help if we are able but I really don't want to be drawn into a Kobold/Goblin war."

“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
Looking at Alex, Irina smiles, sharing his concern "I share your concern and neither do I, but our best bet of finding Madam Hucrele's children is to have more allies, if we can navigate kobold territory easily, it would make things simpler. I'd rather not fight through goblins and kobolds if i can help it".
Blaze puts his hand on Meepo’s shoulder, “I would be willing to help you, I need more adventure to make great songs! I also like you Meepo, let’s be friends.” Blaze gives a warm smile
Meepo is thrilled that the party seems interested in helping. Regarding Oswald's question, "Meepo doesn't know, but Yusdrayl might! Meepo can take you to her."
Opal nods,"Yusdrayl seems to be the one to speak to, and I for one would like to see this Wyrmling. This Meepo is a mighty dragon tamer! A good friend to have."
Oswald jovially claps Meepo on the back, handing him a card advertising the services of Muckbuckle and Raulnor "Lead on then, mighty Meepo, Yusdrayl awaits!"
Meepo smiles at Opal with a toothy grin. Meepo looks at the card, seemingly unable to read what is written on it, but he accepts it graciously.
"Thank you, friends! I will take you all to Yusdrayl now."
He leads you west from the dragon trainer's chamber, and then north, into a grand hall. Deterioration and decay thrive here as everywhere; however, a double row of relief-carved marble columns march the length of the hall. The worn carvings depict entwining dragons. Three small kobolds patrol the area.
"Halt, who goes there! ...Oh, it's you, Meepo. ...but who are THEY?" The guard points to the party.
Meepo explains that you are allies, and that he needs an audience with Yusdrayl.
The guard is skeptical, but lets you pass down the hall to the west.
A short throne stands near the west wall, constructed of fallen bits of masonry stacked against an old altar. A kobold in red-dyed robes sits on the throne, and a force of six similar creatures guards her. The altar's top contains a variety of small items, while the portion of the altar that serves as the throne's back features a carving of a rearing dragon. A metallic key is held firmly in the rearing dragon's open mouth.
"Lady Yusdrayl", Meepo says with an excited bow, "these outsiders have come to help us recover our dragon!"
Yusdrayl, with regal bearing, gives no sign of emotion, but she addresses you: "To have made it this far here suggests that you are competent warriors, so I am willing to entertain entering into a deal. The putrid goblins have stolen our dragon. Return Calcryx the white wyrmling to me, and I will offer in exchange on completion of this task any two items from our altar." Having made her offer, she is quiet, perhaps expecting you to say something.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nervously rubbing his hands together, Oswald takes a deep breath and steps forward, bowing his head. "My lady, before we agree to your bargain, we would be remiss if we did not take this opportunity to gather vital information in regards to our task. My friends and I know little about this place, know little about our foe and even less in the care of wyrmlings. I have questions for you and I am sure my companions do also."
Indicating Meepo he continues, "I would ask that Meepo be allowed to accompany us to ensure Calcryx receives optimal care. I would also ask that what information you have on these despicable goblins be shared with us, so they can be vanquished effectively. Finally, I entreat that you share with us what information you have on the layout of this subterranean fortress so that we can better prepare ourselves for what lies ahead."
Blaze bows his head to Yusdrayl, “My lady, it would be an honor to return your dragon wyrmling to you. I ask, do you breed dragons often? I have a particular love for the creatures and their magnificence, perhaps I could make a song from their or your culture. I would love to raise a dragon myself if I could.”
To Blaze, Yusdrayl answers: "Calcryx was a... gift of sorts. It would be most shameful if we were unable to recover him." She continues. "As all know, kobolds are heir to dragons. As the mightiest among my people, I have led a brave few to this ancient holy site, where dragons were revered long ago."
To Oswald, Yusdrayl continues: "The goblins reside in this very structure, to the north, but they will be guarding that entrance. I will have Meepo escort you through another route into their territory. You should know that the goblins have two powerful allies: a bugbear hunter named Balsag, and a druid outcast named Belak. The bugbear stole the dragon, while the goblins are servants of the outcast. He grows the fruit, which he gives to the goblins."
As a final warning, she finishes: "You should know that you are not the first band of outsiders to come this way. Four humans passed this way not a month before. They fought the goblins. They never returned."
At the mention of the druid something occurs to Irina, "Did the druid have a giant frog with him?" She asks, curious to see if this lines up with information they gathered in town.
"We gather that the druid passed through here some ten years ago, before we moved into this structure; he has been below ever since. But the goblins we have interrogated have spoken of a giant frog, yes."
hey all, so sorry, I gotta jump out of my games for a bit. Please Please Please stay awesome! Thank you so much JOan, sorry for having to go, apparently I have to spend some time being a grown up once in a while

OOC I can't for the life of me remember a giant frog, was this back speaking to Madame Hucrule? Or being attacked by tree monsters?
(It was when we were in the Inn, the barkeep mentioned a man with a giant frog passed through a few months ago :) )

(No worries, Jynne; thank you for joining us while you could, good luck with real life!)
OOC Thanks TriWalt. Jynne, it's been fun, good luck with whatever is taking you away.
